Did you ever get a tune revision for the CP3? I know they make complete drop in Cp3’s but I am curious if I should plan to have a tune file that supports a CP3 ready

S&S has 50 state legal CP3’s but if you did a DEF delete you have to go to a tune or no tune version but, either one will support up to 750HP

I need to do this to my LML, I have 121k miles on mine with the original CP4, it's always in the back of my mind. You should pull the regulator out of your CP4 and see if it's clean or if there are any metal shavings in it.

If your not as capable as this guy, the other option I can tell all my fellow duramax guys, buy a FASS lift pump and a EXERGY fuel system saver. The CP 4 fails because there is no lift pump on a GM duramax so it has to pull the fuel from the tank and has to work really hard to do it! And buy the fuel system saver so you don’t wind up like his buddy with the white truck. This part stops the metal shavings from going through the fuel rails and injectors! It’s a difference of like 10,000 compared to 1500 if your CP4 fails!!!

I've done about the same. Fuel system saver, AirDog II 4G, Beans sump and Diesel Kleen at every fill up. So far, running strong at 197,000 miles.

Did you remove the fan blade to get to the cp4 bolts, or just losen the shroud to get a little more working clearance?

I just loosened the shroud that goes over the fan to get it out of the way I didn't pull the clutch fan!

I was not super stoked on the fitment of the wcfab stuff ive installed but with all the kits coming in and out of both facilities there is stuff bound to happen but hsp customer service and support they have given men have been second to none and they are just good quality people and I cant say that for others

I just installed an EZLYNK on my duramax and bought their tunes with it and I love it! Super easy to install and they give you lifetime tune upgrades and tech if you buy their stuff. The nice part is a bunch of the delete tuners aren’t supported anymore so finding tunes for some of them are getting pretty hard!

I like the video, it would be nice to show how to get the original parts off, and installing the new ones. Anyone attempting this at home, be aware that this really isn’t easy to do, and you will find yourself looking for a Deisel mechanic to come to your house to finish it! Some Duramax you need to drop the trans to get to the up/down pipes! I have a 2015 1/2 and it’s a bitch to do this stuff! I restore old muscle cars and can rebuild a gas V8 no problem and I was LOST working on this!

On my lml duramax I did the ppe exhaust manifolds and up pipes and with the turbo off and fuel lines loose it was not too bad

I’m doing the CP3 change right now. 195K on CP4 and surprisingly the CP4 was in great shape but…. You aren’t kidding it’s a “HARD JOB!” Imagine being just a dumb Lectrician and doing this🙄. Wont get the CP3 till Thursday so I just hope I remember my steps. I have an EGR delete that I bought 2 years ago, I should do that now, eh? My wife hides all my stuff so I need to find it.

You gotta take it all of to do the pump so might as well! And I honestly rarely unhook the batteries some electrical tape and microfibers usually cover anything that could arc but your right always a smart decision

What's that coolant filler attached to the reservoir? Is there a special bleeding procedure for the LML?

its just like and auto parts store bleeding kit just makes it easy to fill up and run the truck to let the coolant suck into the system no special procedure fill warm up till it sucks in take it around the block and refill

Yes I recommend getting a new one but usually the kits come with an lbz pump

you can do a cp3 conversion thats 50 state legal but the hsp kit isn't all state legal

@@jadeng7086 No i just drive it, i do you a fuel additive. I had the transmission computer tunes. I have own the truck since 63000 mi, I like a clean running truck, i care about the emissions as well as not rollin coal on my camper or trailer, also its a big truck if i want to go fast ill by a corvette lol, also not towing i get 30 mpg sounds crazy but i took a picture of this

@@RESURRECTEDDIESEL yup, hit a miss. My 2016 LML CP4 went out at 109k miles. Had to replace all my fuel system. Luckily GM covered half of the cost. Only paid 3.5k, but I'm still worry that it will happen again. Looking to install a Fass Lift pump very soon
