Man, it's a delight to see you still making damn epic content. Bless you.

Small note about Humble Defector: You cannot sacrifice something you don't control, so making a copy and tapping the copy will allow your opponent to keep the copy beyond your end step since giving it to an opponent is part of the resolution of the ability.

Ope, never mind. Thought the Sacrifice was in quotes. You right lol

Important detail about Mirage Phalanx, if you have it on the board and it's not bonded to something, you can allow it to bond to the token copy that Jaxis makes. This allows you to get another copy of the copy. Which includes Jaxis' copy text of "When this creature dies, draw a card" Because it's a value added by a copy effect. So if your opponent blocks the Mirage copy of the Jaxis Copy it'll also draw a card on death. Potentially doubling your draw for no extra cards. It's much better in my opinion than locking Mirage Phalanx onto one card to just be aggressive. This also works if you make a Jaxis copy of the Mirage Phalanx. It comes in, bonds to something. And when you move to combat, the copy of the copy also has that line of text letting you draw when it dies. Sorry, I really love this commander and due to this deck, I've learned all the ins and outs of copy mechanics. And they're super fun to me.

I have a spicy little Jaxis deck that I've been working on since New Capenna released. It's a artifact centric deck because I love the Modular mechanic. And let me tell you, there's some good stuff the deck can pull off. Infinite Mana is just one of the many things. I've also got Thornbite Staff in there, though I know that's not in your budget. But it's a fantastic include into any Jaxis player who's willing to shell out a little bit more for one or two of the cards. Legitimately enables this deck to basically just cycled through until you find what you need at any given point. And with something like Elixir of Immortality, the fun never has to stop. Just include some sac outlets like Goblin Bombardment or Phyrexian Altar(I know also very much not in the $1 budget but just examples) and you've got gas for the rest of the game because it's ending that turn. lol

Psychosis crawler is nuts in this deck, and witty roastmaster is the real MVP to me but I absolutely love seeing jaxis covered in any capacity

A strong synergy that mitch didn’t point out. Dross scorpion works REALLY well with liquimetal torque. Turn jaxis into an artifact, activate jaxis, kill your own artifacts, untap jaxis over and over to keep copying your stuff.

@Rapandreas 11 месяцев назад
Coersive Recruiter is nuts, since it triggers not only with itself, but each other pirate, including copies of itself, and as Mitch pointed out, you can untap Jaxis with it, which means you can make even more copies of Coersive Recruiter. In fact you can keep going until you run out of red mana; each time stealing one more creature, up to the triangular number for how much red mana you spend. And if you don't feel like stealing any more creatures, you can use the ETB to untap your creatures or specifically Jaxis to copy other creatures you already control, including those you've stolen. Edit: I forgot you have to discard a card every time you activate Jaxis. That might be more limiting. Still think it's better than the golden pig for sure.
@kylemartin7871
@kylemartin7871 11 месяцев назад
Another thing is the creatures you steal become pirates, so after you've made your second Coercive Recruiter you can make copies of what you steal which would trigger both Recruiters, untapping Jaxis and stealing another new pirate. I use that with Sundial of the Infinite so I can keep my copies of my opponent's fun creatures.

I wouldn't normally buy one of your lists verbatim... That being said, I'm putting in a copy of Wrangle and changing absolutely nothing else lol. Phenomenal list. Very similar to the one i was working on, but i kinda got lost in a Madness subtheme

I’ve had her as commander since the day they spoiled her, everyone underestimated her, now she’s kill on sight at my table and I basically have to blitz her to use her at all 😂

Delina the wild mage got somewhat same game plan but not at cost of discard a card and 1 mana and only 1 copy and also works on legendary since its clone ability ignore that sadly for her to clone she needs to attack and she is abit weak on toughness is a 3/2 so you need ways for her to survive when attacking like make her unblockable & etc. but in theory if lucky enough you can get infinite copies of a creature: you just have to roll 15 or over and be lucky enough but you are sure to get 1 creature per turn like this commander but at 0 mana cost/discarding

I don't think the humble defector would work like that. You wouldn't be able to sac somthing you don't control. They might have to on their turn if they don't use it. maybe?
@HereHoldThisHandle
@HereHoldThisHandle 11 месяцев назад
I agree. I'm pretty sure since Jaxis doesn't give the token copy the text saying, "Sacrifice this token at the next end step", that they get to keep it. Jaxis does give the token text saying "When this creature dies, draw a card." The opponent gets to keep it, and can benefit from the card draw on its death if they don't want to tap it for its ability.

Jaxis is a better commander than kiki jiki. You can cast and use him for 3 mana right out of the command zone. Almost Any kikijiki shenanigans can be done here.
