This game is awesome! Been waiting for something like this for years! As a fan of Star Trek, and animes like Legend of Galactic Heroes, Nadesico, Uchuu Senkan Yamato, I'm really thankfull for this game and already whishlisted!

Yes, with good ole' 2023 body positivity and over-diversity. Don't remember that in Yamato, Star Blazers, Macross, Harlock, etc.

I played the demo! So far i think it looks promising. The idea of having a ship and being able to customize it to your own desire is very cool. The missions are a good way of allowing players to collect resources Though the controlls can be off a bit sometimes and managing all of the crew can be confusing, i think overall its a nice demo!

I feel like combat could be turn based and still be wicked. Fighters, missile volleys, point defense. The works. Still watching, I want to see this succeed.

Star Traders: Frontiers might be what you're looking for. It's 2d, different aesthetic, loosely based on a Dune-like universe. There are a lot of ship models to buy or upgrade to from an initial three, mod support, and the interiors are customizable, but you won't see crew moving in them or anything. Just the blueprints. The crew itself is 100% customizable and everyone has a character sheet and inventory. You assign officers and enlisted to various roles, they have perk points to level up, and they can die or be wounded badly. If your ship is boarded, everyone fights, so you'd better have good boarding defense. Combat itself can be personal or in space and is turn-based. No time passes until you take a turn, and no time passes unless your ship is moving. There ARE still time limits for initial main quest missions, but they're like, 2 to 5 years of game time, and you can ignore them completely if you want. However, they affect the BIG game where an interstellar war is brewing. What missions you do, which factions you support or oppose, all that affects the outcome of the situation across something like 30 years of in-game time. So yeah, there's a time limit, but kind of in the same way that you'd better finish the game before you die IRL. It DOES take a while. Warning: RNG IS a factor.

Yeah, that was my thought. I'd rather be roaming the universe with time to explore and a general mission on a game like this Not that it doesn't look fun; it totally does.
