Protip: Marauder only spawns ghost wolves if you shoot his shield, so it's a punishment for fucking up. Unfortunately he'll occasionally spawn ghost wolves if enemies shoot his shield too but this is uncommon.
@bigevilworldwide1 Most people probably will disagree with you, because people praised the new combat. The games gives a variety of tools and challenges the player to use it appropiately. It reminds me of Zelda where you need to use certain items to defeat enemies easier. It makes the game more fun imo.
@Winter You're missing the point and just HAD to come in with an ''Ummm actually'' reply no one wanted. Tyrant by name, sure, but they are very much the classic Cyberdemon.
Watching your play through makes me want to run through again lol. Such a well crafted game. Like every detail in the single player just feels like it was tuned and polished as much as it could be. Also... They have to put the Doomslayer in MK11... His moveset could translate very well.
@bigevilworldwide1 you can kill everything by just shooting at it untill it dies... except the Marauder. Although I have to say Max is suprisingly bad at this game :D
@bigevilworldwide1 The core of Doom has always been being a challenging FPS. Game media and journalism popularized it a few years ago as "ULTIMATE POWER FANTASY UNSTOPPABLE BADASS GUY" for whatever reason. It is not just "shooty shooty guy"... It never has been and it never will be :)
MK's methodical yet clunky-looking combat wouldn't fit the DOOM Slayer. He needs to be in a game that's much...much faster in comparison. (¬‿¬) *looks at Guilty Gear* ARCSYS PLS
@@airhead1320 he's saying MK11 because that's the only place where his pure violence would be appreciated. Though I will admit it would be funny to see the slayer as an anime character.
The fact that I don’t see any comment yet telling you to look for the Buff Totems and destroy it first before killing them all was making my anxiety rise through the roof
Agreed. I understand that the game conditions you to fight the arena full of demons before exploring, and then expects you to do the reverse, but geez, watching Max fight the empowered demons on the Mars mission, getting bonked by ultra fast fodder Doom Hunters while forgetting he has a Totem to find had me yelling at the screen.
I like how each level kind of relates to different players. There’s the level where it’s mostly just ripping and tearing the shit out of demons, there are levels where it’s heavily emphasizes exploration and environment based fights, with all of them revolving around the story.
That is one annoyance with the game--you just end up chainsawing basic enemies over and over and not seeing the cool animations for using it on bigger things. It would have been a nice touch if you could chainsaw any demon for one fuel when they were vulnerable to Glory Kills.
@@Feroce I think he's getting better, he already begun with the quick switching between the weapons, which is like the most important thing next to movement (which he still has to learn) when you want to play the game on Nightmare.
@Isrel156 another effective way and more cheap is to use shotgun/grenade luncher and throw the grenade behind him, is the most safe way that i found to face him, take longer but i dont need to rely in that small window "default way to kill him", the last difficulty 2 attacks and you are dead also they are much more agressive and fast.
Marauder used to be a pain in the ass, but he's my bitch now LMAO! Burn him down with the Ballista + Super Shotgun combo... fast swap between the two to mitigate the long reload/fire speed of both.
Breathe, Max, Breathe. The Marauder is a total pain in the ass, but there is a trick to his game. Notice how everything seems to glow red, from the sword and shield to the doggy he sends when you're beyond the mid range. Now, he doesn't ever seem to get rid of that red, but I have learned of a trick while researching footage from Upper Echelon Gamers (which complains non-stop about the creature breaking everything in the game) to decino (who remained cool-headed enough to quip sarcasm and annihilate the fucking creep without batting a lash). Here's how you do it. When the Marauder is about to deal an attack, his eye twinkles green like stars in his eyes. This is the scant cue you must go on. Now, you have to be in the mid to close range. This is your opening and it happens just before an attack. To take advantage, keep some kind of heavy-hitting weapon set as your immediate twitch response. Examples include the Ballista or the super-shotgun. Also consider switching between multiple heavy hits all at once because you will have staggered him long enough for two or three hits. Do this two or three times and the sucker should finally die. The Marauder is one of the shittiest creatures ever to exist in a video game, but the designers banked on our being primed to check for green lights as our avenues of advancement, on the map and in the hunt.
@bigevilworldwide1 doesnt doom guy say it when he gets a powerup? I mean, rip and tear is fucking killer, it's the main theme of 2016. They fucking roll with that shit
So does Max ever figure out that _every_ shield type is weak to plasma, the Ballista does extra aerial enemy damage, and missile locks are countered by dashing?
Man I've never being interested in the Doom franchise, don't know exactly why but! Seeing Max play, the music combined with the frenetic gameplay has got my attention now for the first time ever.
5:05:10 SPOILER The Doom Slayer IS the Doomguy from Doom 64 After the events of Doom64, at the end of the game he stays in Hell to fight off the Demons, so that they don't launch a new Invasion on Earth. He stayed there for decades, even centuries, who knows? But at one point one of the Demon Mother/Queen, opened up a Portal through time and space, and managed to chuck him through it. Where he would end up back in time on Sentinel Prime. He would join and ascend their Ranks, becoming the Doom Slayer and once again fighting off the Demonic Invasion of Argent Dur and Sentinel Prime. SPOILER SPOILER Unfortunatly his arrival also gave the Maykr's a new objectif, if at first they where fighting the Demons in earnest. They quickly found out that the energy that was making the Demons powerfull, could be used by the Maykr's themselfs for their own designs... They called it "Argent" energy and made it pass as one of their "Blessings" to the Sentinels, wich was empowered by this new found power. Its also at this time that the Daeg Priests started to get corrupted. Argent energy is nothing more than the Energy extracted from the Souls of Mortals and their blood. While it is a neccesary energy source for the Denizens of the Dark Realms, they actually need little of it. But the Maykr's..., with this power they could become near immortal, preventing them to die (for all their bullshit of being Divine beings, they're just a race of Aliens made by the Father (God) but at one point they will degenerate and die, and this is a fate that they wanted to prevent at ALL COST, and them finding the truth behind the Demonic Energy and how it was harvested, was perfect for them) Argent/Demonic energy is harvested by Ripping the Soul of a mortal, his empty Husk turning into a Demon... So the Mayk'rs made a deal with the Dark Lord, that they would get most of the "Argetn" energy they could harvest for themselfs, and in exchange they would give the Hell Minions plenty of Worlds to Conquer and Bleed Dry. A Portion of the Night Sentinels discovered this, and started a rebellion, led by the Doom Slayer. The Daeg Priests was on their "side" supposedly and send them in Hell where the Soul FActory was to make Argent energy, and all thos Sentinels went to blow it up cutting off the flow of Argent. They where Betrayed by the Priests who shut the Portal behind them, trapping them in Hell ( thats why you see all these Sentinels Mechs and bodies all over the place when you first go to Hell in the first missions) With only a few of them surviving including the Slayer. I don't remember how, but the Slayer was captured and entombed in a sarcophagus. Wich is the one Dr Hayden find and brings back in Doom 2016 and from wich the Doom Slayer awaken from at the start of the game.
Max: imma ignore all these lil dudes here Also Max: time to walk backwards once again right into the lil dudes i swear every time he ends up taking major damage has either been during a boss or a result of walking backwards, i wonder how Max-immediately-after-Doom-2016 would do
dear max, i really don’t like speaking about how i feel but i just wanna say thank you cuz you helped me even if you don’t know that you did, i’m having a really bad time in my life ( you don’t wanna hear about it trust me ) and i found your channel and watched like tons of your videos it always makes me forget the bad things that are going on with my life and just makes me laugh and mainly makes me happy soo thank you max, and sry if i made this comment long .
I'm also going through a really difficult periode at the moment, have been for months, but Max always seems to cheer me up, and keeps my mind occupied for a little while at least. Hang in there and stay strong, there is no other alternative.
TheRealJonster it’s nice when pepole at rough times stand by each other, i hope everything works out for both of us, this shows how strong wr are my friend ❤️
5:23:45 It's not that he came from the "first" game. The events those Codex entries are referencing take place after Doom 64, and years before the events of DOOM 2016. The new Doom games aren't a separate continuity from the games of the 90s, so Doom Eternal is basically "Doom 5".
A lot of the times your getting "insufficient fuel" is because your crosshairs are not on the enemy... your chat was incorrect. Anything from a zombie, imp, soldier, shield soldier, and the acid spitting bitches, and gargoyles can be sawed. Also the Terminator looking zombies that either have a plasma arm or flamethrower... so at 40:00 theres a dude right there you can just saw, die.. and you'll be at full ammo at checkpoint. Overthinking it bro. ggs! can't wait for the nightmare when your just zipping through this shit lol...
Advice for dealing with the Marauders,, use the Rockets to use the splash damage by aiming behind him, you can use the BFG if you time it right(see markiplier)
oh man this game is AWESOME! yea the rip and tear chants in the back is rly hype. gosh i died and had so many resets on this boss (lost all my 1ups on the first attempt and had to do it on one life) max nailing the slayer gates and everything on ultra violence is like geez. i had a hard enough time on the hurt me plenty difficulty XD
Spend so much time with little to no armour, yet every fodder demon you come across rarely gets flame belched 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ You can use the flame belch AND the chainsaw 🤷♂️
The Marauder fights I use the combat shotgun grenade mod & shoot right behind his ass. That's worked best for me especially all the next fights his as shows up in. Awesome game, been playing DOOM since I was 10 way back in '91, thanks to my cousin bringing it over on his 3.5" floppy disc. It made my mom say it was too violent for me to play, lol 🙂👍
Yo dood, I actually think you were on to something when you wanted to throw an explosive barrel at an enemy and shoot it, while you can't throw one you could always dash into one to send it at them then shoot it
Is Max's lack of proper meat hook use with the stupid slowdown rune triggering to anyone else? That stupid rune was hampering the best gun in the game.
@@lilboy7642 we all have our own style. So As long as he's enjoying it I guess that's all that matters. That slow mo meat hook takes all the fun and momentum outta the fight for me. But each too their own I guess.
Watching this is so painful having played the game myself and knowing the story and how combat functions. This man does not know how to manage his ammo, but hopefully he gets better lol
I think it's more him not knowing when to chainsaw (in the Gladiator fight, he used rockets to kill several fodder demons even though he had 3 fuel left and most of his weapons were out of ammo).
I felt like the fights in this game are way more hectic than 2016 lol it seems like the AI’s tracking is way more on point. I like how arcade like the game is too. Reminds me a lot of the original doom 2, I compare it to og doom 2 instead of 2016 in my brain for some reason. I WILL SAY that the first few missions of this game are the least fun for me. The later missions are incredible
I have to say, watching Max attempt to deal with the first Buff Totem in Super Gore Nest is kinda painful. He just got a hint thingy that told him that demons will _endlessly spawn_ until he takes the thing out, but he sees that it's behind a row of teeth in the wall and just assumes "oh I must have to kill all the enemies to unlock this." The game is specifically disincentivizing you from doing that... time to buckle up for the 500 deaths it'll take before he notices chat yelling at him lmao
When the abilities look top tier overpowered, yet you still get your ass whooped. This proves that you can make a challenging game without making it rigid as all fuck. Imagine the games that can make sense with this gameplay feel (speed, no need for sprint or ADS, high adrenaline), like Borderlands or maybe Destiny.
anyone else notice how the gun sits straight down the middle? I have the game but all the weapons from the characters perspective is to the side like a normal fps game.
