I miss my german shepherds so veryyy much. We smuggled Toby back with us leaving Afghanistan. Almost got caught in the last leg of the journey. Toby was a essential member of our team, saving lives n was on par with our missions. RIP Toby, you were worth the risks associated with your journey. He got to enjoy his life as our family had member for 5 years. Everyone loved Toby, especially young children. Everywhere we went in down time, we'd always find Toby loving the affection from kids. Some how, Toby had the abilities to know threats far beyond our own. Yet, when the game went live he was ALL BUSINESS. So many dogs were left in Afghanistan n I absolutely hate the brass for their ignorance.
I’m sorry for your loss, losing a dog is really rough. I have a female German Shepherd, and she does the exact same head tilt when I talk to her. it’s pretty amazing how many words they can understand. ❤️
Do military dogs seriously get left behind after their service ? Please tell me this doesnt really happend😢🙏🙌 Please God, let humans not have stooped to this level🙏 When will people finally accept and understand that dogs are so much more inteligent, intuitive, understanding than we could ever be. We simply dont deserve them !
@@ladyjane6298 lady Jane, Tarzan hungry, need food n loving. LOL Just kidding there, strange sense of humor at times. Grin 🤪 We misfits develop our own language n jokes of sorts,,, Jane, I really wish I could say all soldiers big n small n 4 legged ALL come home after playing in the sand box. But the ugly truth is a veryyy large amount of military dogs are purposely left abandoned. Many get shot by team guys so they don't get abused n used in pit fights or even worse, end up on some pos dinner tables. The last leg of the journey home, a inventory specialist trying to impress his SSgt to earn his 2nd stripe heard Toby. An saw the opportunity for advancement, regardless of how he gets it. Praise Jesus that I heard the ending portion of his conversation with another person. He was prepared to run off the deck, I caught him n we had a chat. In so manyyy words, I told him that if our dog leaves so WILL he. I don't know if he saw my red eyes glowing brighter or what, but we had a clear understanding. You gotta do the right thing sometimes or some jerk off will end things their CO wants through fear. Guess he feared Toby's neck attack command or Toby n myself together. We all could have ended up in deep dodo. I explained how fortunate he was Not experiencing the outcome of the rat/ferret/weasel, tin bucket n wire n propane torch got results from experience. Just kidding there too, or was I? Too much time under the bridge. Anyway, too ole a paradog now. Nothing but memories, yet fortunately blessed being alive n walking even with a cane no less. Must have caught me at a weak moment, lookin around, nothing wet, good to Go. God Bless Jane,,,
Maybe not everything, but science says they can understand 200-300 words of everyday human speech. Just to compare: The average human understands 20,000-30,000 words out of all words in their own language.
I talked to my shepherd constantly for 13 years. She understood everything. We were very bonded and I took her everywhere with me. She passed away 2 months ago and I still feel that grief to my core.
I have a 7 year old German Shepherd I love him... and I think abt that all the time its like anticipatory grief. I'm sorry for ya loss ,friend. 🫂❤ God bless you with your dog for 13 years he was a gift to you and God loves you for taking care of his animals. You will be blessed bc I know your an animal lover . I pray for you my friend merry Christmas God loves ya and I love ya and ya dogo Is with you always he still watches you
I remember when I was a kid…maybe 10 years old, our dog died and my parents were adamant that we weren’t going to get another one. I remember saying these exact words “What’s a home without a dog?” Within a week we got another one.
@@Whoopdido777I agree a home needs a dog. Though when I lost my pit boxer mix, floyd, a couple years back. I couldn't fathom the idea of getting another. For whatever reason I felt like I was turning my back on my boy if I just replaced him after 11years together. Needed time to mourn I suppose. Turns out he sent me a new friend from the grave. About 8 months later a beautiful GSD showed up on the farm. Very skittish full of anxiety didn't even know how to eat from a bowl. I still thought someone may show up looking for him. Yet here we are 2+ years later the best of friends. Thank you Floyder's for the gift from beyond.
There's people that say talking to a dog is dumb, but my dog is the only dog in the neighborhood that doesn't need leash when I take her for a walk, she's obedient and listens to commands
@@tgshark1u really should leash them tho. There wild animals and training and good behavior only goes so far. I've heard stories of the best trained dogs suddenly killing someone else's dog out of nowhere for no reason. There not robots
@@Nabekukkaactually they do understand a lot of things, i had 2 dogs and believe me they are smarter than you can imagine. Im not saying they understand everything but definetly a log of things
This pup pays better attention to his dad’s conversation than LOTS of people I know !!! He is precious and deserving of loving attention !!! Dad is doing a fantastic job with the sweet care he’s giving to this special “best friend” … 👍👍 ✨💖✨
@@francinep.8592 go and look at his second recent short and you will see what i'm talking about. Buddy has a caramel fur and eyes and Pal has a darker fur and eyes
They would put their own life in danger to save their owner. They can be so loyal and loving. I have a Pekingese and schnauzer mix and she is the most stubbornness dog I've ever had. I should have named her hard-headed.😮
@@InDadequate No..."Buddy" was Mr. Mike's first German Shepherd that died late last year. He got "Pal" when "Buddy" was still around to be his and "Buddy's" Pal, while "Buddy" got to be Mr. Mike's and "Pal's" Best Bud...for a time at least.
@@joowoo That tugs the heartstrings if so... for the longest time I didn't even realize that "Buddy" had passed, I guess I figured he'd had a great groomer because "Pal was roughly the same size when I first subscribed. I think it was the video of "Pal" looking at the picture of "Buddy" that I realized and then backtracked to the videos of "Pal" as a puppy.
@@JonBoullion1020Yes it’s definitely Buddy in the video. 😊 He tilted his head a lot more than Pal does (at least for now) and he has a lot more golden colours in his coat. Thank you for explaining to people who they all are. R.I.P Buddy. He and Mike had a great life together at least, it’s so heartbreaking though. Bless their paws. 🐾 ❤
I love, love love German shepherds! Just look how handsome this guy is! And they're so easy to train! And you can tell that this guy really grooms and cleans him! Just look how clean he looks! His coat is beautiful!
Theres been proof that pets (not just dogs) can understand a lot more than weve given them credit for over the years. Dogs and cats are extremely intelligent and while they dont have the comprehension skills we do, they can still understand pretty basic stuff like this. I've had mini conversations with my grandma's dog (best dog ever), and you can tell they know what you mean, even if you're just praising them for being a good pup and taking care of your grandparents. If you have a cat its the same, you just have to know how to real their body language instead of just vocalizations. This dog is absolutely obsessed and tuned into his human, and that just shows what a good pet owner this guy is. This man is this dog's home. Pup could have nothing else and be happy. Pets are a blessing.
Dogs understand certain words if you say it enough for certain things like my dog will now spin when I say spin without swirling a treat in my hand and when I say squirrel he runs to the widow to go outside as he knows it’s the creature he likes to chase
Dogs are far more angelic than humans! Their master is their whole world. A dog would give their all to save his master no matter what. At times I feel we do not deserve them!
@@NM-gy6tx thank you! I’ve met a few people that listen very well and I hate to see them getting lumped in with everyone else. There’s plenty of people with big hearts and open ears.
That's a beautiful boy! Man he Loves you! He holds on to every word you say. He will never let you down. And no doubt would lay his life on the line for you...
OF COURSE he can understand. Dogs are smart, more than most people realize. He may not understand everything that is said, but enough to pick out certain often-said words to follow along. I love dogs;)
I love cats that are just independent they do their thing, but dogs are so loyal if you treat them right, they can be your best friend and protect you until the end, I love seeing these videos, that's a man's best friend.
Absolutely ! My German Shepard had an understanding of an extensive vocabulary. He would retrieve what was asked of him. He lived 14 long years and was SO perfect as my daughter’s friend from birth. He was only a few months older than she was. Miss you Abi. 🐕
This dog is precious!!! They have a special bond! My Boston terriers do this and very much recognize certain words and phrases and react accordingly. The one thing my youngest smallest little girl does that breaks my heart is she cries and cries if I’m getting ready and I don’t tell her she can go. It’s so pitiful!
I miss my baby so much, he absolutely LOVED all babies/kids (he fostered a litter of 5, 5 week old kittens and let them try nursing while he cleaned them up after eating) and would whine if he saw a kid, I cannot tell you how many people I asked if their kids could give my dog some loves…he almost made it to 14 years old and we are coming up to a year since I lost him.
