This country's relationship with Russia is causing concern in Ukraine 

I'm 80 years old. If I were 50 years younger, I would join the Ukraine Army. Most of my life was spent in fear of Russia. Patton was correct when he wanted to take on Russia during WW2. A worldwide threat since 1904.

The country that is of concern is Belarus. Not sure why that needs to be hidden from the title

They've been trying to take Bakhmut for literally months. There's a series of hills/high ground to the north of the city that's controlled by Ukraine that also contains a road that keeps the possibility to resupply or even retreat open to the Ukrainians. There's no real reason they want Bakhmut other then to announce they seized it after months of some of the deadliest fighting in Ukraine. If the Ukrainians commit, which they obviously have, they can make Russia pay with an insane amount of their men's lives and equipment (which Russia frankly doesn't have) just to have Ukraine fall back relatively safely at the last minute and devastate them from the high ground outside the city. This a lose lose for Russia. Even if they take it they won't hold it for long. Logically it makes no sense for them to put this much effort and loses into Bakhmut while the men of Ukraine are doing exactly what they should. And that's making them bleed for every meter they seize.

The only realistic defense against those projectiles is an early detect, locate, track and destroy of the launch systems.

Please America, do not stop helping Ukraine.

Seriously time to contact our governments and tell them to keep supporting Ukraine in every way possible. Also searching for verified ways to help Ukraine with private donations. Lets get them through the winter and keep up the support going into next spring!

Ukraine lost the war already. Enough is enough and it's time for Zelensky to negotiate for peace.

I believe we save 10 for every 1 dollar we spend to aid Ukraine. For us to fight Russia directly would cost trillions. Once Russia leaves all of Ukraine we will know they have learned not to try to invade their neighbors. Only then can we begin to reduce military aid and focus on helping Ukraine get justice and reparations.

The problem with Belarus is that there was major protest just a few years ago. He had to call in Russian help to put down the protests. Loukachenko simply cannot afford to throw his most loyal troops at Ukraine. He would likely end up getting ousted. Putin would risk losing an ally if he forced Loukachenko to attack Ukraine.

Thats because Ukraine did not give 2 sh!ts about the US or NATO until they got invaded!

Belarus does not want to fight in Ukraine. It has much to lose by doing that. Nor do their military have the desire, the equipment nor the training to fight Ukraine. Russia is pressuring them into doing so. But Belarus would make very little impact.

I'm not too concerned about Belarus entering the fight. That would be viewed as an "escalation" and you know that the Poles are champing at the bit for any excuse to get into this, to payback Russia, and to get some battle experience. So #1 - Lukashenko doesn't want to escalate as he knows it would not end well for him and #2, They don't have the means to conduct a war. Russia has taken their functional armor and artillery. They're not going to open a front with just small arms.

To keep Belarus honest and stay where they are, Poland need to have NATO exercise around their border area, that alone will tell the people in Belarus if they ever decide to attack Ukraine, they just left their own country wide open for attack! why would Poland do that? because they know if Ukraine ever fail, they will be the next country Russia like to take over next!

Cutting off support for Ukraine would play directly into Putin and Russia's hands. Their grin would be ear to ear. And in a few years they will advance again. I don't think there will be a change in House voting since I doubt Democrats were near unanimous on anything relating to defense. The Bakhmut fighting is being done because it is attached to a city they hold and Wagner does not want to go out into ditches in fields and freeze to death. This useless offensive battle is exactly what the depleted Russian army didn't need, it just allows the Wagner leader to say they are doing something without leaving the city they are based in.

Why are they keeping the report classified? The American people should get all this information and know where our trillions of dollars are going.

Have you reached out to him and asked him how he would react if Putin decided Belarus belonged to Russia and that it was wrong to be Belarusian. Remind him that it's when injustice becomes law, that resistance becomes duty. Ukrainians didn't ask to endure maltreatment from leaders like Hitler, Stalin, and Putin, and Ukraine isn't the only country upon the globe refusing to submit to his tyranny.

This seems to be an ideal time for a revolution in Belarus. I don't think that Russia has forces to spare to crush such a rebellion as they normally would. Have no idea what the attitude of soldiers in the Belarus military is but if a rebellion led to a full scale civil war in Belarus with some Belarus military units trying to overthrow the government it would seem a reasonable idea for some of Ukrainian forces that have been sitting in the north just in case Belarus invades to then enter Belarus and help the rebels to overthrow the Belarus government, hopefully thus giving people in Belarus their freedom. Sadly this is all likely a fantasy and none of the Belarus military would support a rebellion. More sad though is the fact that once the war in Ukraine is over Russia will again have enough military forces available to crush any rebellion that occurs in Belarus just as Soviet forces crushed the progressive political changes occurring in Czechoslovakia in 1968.

Let Ukrain and its neighbors deal with it. Not our country and not our war.
