*UPDATE NOTES* - There are rubber feet included in the box. I just didn't attach them before finishing the video - KOF99 apparently has always had issues on the character select screen (according to various commenters below)
You are my reference concerning Controllers or sticks, really appreciate your work. Your style is also unique and authentic, wish you further success and go on with your brilliant work...
God i love that anime too yaguchi really made me wanna be more like him he has such good character development he’s like one of my top main characters 🐐
KOF 99 has a delayed response on the character selection screen....I have a hacked vita and I was actually playing last night and experienced the same thing....your fight stick is fine
Thx for this video, i was looking for someone that knows a few things about arcade sticks and tested the games as possible and you nailed it, great content
My only Gripe about this Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro is the fact that the games are all fighting games only. I wish they had representation of other genres as well since the Neo Geo Mini wasn't so hotly received.
It has a gig of memory, so there's a decent amount of room to add more games. Also, SNK promised to make more games available to download into the ASP (assuming that you don't simply hack the console and just add your own dirty, filthy illegally obtained roms onto it yourself).
I know I'm super late, but SNK did make 20 more games available for this as free downloads for the stick to read off of, including most of the Metal Slug games.
I'm getting mine today. I'm very excited to finally own what should be by all rights a decent arcade stick. The only other stick I've owned was the Neo Geo X, which was complete trash. I'm in love with the way this thing looks.
For the price and selection of games, it's a great buy. Especially given how much the titles are on the eshop. Can't wait to see how this gets modded. I would be happy buying "Game packs" for this vs. the last console product they tried. This seems to be far better thought out in terms of target audience.
this could be very interesting as an entry level fight stick, I'd like to see it used in some steam games. Would also be worth comparing to capcom's take on this kind of product
Love the Hi Score Girl T-shirt. I was wondering if NihongoGamer actually watched the show since it uses 90s gaming as a setting including arcade gaming and it is a good show and manga in general.
Thanks so much for the video, was waiting for a review on the stick! Glad they made the stick clicky this time around. I am considering buying this stick to use for tournaments since I really like the color scheme, so I'd like to see if it's functional with other consoles as well if possible please. Thank you!
Is Neogeo allowing for added games on this Arcade Stick Pro? I heard Metal Slug is now available. Honestly, I like a lot of these fighters, but i really want Metal Slug and Magician Lord...
I like the fact it acts as console. But mainly retro games 32 bit which is still cool. There is also a hack to recieve a whole bunch of more games. Its actually a decent buy if u dont like spending time download emulators and roms plus test.
I am temped to get this joystick for use with the SNK and KOF game library that I already have on my computer. It would be cool that there was a version without games that hopefully would be cheaper.
I have a retro console where the gamepad controller is the console but man this is far cooler- The controller is the console is also an arcade controller and perfect for playing fighting games👍 I hope more consoles like this get released in the future. A Capcom version would be nice!
@@carlosaugusto9821 I agree there's so many classic Neo Geo games now SNK could have put 40+ games on it. I heard it was made so that you are going to be able to add games to it in the future though. These are very old games though I'd have at least packed 42 games in to start.
I'm so tempted to get one of these but I'm waiting to see if people eventually get cps2 games running on it Glad to hear it's a square gate, I was expecting it to be octagonal because of the small arrows around the stick
@@majortom331 I honestly don't know if it's just my personal preference because it's what I'm used to, but for me it makes dragon punch motions and crouching guards a lot easier, it's just the tactile feel of the stick going into the corners of the square gate Maybe if I was used to an octagonal gate of be saying simular things about that Just keep practicing with it, I got my first arcade stick in the 90's and I was terrible on it but now I feel like I'm at a disadvantage when I use a pad
@@langlest I can understand that. For me it's just that I don't feel secure holding down in certain directions, which slide off into the corners. But I'll try to keep practicing. Thanks for your insight 👌
There should be little padded feet in the box to stick on the back so it doesn't slide. Umm I tried out the arcade1up ninja turtles at walmart yesterday and I could tell quickly that they were cheap parts. Glad I didn't have to buy it. They sound like these. Snk just doesn't get it.we want quality and people are willing to pay for it. The neo geo home console in the early 90s was retail for 700.00 no kidding and each game was 100.00 good review!
Hey, did yours have capcom games also? someone in my area is selling one that they modded with sanwa stick and seimitsu buttons. The software appears different as it includes hundreds of games, including the marvel/capcom series and other shooters and schmups as well. I wasn't sure if maybe there's an updated version?
@@SsjSphealyes you can connect it to PC. to connect it to any other console you're going to need an adapter. While this company has their own adapter solution, it's probably better to use a Brook adapter.
To think that a retro console/stick would solve the issue of cable doors breaking... by using a battery cover style instead. Also brb adding a banana holder to the inside of my stick.
I got a PS Classic months ago when they were on sale for $20, hacked it fairly easily with retroarch and all that good stuff. Then I found out the Hori Mini PS4 gamepad works with it, and I just happened to padhack one into my LeGFS-201 fightstick around the same time. It's not an all-in-one unit, but still a pretty sweet setup that only cost me about $125 all in, with Sanwa buttons and a Crown lever too. The PS Classic can actually handle a lot of the emulation with no problem, definitely more powerful than expected. Highly recommended if you can get one cheap, even more so if you have a stick that's compatible with it! I hope this NeoGeo stick also gets hacked wide open eventually, and that it'll be super discounted by then too lol.
hey notice you got the benq RL2460 tournament monitor, when did you get that monitor? You should do a video on that, whats your opinion on color of the screen and the tn panel. i just bought Benq RL2755
From what I saw of the inside of this arcade controller/console thing: the buttons look like Hori Hyabusa clones, but I'm not sure about the lever/joystick (*apparently there's some unused mounting holes that can fit a JLF). And I hear they may be adding more games to this thing in the future? At least that's what the USB port might be used for, along with firmware updates.. Also, this is my first time hearing about the banana test but the TE2+ definitely passes, I can carry a full lunch in that thing! Bento at locals?
I actualy prefer a square gate cause I don't over shoot my quarter circle attacks I reverse engineered the Korean back dash. Edit: what do you use to record while playing
Thank you for the detailed reiview. I just got a SNK Arcade Stick today and I have an issue while booting the console. It shows up a SNK log and then an instructions manual of 7 pages, in the same style as the main menu. I don't know how to pass by this screen. I've pressed every button. I have google this issue and I couldn't find any reference to this problem. If someone has experience this I'd truly appreciate any help.
