Trier is Germany's oldest city... and true to European history, it's actually a Roman city!
We loved touring the Unesco World Heritage Sites all over the city. They even put on performances in their little colosseum where gladiators fight!
The medieval architecture and history were everywhere and the Porta Nigra was especially awesome.

Ah yes, Trier: The nightmare of construction crews. As soon as you do *any* amount of excavation there you *will* dig up some roman ruin or another.

Well, the Mosel river of course flows through France, Luxembourg into Germany. At Koblenz it joins the Rhine river. So it flows totally different direction as Josh says it in the video ;o

Great video of Trier! A couple things that you might not have heard is the first church you went to has the rope of Christ and show it every seven years to the public. And that big stone in front of the Dom is rumored that when the devil was kicked out his tried to get bad in the church but the door was locked so he tried break down the door with that stone/rock.

I enjoyed watching your video. My family and I love to travel as well. Usually all over the Caribbean and Antigua (where I'm from). Recently we've tarted to explore Europe together. I've only used the tracker in After effects so I don't know how it works with apple stuff but i seem to always have trouble with it being wiggly as well so I usually end up having to manually correct it. I've seen where people put a high contrast mask over the layer to bring out a good spot to set the tracker and then just layer the regular video over that or delete the mask after tracking is done.

As you go through Europe and uploading videos , I feel like attending history classes.All heritage and historical stuff scattered all over Europe. Only few times modernisation crops up in your videos . Are you deliberately traveling through rural areas? Europe seems to me all history & heritage.

+arun das we do like to go to the rural areas because thats where you find the true culture. Many cities have been influenced by many cultures and are not original to the old historical culture of the country. So to answer your question. Yes I do plan to be in rural areas to experience the culture. -Ash

She's currently in Shanghai (she gets around more than me if that is possible) and I have friends in Germany that keep asking me to come visit so I'm trying to plan an extended multi-country trip toward the end of the year and hopefully end up in South Africa for New Years (keep fingers crossed).

Trier has been the official seat of the Roman Emperor for some decades.They ruled the Roman Empire from there because also ancient Roman Emperors knew that the region was a key psition for their feet in the door of central Europe.

I was kidding about the Colosseum thing because my a bit bitter.When we were in Rome I lost our Colosseum ticket and they would not let us in even though I had the receipt of purchasing it earlier that day. Actually both cities are having a major discussion about this cause the record isnt 100% clear. But if u ask a person from Trier, theyll tell you they live in the oldest city, someone from worms will tell you the same ;)
