Microsoft should implement a fallback bugcheck screen. Use the 640 x 480 mode with the Lucida Console font, keep the text as the modern one (including the sad emoticon).
@@TBRHS the earlier builds of prerelease Windows 8 prior to the black screen did have a more high res version of the Windows XP - 7 BSOD. I kinda want to make a mockup of a fallback BSOD would look like on Photoshop and possibly hack the legacy that or the Windows XP-7 BSOD into 10/11 by modifying system files, registry, and setting the BCD flag.
I believe the code for that has been overwritten by the new startup screen. With modified system files, bcdedits, and registry tweaks, it could be possible?
