It is no exaggeration when I say this coop revolutionized my chicken keeping. Self cleaning, mobile, spacious... what more could you ask for?
In this video we will complete the build, and take a walkthrough to discuss each section of the coop.
I will also discuss my thoughts on this chicken coop design after 3 weeks of usage.

I like that, how the bottom is open. That would indeed save on cleaning.

Looks great. I like its relative simplicity. I've thought of getting chickens before, but it probably wouldn't work in our yard. How much of an economic advantage is there in having your own eggs? And about how many do you get a day (if you get any yet)? Also, yesterday or the day before you had a post asking for video ideas, but when I tried to comment it said "failure" or something. I guess you took the post down right as I tried to comment. Anyway, I saved the text because I thought you might repost but here it is if you still want some ideas: Some topic ideas: public school, homeschool, college, being in the world but not of the world, bible reading/knowledge retention strategies, various skills you just need to know (kind of like what your dad and brother have done), ways to be smart with money (you could do a lot here), talk about your chickens - why you got them and your plans with/for them, good book recommendations, good author recommendations, and more of the kind of stuff you've been doing already - how to free yourself from enslavement to the world system (aka "burning the boxes"). And I think this would be the most important: the positive compliment to 'burn the boxes', "Glorify Yahwey". What I mean is your channel trailer kind of serves as both right now but it would be great to do an individual video going into the WHY (I've said it before but your trailer is absolutely amazing!). For example: ok, so, 80-hour work weeks are bad for you; almost anyone who's tried them will know that. It's bad for you physically, mentally, and spiritually. The first two (physically and mentally) are pretty easy for most to grasp intuitively - hurting like that is bad. In other words, why go at life "alternatively" in the first place for a reason other than yourself/your own productivity? It is better for you, that's true. But, the ultimate and final reason is to glorify YHWH. The world will tear down its own system. We're seeing that happen right now. The world, because of sin, cannot create a perfect system that fulfills us fully in all facets of life. Give the world enough time and it'll burn itself. But by the grace and working of God, we give glory to Him with our lives. We are not of the world (or, "the world's"), we are God's so we honor and glorify Him. (Basically a video on the answer to the big "Why?") You've got some great stuff! Keep it coming! All glory to YHWH!

Thanks man! Honestly chickens will work anywhere. That's what's so great about them compared to most other kinds of livestock. I've seen people raise them in a suburban neighborhood with less than an acre. (One guy built the coop and run underneath his porch. Not sure how that would smell lol, but it works!) To be honest, they aren't very economic at all, IF you raise them the mainstream way. We've learned from our previous chickens that commercial feed will eat your wallet alive, and that's not even the good, organic stuff. You could buy organic, free range eggs at the store for cheaper. That's why we tore the old coop down, 'cause we were never going to do it again. However, as I think I explained it at the end of my first video, I wanted to see if you could get away with completely ditching commercial feed (both starter and layer) and make a cheaper and much healthier alternative (which I did, and they not only survived, but became so much healthier). I have cut my feed bill by half, AND I know that what they are eating is extremely healthy (remember that what they eat, you eat). And I haven't got any eggs yet (they're only about 6 weeks old, and they don't lay until around weeks 16-18), but they are forecasted at approx. 200 eggs a year each (so about 2,000 total, assuming one of them isn't a boy). But egg production mostly depends on the breed. Yes, I did take it down. Sorry about that. I was kinda getting the same responses, so I didn't see a point in keeping it up. But thanks for taking the time to make some suggestions! All of those are very good. As for your last suggestion, I kind of understand what you're saying, but just to clarify, you would like to essentially see a part 2 to the trailer, solely emphasizing the Christian experience and our duty to burn the boxes for His glory alone?

@@burntheboxes Yes. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Mathew 6:33). We'd have to have ~20 chickens then to feed my house. We go through nearly a dozen eggs a day on average.

Love it, Chicksaw Coop it is. Btw, If you make a cross board/bar above the handles at hip height. You don't have to bend so much when lifting and moving The Chicksaw.

Oh wow, ouch. I've seen a lot of guys with back problems over my 3 years in construction, and surprisingly most of it was from little things like that just compounded over time... Made me conscientious of it for sure.

Nice work 🤠 Matthew 13:54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter's son?
