You mean its not realistic for a pretty standard 1935 Chinese battleship to cost more than 40 times what an Iowa class actually cost? Yeah, the devs vastly overestimated how much this stuff cost lol.

Assuming the game uses current day value instead of period value (which makes some sense) then the battleship cost only 2x what an Iowa class cost. Adjusted for inflation an Iowa class cost around $2.1b in today's dollar.

I would read it as after 1 hour you can withdraw for the 5 points... OR you can continue (sacrificing the rest of your ships i.e. you have lost >50%) to get more kills on the enemy fleet for a few more points. Or in your case, mopping up the small fry for the 10 point enemy wipe. More Funny Memes :D

Something I discovered recently if you want absurdly sized speedy ships is the Italian large cruiser II, a BC hull with a max tonnage of about 40k, has a design speed of 38.5 knots which will let you get up to about 43 knots before you fall over the magic cliff that adds ten thousand tons for a extra knot of speed. This hull is available at 1930 in the ship designer, and the only hull in the game with a higher design speed is the UK's super BC hull which isn't available until 1935 in the designer and has a much higher max tonnage. If you want a stupidly fast large cruiser/small battlecruiser hull the Italian hull is a lot of fun. Sadly you can't have 8in main batteries on it, which is the max size the medium gun barbettes for thetriple superfiring shenanigans support.

If you just want fast, take any hull with 90-95+ Hullform and a starting max speed of 30 knt or above and go to -10% on draft and beam, this pushes the cliff out of the speed scale, and voila you can now have a 45 knt BC. So for instance this works on, all the modern CL, Scout Cl, all the modern CA, (BC 5 and above as far as i remember) and even some of the Modern BB hulls. Then run a Diesel 1 engine for the 75% Cruise speed and you now have a above 25 knt cruise speed gun platform.

He chose that requirement to make it more challenging for him. i.e. That was a difficulty penalty he had to overcome. (wasted deck space and tonnage.)

@@CouchPotator Yes, but now it seems they retreat even when they have the numerical superiority. It happens to most of the admirals this week actually, the Chinese fleet retreats from the considerably smaller Japanese fleet.

Yah, somehow the AI knows what kind of ships you have, before they ever spot you. Sounds like a broken mechanic to me. Who wants to play a game that has the enemy mostly running away. I would sail for the in game 4 hours and never see a single ship. I did find away to maybe get the cowardly AI to return... I just stop the ships. stop wasting fuel and just sit there, for 4 hours in game. sometimes they show up. but if they don't I didn't waste all my fuel chasing them.

If i remember correctly, the tall barbette for small guns can fit 8" gun, not sure if quads can but I know triple can, so you can have a theoretical 30 gun broadside

If you are already at 200+% engine efficiency is there still a benefit to going forced boilers? I personally would go natural for the weight, or balanced for the lower smoke interference. Great vid as always though

With the current version and the DIP mod, you can fit 8x4 8" guns on 1950s tech cruisers, specifically japanese cruisers. The broadside is spectacular.

Hey stealth here's a Interesting tactic for a campaign if you do a naval invasion just send your entire fleet while yes it does leave you vulnerable it works suprisingly well for me. Even when im playing austria hungary ON LEGONDARY DIFFICULTY also max out transport capacity so you dont have econimic problems

That oversteer issue is one I've been seeing for several months with fast heavy/battlecruisers. Since a 38+ kt BC is my go-to endgame design, it is really driven me away from the game. I had shelved it for around 4 months now, only to recently start a campaign. Seeing that this bug persists... Might end this campaign early.

Think it is a bug, since my ships do not have that much roll. Also, it does not happen if I use manual rudder control. I think the game can't quite figure out how to handle speed+length at this level.

10:30 On some ships you can quad stack 8" guns so you have one on the deck, two on the double barbette like that, and then one on a really tall barbette or on a barbette on the raised section of a ship or on a tower.

Maybe I have misread the interface during the ship design phase, but it felt like you've misaligned one of the turrets which gave the ship a tilt. So maybe that's why it's going in zigzag pattern and oversteering to compensate?

I don't think anyone would bother setting up a scenario, if the objective was to run away. That is what the programmed AI does on a regular basis. We are human, so I would think we would be above the running away in a video game.
