Wow, yes, that would be even better than the Blackwing (to me anyway) because of how much weight it would take off the nose of the car vs. the supercharged V8. Though it's a lot of fun to be able to stomp on the gas and spin the tires in multiple gears with the V8 ;-)
The LF4 is in the CT4V Blackwing. Which speced with minimum features is the same price as a fully equipped CT5 V-series. And that's where this car falls short. An enthusiast buyer would buy the CT4BW which no features over this and just live with less space and standard seats. What this car needed was a naturally aspirated V8. Gives the enthusiasts the choice between speed and theater.
Just bought one of these in infrared tintcoat with the premium package and you are spot on. Perfect family car with a little bit of performance. It’s to bad you didn’t have the seat massagers cause it makes driving the car super relaxing
I have a 2023 CT5-V in Argent Silver Metallic. Great everyday driver! I was a Mercedes guy prior to this one, and I must say this is a better car for the money. Out the door (taxes tags everything) I got mine for just over $51k... This car can't be beat for that price!
Yes, the CT5-V is a good car & solid value. It does not, however compare to the Blackwing with gobbs of torque & insane power on demand. Also there's the 308 hp difference & expect to pay twice what this car costs to own one. I ordered my V-Series in Rift Metallic (ceramic white) with beige (looks like oyster-white) & black two tone leather interior w/red stitching & red seat belts. The panoramic roof was a must for $1,500. Overall it's still a solid feeling luxury car that will run like hell if you accelerate aggressively. Most of the speed is thanks to the lightning quick shifting 10 speed auto & low (fast) acceleration gearing. On the highway, it rides uber silently, at a leisurely 1,550 rpm at 60 mph. My best (avg) mpg was 35 mpg. That depends on individual driving habits, traffic & speeds. For me, this car is perfect & speaking of "elongated", did you see s KIA Stinger? That car LOOKS considerably longer, but actually is 2" shorter. The CT5 is virtually the same length as a 2022 Honda Accord. My car MSRP'd at $62,000 Very well equipped.
You said that 99% of the time people will keep it in tour “default mode” This car is equipped with MY MODE. It lets you dial up the steering, brakes, transmission, suspension and exhaust note any way you like it. Once set the car will always start in my mode so you can get the benefit of V mode
Thanks for the video. When I was into fast cars in the 1970's, I went back and forth between wanting a louder exhaust to wanting a nice quiet sleeper exhaust (65 GTO with a 389 cu in V8.) When I had the quiet exhaust on, the car seemed faster than it was. Subjectively of course.
Good balanced review my man, I think ya nailed where it lands. I have a C8 already, so I think this car will be the perfect sporty but comfortable daily
You mention the Audi S6 and BMW M340. The bimmer is a good bit smaller I think and I believe (not entirely sure) both are significantly more expensive - at least the Audi is. This Cadillac looks like a really nice ride. Gonna start looking for one on the used market.
The Caddy is by far the best value across the competition. I was really impressed with how useable and capable it is. I think if you can get this used within your budget, you will be happy. The only thing id be looking for is the upgraded interior or better color choices.
Just got a 2023 blackraven ct5v traded in a 2020 Daytona 392 dodge charger and I do not regret it at all love it just put some 20x11 rears and 20x10 front ferrada cm2 matte black with gloss black lip tht black on black looks amazing and I have the massaged seats as well luv it!
Lol, I traded my range rover sport for this exact car in the same trim and color, couldnt be happier with it, i got sucked in the Cadillac brand driving my wifes 2020 escalade 👍
For some reason that Infotainment display seems to create a lot of static electricity, which is what attracts all the dust. I was going to comment on how dusty it was, LOL 🙂
Just bought a V. I love mine all the way down to the shocks. This dude is CAP. SO WHAT if it does not "Bespoke" to him. And to HELL with him; I GOT A BLACK ONE and it is SEXY and SPORTY AF. 100%
@PointShiftDrive You had a lot of positive things to say about the car. And you did emphasize, "but that's just me". Like you can understand why others would like it a different way.
@@PointShiftDrive argent silver, with black wheels. I bought it because it came in a week after I had just ordered a white one with bronze wheels. I’ll sell this one once mine is ready.
Im sure someone has tuned it. These cars are monsters out of the box. Not sure more power is what they need. But either way, a great platform to grow with.
Yeah it’s pretty subjective. It doesn’t make a huge difference at all. As long as you’re happy with it and you enjoy with the car can do for you and it fits your life that’s what really matters.
Perhaps. But I do like that Cadillac is making one model into multiple trim levels rather than multiple cars. It leaves room for faster hotter versions.
If you find a deal, you should jump on it. It really is a great car and you won’t be disappointed. It just offers so much, practicality reliability, and also fun.
Really want to love this car But the performance is a letdown. Can’t beat a scatpack can’t beat a genesis. Definitely not beating m550i. Barely beats a tlx type s. Like what was Cadillac really doing with calling this a V. Especially fully optioned out at 70k. I just think you have way better options out there than this.
@@PointShiftDrive thanks to your review, it helped me finally decide on the CT5-V, even the 2023 model (saved a few bucks). I appreciate the video, awesome review style!
In canada can get for 50k Canadian maybe 2022 used with very low kms Cars used to be so expensive no one is buying here and sitting at dealers for years some dealers gave up the bs over peiced cars and have no choice but to sell And people who got toyota or honda from years ago or Volkswagen are keeping them Till now i saw only 2 or 3 vw atlas since came out and till now i saw only maybe 2 or 3 jeep wagonner and maybe 2 jeep grand wagonner I live in toronto busy city People mostly buy honda crv which is brand new 40 grand and 50 for hybird you cant go wrong Let me give you example of how much your paying if you finance A Hyundai palisade new its 60 to 65k plus tax about 8k plus bs dealer inspection fees about 3 which i dont know why we have to pay to inspect new car and why new car need to be inspected and why needs to be inspected in our expense arent we buying new car? And shouldnt have problens?. So 65k plus 8k tax plus 3k dealer fees plus if you finance about 5 or 7 years 8k You are paying over 80k for a very basic brand im talking Hyundai and kia and never mind if you buy other brands So this car agter 7 years these suvs arent worth even half what you pay so who would wanna lose 50k value in 7 years or more . Pricez are so ridiculous honestly and interest rate What i dont get is dealers have tons of cars sitting even from years ago new never sold but still stubborn and selling cars with high price These companies in canada like kia and Hyundai are way over their head their prices are more then Toyota and honda and arent even close as good Honda pilot 2024 is 60k fully loaded Hyundai palisade fully loaded over 65k Many companies will lose their market and customers for getting too confident and selling garbage for luxury car prices and for best brand car prices I might move to American cars at least you do get what you pay for and you do get a full car not just some cheap materials to make it look cool My next car is definitely going to be american im 100% sure i just hope they dont keep over pricing their cars and lose touch with reality Over all for the price you do get a full car like this Cadillac Im thinking to get a second hand either ct5 or ct5 v depends on the price difference But i think i fell in love with this car and design I rarely see any of them here in Canada toronto its a beautiful luxury car I just hope reliability is good with this car and not a lemon rushed production like American companies do always
I havent heard anything negative about reliability or quality so far. But no car is without its "things" just get what you want and can afford and take care of it, and enjoy~
@@PointShiftDrivethe last cts made wad 2019 and it's a whole ft longer than the 2024 3 series.....that's a huge difference. The Ct5 is a couple inches shorter than the cts making about 10 inches longer the 3 series. In the car game thats a big difference
@@firefighterslife8762 I didnt realize its quite that much longer... however, much of that length really is truck and bumper. when you compare livable manned space, its a different story. however, I do get what you mean. the CT5 drives smaller than it looks but still a large car driving. the BMW 3 actually shrinks a bit better but not by much either. just large vehicles. im glad they exist. there are use cases for large cars.
I loooove the look of this car, fighting the urge to pick up one and if I do, no apologies, it's going to be black, I love your video but I don't share your enthusiasm for cadillacs in vibrant colors, this car looks so damn good dressed in black
THAT IS AWESOME! I am a bit jealous because this is a car that can do it all... and its so fun to drive. I actually dont mind it in black but I think it starts to look like an Uber or mob car. BUT color is subjective. get what you love. Dynamics wise, I think you will be happy. Will you leave it stock?
@@PointShiftDrive Yea I'm looking at a 2020 CT-5 in my area around 46k with pretty low miles and it's in black and I'm cool with the mobster look but the uber is true as well haha. I am pretty boring and do tend to keep my cars stock, which is why I'm fiending for this car as I like the looks and feel the performance / livability of this car is a sweet spot so I won't feel the need to do too much to it
