As a guy who loves offense, I'm gonna hate this but someone like my cousin and some of my friends who loves defense, I know they gonna be ysing this all the time so I gonna have to come up with a gameplan when playing against them
Hoping we don't have to use bullshit like zone drop depths on defense or bullshit ass base align. Wild how in madden players could execute their assignments from a base align press. I feel bad for cool dudes like Phicam and others whos names are associated with such a trash ass game. Fuck Madden
the counter to this is that now pump fakes are actually useful, since when you fake, the meter appears over the receiver you faked to for a split second. if you catch your defender being over aggressive, you can punish him easily
You could do this back when Madden was on Sega Genesis in the 90's nothing new they take stuff away bring it back as a feature,one-handed catches should be just a spectacular catch by elite receivers this just crazy.
You could choose which players to switch to mid play in the 90s? I find that hard to believe when you can’t do that in 2k football games or any other madden games.

@@HayhoeHayhoe This has never been in Madden before. Currently, you can switch to the closest person who has the ball and thats it. This will allow you to switch to any player prior to the ball being thrown. You can start on a MLB and toggle to the FS when you see you are getting bombed prior to the QB throwing to better cover a route combination that you wouldnt be able to react to until the ball is in the air.
I’m pretty sure I read that when the ball is in the air it defaults to switch stick instead of hit stick, and after the ball is either in the hands of a receiver or defender, or has been touched, hit stick controls will resume.
I need this in madden I never played ncaa I preordered it but thinking of canceling but that’s what I struggle with in madden defense. I swear I feel like I have to be everywhere but only stuck on 1 person. My defense always seem caught in a daze and not aware of what’s going on and I can’t react.
No, this allows you to switch onto any coverage defender anywhere on the field by flicking the stick that way. B will only allow you to switch to the closest defender as you mentioned.
To be honest, they balanced this out pretty well from what I have been playing. It is not too OP. It is kind of hard to get consistently. If I’m being honest, it doesn’t always switch to where I wanted to which is more on me than the game I’m just glad it’s not super crazy but it’s pretty useful
This is good for me because I user the safety so anything across the middle I got it’s the corner and out routes it hard to click on and get a pick in madden but we’ll see
I can already see this being glitchy. Dues gonna be user rushing and clicking to move covetage all in. An instant its gonna be worse than any knockouts weve experienced
To our understanding, it won't be the same going from a blitzing player to a coverage player. According to their blog notes, this is a different mechanic. The switch stick is only used for coverage to coverage players.

That's not true, you've never had access during a play to switch to any coverage defender you want. If your opponent was rolling out to the right, you could not switch your user to the LoS corner before the ball was thrown for example.
@@HuddleGG no the difference here is college football’s ratings reflect differently than Madden. Everybody’s pretty much running the same pace regardless in college football it’s never been like that.
BS. They’ve always had this. When you push x to switch players, it always gives u the player closest to the ball. Do they really think us older gamers aren’t aware of things like this? There is still no way to know exactly who u are switching to, tho.

I'm pretty sure they said you can only use it before the qb throws the ball, after that right stick goes back to hit stick. A lot of people think they are going to be able to switch using this while the ball is in the air and that's not the case.
B/O switches to players closest to the ball. The switch stick will allow you to move your user to any coverage defender on the field before the ball is thrown. Much different mechanic.
@nopanic3186 yeah, don't get me wrong it's still cool in a case if you see a wr breaking free but have a safety in the vicinity you can switch to quick and try to take him away. Most switching will more than likely be done once the ball is thrown and that is done using O/B like it's always been.
Sooo is hit sticking gonna be done with the same stick? If so I don’t see that going too well… So I looked it up anyone wondering after the ball carrier passes the line of scrimmage or the qb passes the ball it goes back to hit stick and you can’t use it to switch anymore. I don’t know if I really like that for the passing part mostly. What if my cb gets beat and I try to use the right stick to quick switch right to safety? Im just gonna end up looking stupid hit-sticking my ghosts 😂
It's definitely interesting to see how that will work if you are using the switch stick right as the pass is being thrown! Hopefully there is a small delay that prevents us from hit sticking the wind lol.

I haven’t seen any confirmation of of that yet, but based on the way that I’ve heard that developers talk about it. I’m assuming that you could absolutely still press the old button. I could be wrong, but I doubt that they’re going to remove the option to press the old button. either way either way just one of those mechanics that might take a little bit to get used to similar to all the momentum stuff and madden and the passing controls they have
You can still switch players with B/O but that doesn't give you the direct switch that the switch stick is going to give. Typically the B/O button will just switch you to the closer defender to the ball.

I’ve been playing both these games forever and everytime you switch they will switch you to the defender closet to the ball carrier and that was always the qb. So guess what……. You always got switched to the lineman
It is not in 24. You can switch players but it will switch you to the closest defender to the ball. You don't have the freedom to switch to any coverage defender with the flip of the stick.
It was not. You can push B to switch players but it switches you to the closest player to the ball most of the time and doesn't give you the freedom to switch to any coverage defender on the field.
because tapping the button cycles players in a specific order, this allows you to go to the player you want directly. Something that has been sorely missing forever in these games.
@@DA-fx2ip I’ve never really had issues with the old way but I am curious to try this, going from the joystick back to Y or Triangle for an interception seems like it would take more time than just hitting B/O
@@Chillionaire not when you have to cycle through 6 players or when you switch it always goes to the player you dont want to control. This will be better
@@Chillionaire pretty common issue amongst a lot of old school players. More than one way to do things. Enjoy pressing b 9 times while I move the joystick in once and control who I want.
Full release is July 19th Early release is July 16th With EA games, a lot of times people do get access the day before so some are expecting July 15th.
