@@sonyafox3271 I don't think she meant that they don't exist. I interpreted it as you can't do that for $45 anymore. Where I live you cannot feed 2 people in a restaurant with tablecloths, etc for less than $150- $200. You do not always get a choice of tip. Sometimes they add it in anyway. Fast food for my family of 5 is usually about $76.
My dad use to take me and my 3 brothers plus mom to western sizzling steakhouse for a good steak dinner for 40 bucks that included drinks and dessert that's was our splurge we did it once a month
Hubby and I had chick fil a for the first time this past winter and i know I'm going to get some hate for this but I was not impressed. I asked Hubby if i was missing something and even he was not impressed for the amount of money we spent. I would make yours, not because its chick fil a but because it looked better than what we got lol. 15.00 dollars and you fed 5 GREAT JOB!!! I love watching you whip up some pretty amazing food, thank you.
We felt that way about In N Out Burger. I like my cheeseburger with mayo. “We don’t have that.” Strike One. Hubs walked over to BK next door and got me some Mayo packs. So I doctored up my burger and it was … meh. Like a small McDonald’s hamburger. Totally forgettable. Tried the fries. They were like eating those old style canned piknik fries. I’m not a fan. Burger like I miss, especially since it’s spring and they do fried asparagus with garlic aoli. That’s worth missing. In N Out? Once was twice too many. We DO have good Chick FIL A’s out here on the East coast, but the cost is just not in our budget. We can go to Mission BBQ for the same price and get something phenomenal.
Arby's beef and cheddar.. All you need is sliced roast beef, velveeta cheese slices, some onion hamburger buns, Catalina sauce (salad dressing) and some horse radish. (I usually buy it in a pre mixed jar) We bought two of the melts from Arbys for a little under $10. And they don't even compare to what you can make at home. All we do is heat up the roast beef. With a slice of cheese on top. Put the buns on top of our toaster (that way it's nicely toasted and warm.) Ad as much sauce as you want on the buns then put the roast beef and cheese on the bun.. We were able to make 6 of the cheese melts for less than $10. The ingredients were so much better as well.
Or you can just mix a smoky barbecue sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray’s) and some mayonnaise. I use equal amounts but you can play with it until you get the flavour you like. The first time I went to CFA I asked the young lady if she could describe the sauce and she said “it’s brown sauce” When I tasted it I knew right away what the ingredients were so I tried it at home to see if I could copy it. I didn’t know Walmart made a similar sauce! We probably don’t have it here in Canada but I’m gonna keep an eye out for it. 💝
Oh i love that CFA sauce. And thier Polynesiansauce..and im not a sauce person. Thanks for the base info. Im gonna play around with that, and try to make it. @@kellybowman9600
I make my chicken nuggets like this all the time. The powdered sugar gives it that flavor. You can also brine your chicken in pickle juice and then coat! Yummy!
I've made this copy-cat Chick Fil A recipe before, and you can't tell the difference! Your pocketbook can, but not your tastebuds. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
I definitely recommend it. I've found several really good copycat recipes, and really enjoy being able to make my own without paying crazy prices or having to go out. Nothing like having Olive Garden Chicken Gnocchi Soup in your pajamas on a rainy day.
I remember when kids meal at McDonald's was $1. And I could take them to a nice restaurant kids meal with ice cream . I could eat with glass of wine and 3 kids for $15.
@@shellyturner2766I agree that it’s nothing special but we only eat it in certain occasions because they are over priced in the world of fast food. My kids are actually happy with those frozen Tyson patties in a bun lol
Great 👍 job, Brooke. I’ve never been in our chick filet and will never 👎 go. Don’t like what they stand for. Thank you for a wonderful video. Love 💕 and Hugs. 💙💙💙
tfs looks so good! If you want to try something quick but still pretty tasty chicken sandwich. In the frozen section at Aldi p/u all white meat breaded chicken breast (Red Bag). There are about 6 in the package 7.99 Baked at 375 20 min. on one side & 18 min on the other. I'm sure yours are much better, but this would be less mess. :-) Often I will just cook and cut up to put on a salad.
This is going to be a great new series, Brooke! I love some Chick Fil A, and get those wild cravings, and of course, it'll be a Sunday every time. Your chicken looked soo delicious.
"WE HAVE FOOD AT HOME"🎉🎊✨️GREAT SERIES👍🏻👌🏻 👏🏻 Thank you. We were told this when we asked for nasty expensive junk. It's true❣️ All these recipes are perfect and delicious. GO SISTER👑❤️🔥✌🏻🇺🇸
Way to go, Bestie! Chick Fli A who? Savings is your gift and I'm thrilled you're here to share, Brooke. Have a great day and be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo
We just started a weekly dinner on sat night making copycat fast food. We don't have the budget and I always feel guilty when we splurge. So now we do copycat recipes (my way) and we did burger king this past weekend and we literally can make 3-4 meals for the both of us for the price of us eating out once there. that is a months worth of BK over just once if we ordered it.. plus it was fun. You can even wrap up the burgers in wax paper and by cardboard tray for the fries and still save lots of money,,
I think this is a great idea! With the soaring food prices it’s nice to have a treat that’s not breaking the bank. Plus when you make it at home you know exactly what’s in your food! 💝
Gurl! Your suggestion to buy/try the sweet chilli sauce at Dollar Tree was spot on! I have 3 bottles in the pantry right now and will probably end up with more cuz I buy a bottle or 2 every time I go now. I'm so afraid they're gonna stop making it! It is so good with Hawaiian and Asian food! I haven't tried it on noodles yet but that's gonna happen soon. Love you to pieces and your enthusiasm is contagious! 💕💕💕
Hope you are feeling better today... I know you said you pre did the 2 videos this for this week . Love you for thinking of us... Sending you many prayers and strength to feel better and love ya girl ... Chicken looks delicious and crispy .. I bet it is so juicy yummmmmm.... Great deal you would spend at least 40 bucks for sure... You did great that's so cool .. thank you so much for sharing.... I'm surprised it called for powder sugar I would have never guessed.... Hugs for you and always keep smiling.. 🙏🙏🌹🌹🥰🥰
I will be making this for my boys this week. If it’s a hit I’ll probably make some fillets to freeze for a quick lunch, just microwave and go, instead of there already made chicken sandwiches. Please keep making copy cat recipes.
Brooke, this looks wonderful! Thanks so much for the recipe, too! It's just me at my place, but I could totally see myself making a batch of chicken like this for meal prep. What a treat and saving money, too! 💜
Thank you Brooke 💝 This is great, can’t wait to try it. I live in Canada and the closest CFA is in Toronto which is about an hour away. It’s one of my son’s favourite fast foods so he’s gonna love this. The first time we went to CFA I asked what the sauce was like and the young lady said “it’s a brown sauce” 😂 If anyone wants to make the sauce simply mix some smoky barbecue sauce (like Sweet Baby Ray’s) with some mayo. I use about a tbsp of each but you can play with the amounts until you get the desired flavour. I love your channel Brooke! You’re very warm and engaging and have a wonderful sense of humour. So blessed that you came up in my feed 💝
This what we have been remaking to save money. The wendys baconator breakfast sandwich. is a bun/a piece of breakfast sausage (I used walmarts sausage pattys)bacon (we either cook bacon or I just warm up some already cooked) a fried egg (or you can make an omelt and cut to fit) and a piece of american cheese. The arbys roast beef sandwich- a bun/ roast beef (I buy the sandwich deli slice in the package and put in my crockpot with a little water mixed with some beef boullion-get warm) the sauces you can buy in the bottle. if you like the cheddar you can get some cheese wiz. These taste exactly like the arbys. just thought I would share. Mcdonalds mc griddles. Pancakes (little dash size- you can make your own, but lately I have found those premade ones buy on get one free) those sausage patties again from walmart, an egg and a piece of cheese. pour on syrup. wendys chicken sandwich chicken patty (the aldis red bag- you can make them hot with sauce, air fry them) then put on bun with lettuce and mayo.
That was a big savings! Think about how they add in the money they pay the workers? Brooke! You owe yourself about $25 for labor, and the other just goes to operating costs. Gee whiz Brooke, you could be rich if you paid yourself! 😄😄😄😁 That meal looked delicious. Plus, it's made with ❤️ love.
Way to go Brooke !!!!! 👍😊Your yummy food looks WAY better then going out and spending hard earned money on Chik fil a .. I gotta tell ya .My husband and I tried it once or twice and we were not impressed at all . ~ Keeping Smiling Bestie ~ 😊 Thank you for sharing !!!!
Great idea for a new series. Brooke I can hardly crack an egg with my dominant hand let alone my other hand 😅 so many great ideas. So glad i found your channel ❤
I can’t cook for myself. I’m handicapped and it’s hard to stand up by the stove or doing chickens definitely off my because it takes so long for the chicken to get cooked so I can do a steak steak doesn’t take that long so I could sit in my chair and cut up vegetables that I want and put some oil and butter in a pan, well first I put oil in the bowl that just the butter in the pan with the oil I mean when I toss it in and I do onions mushrooms, asparagus should’ve said sweet onion, asparagus, and mushrooms and my steak. I just put some salt on it and pepper and that’s iton the steak I use Lowery seasoning. You may say it takes a lot. It has a lot of salt in it but I’m so so God bless be strong. Stay well. Love you.
That looks yummy and so much like Chik Fil A! And if one wanted the sauce you can either buy the sauce in the grocery store (they sell it now!) or make at home. Crazy you can have this meal THREE TIMES at home for the price of going out!
@patriciastrickland9540 I love it up here. We have been here for four years. Our son goes to high school and has had many great experiences he would not have had if we were still in the lower 48. Also, we get to have many food adventures because of the diversity of meats!
@theresarogerssimpson1280 We absolutely love it here. It is an experience like none other. I think everyone should come up at least once. Alaskan summers are spectacular, winter is definitely not for everyone though.
If you had bought your chicken breast on sale and thin sliced it yourself, you would have saved even more money. I’m making ham and beans today with cornbread but now I have a hankering for chicken sandwiches so I see those on the menu for tomorrow. 😁. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
The Members Mark brand st Sam's tastes very similar to chick fil'e for those who don't have a lot of time and want it nearly as quickly as a drive thru .I would recommend buying fresh buns though the frozen ones that come with those chicken sandwiches do not reheat well in my opinion. God bless you all.
I've made the nuggets/sandwiches before but brined them in pickle juice for about 30 minutes before coating them and then frying. I do that for the pickle taste because I'm not a fan of pickles on my chicken sandwich either but I love the pickle taste
Really Neat, I never thought to do this, your Right tho you cannot take your family to eat out even fast food, it rediculas how much it cost we have 3 children, my son n wife and me grandma, 6 people cost 50 bucks if not more getting cheaper items from McDonald's ya it's crazy, anyone else as well. So yes for sure you can eat making it yourself and not paying so much for it.
I made this chicken recipe tonight.. OMG it was the BEST I have ever made. I[m going to make up a jar of the dry mix and keep on hand for when I want to make more. Thank you for sharing!!!!!
Wow! That chicken looked delicious! Im getting chicken breasts from walmart tonight and want to try this. Ive said before you are a food genius and wonderful at saving money for delicious meals!
Did you try it? How did it turn out for you? I watched this video last night and think I’m going to surprise my son with this for dinner tonight. We live in Canada and the closest CFA is an hour away. ❤
I will definitely be making this. My girls always want to go out to eat but it is not in the budget. I can make this and everyone should be happy. I can even get store bought drinks and save a ton of money. Thanks for the recipe. Love to you and your family. ❤️
G R E A T video !!!! I’m really gonna start back cooking at home … way better and more economical !! Thank you 🙏 for sharing this info !! Prayers for you to get well ❤️🩹 soon !!
