Which fast food restaurant do you think has the best fish?

does anyone remember arthur treachers fish n chips??? my grandfather was british n thats where i experienced fried fish for the first time, malt vinegar n everything...was a long time ago, i'm 51...but i'm bout 8 miles from lake ontario, so there is good fish abound!!! cheers!!!

Culver's North Atlantic Cod Filet Sandwich by far best fast food fish sandwich.

I agree Culvers without a question has the best fish either Cod or Walleye. This followed by Checkers are the two best

I guess I'm just a weird American because I love ALL FISH and Seafood---except trout. I'd eat it at least 4 days a week, but my husband only tolerates high-end tuna and whole battered fish filets. So I supplement my craving for fish with anchovies, sardines, and canned mackerel. Oh well... I really missed the fact that the Long John Silvers we had in Billings, MT closed years ago. I enjoyed your video!

Another vote for Culver's. Best fish sandwich hands down.

loved Arthur Treacher, especially the malt vinegar. I eat fish all the time, and will buy a bottle of the vinegar.

In the late 1970s Burger King had a fish sandwich called the Whaler. It was a thick piece of deep-fried breaded cod on a steamy soft bun with a tasty tartar sauce. The cost of its quality ingredients led to its demise. I miss it.

Culver's has a great fish sandwich. Hands down.

I would choose Long John Silver's but they're retreating from this market (if not from everywhere) and are hard to find. Culver's would be second. Their fish filet is actually recognizable as a piece of fish. Nobody would be third, though I sometimes choose fish from the menu of fast food joints and pretend it's a healthier choice.

"Skippers Fish and Chips" in my opinion has always had the best fish for a fast food restaurant.

I don't understand how Long John Silvers is still in business. People make jokes about taco bell sending you to the toilet but LJS is the real culprit here. I can't even walk into a Long John Silvers without spending at least an hour on the can afterwards

LJS has been horrible for a long time. The food used to be much better. It was always very greasy but at least had some flavor. The one closest to me closed about 4 years ago. Nobody misses it. We had a local drive through place that closed about the same time. It had a great fish sandwich. Had to literally be the smallest restaurant I’ve ever seen. It was basically the size of your kitchen at home. Central Park was the name of it. Loved that place, everything was great there.

The only thing I order at McDonalds is a filet of fish sandwich and I always ask for it to be freshly made. YUM!

It's no wonder LJS won this competition, from what I've seen Long John Silver's primarily sells fish and the main reason people would go there is to eat fish. Nobody goes to LJS to primarily eat chicken or shrimp....a seafood joint should have the best fish sandwich.

I love fish. At McDonald's you can order a double best thing about their sandwich is OUTSTANDING tatar sauce!!

I like Arby's fish and McDonald's tartar sauce. If I could just get the two together I think that would be the perfect fish sandwich. I'm fortunate to live near the last remaining Arthur Treacher's and I usually go there when I'm in the mood for fish.

My favorite is MCD or if available Culver’s cod sandwich…which is excellent and not greasy… my all time favorite is H&Salt Fish and chips! In Asia, the fish is tipia..pretty damn good too.

No Captain D's, while White Castle is in this survey? Captain D's is way better than any of these and just who goes to White Castle for a fish sandwich?

When I was little we had H.Salt fish & chips. I always loved the extra pieces of fried batter under the filets.

It's fairly new, so maybe that's why it wasn't evaluated, but the Cajun flounder sandwich at Popeye's is wonderful!

Best catfish in the world is at Long's Fish Camp in Enterprise, Mississippi. Not fast food, no Michelin stars, but the fish is GREAT!

it's funny that this same channel was mostly negative on their review of Long John Silvers. My favorite fish sandwich is Culver's Walleye . . . when it is available :)

That was not a good comparison. Burger joints against a fish place. The better comparison would be all restaurants that feature mostly fish. Where was Captain D'Souza on this list???

You have to admit Long John Silver's is good especially when you're really hungry.

Micky D's is top flight provided 2 factors are present ------ The FoF must - MUST be freshly made!!!!!! Must be on sale for about 1/2 of what they are charging. Back when the double cheeseburger was on the dollar menu round here so was the FoF. While my Cardiologist moaned and mt bathroom scale groaned I'd still get of the bus after work right in front of a Micky's and order 3 double cheese and 7 Filets. My quarter mile walk home enjoyed a filet and the others were relished over - the double cheese were the pallet cleanser. These days they want over 5 bucks a piece. Worth 3 even if fresh. Come on - they are the size slightly larger then happy meal hamburger you give a 4 yr old. I've not been impressed with BK, Wendy's, LJS, and Checkers were the worst. Miss those dollar days and even when the $1 menu went out they still did them on Fridays for a couple years ( that be about 2010 ). Shrug.

I'll take a Filet-O-Fish from McDonald;s every time! Alaskan Pollack with half a slice of warm cheese, and just the right amount of tarter sauce.

Without a doubt, Arthur Treacher's has the best fish from any fast food restaurant. I live pretty close to the only one left in Ohio (apparently only ten left in the country).

What happened to Long John Silvers? All their restaurants closed down in our state & nearby states about 15 years or so ago? I made a trip north from N. Florida to NJ 2 years ago & look for a sign anywhere to go to their restaurant. No luck at all~! PJ

Long Johns doesn't surprise me. It is still a real filet of fish battered when cooked. Arthur Treaters Depending who you ask. There are 1-10 stores left in the US. I live near one. It is call Marino's It is still the same. Picture liter the walls of Arthur Treaters at it's peek. I go there at least once a month. Burger King used to have one hell of a fish sandwich 35 years ago. It was called the Whaler. It was a real piece of fish that hung over the bun with lots of tartar sauce. It is when these so called sandwiches when to major processing of fish patties. I stopped eating them.

The LJS in my area were absolutely horrible. They have long since closed and thought they had gone out of business completely. Happened after they switched to Pollock. Maybe it's a location thing

Long john silver doesn't heat the cooking oil hot enough, resulting in their fish dripping with oil! Don't go there!

In my opinion, Skipper's used to offer the best fish of any fast food chain! Lightly breaded and never over cooked, it seemed like it was always good. Unfortunately, they're all but gone now.

Plenty of Captain Ds here in the southeast and a few Long John Silvers. LJS has the better bang for your buck but their fish does tend to be greasy in the ones here. Capt D's similar in taste to LJS to me but fish portions are smaller here for the same price. Mostly I go to local or regional places like Sharks or JJ's fish & chicken which were a midwest thing for me but , have begun to pop up here in the southeast.

I've never had a 'fishwich' from LJS, but their fish in general is quite good for a fast-food restaurant. OTH, MacDonald's, has the best fish sandwich I've ever eaten.

I find the bun is almost as important as the fish/burger. A good bun can really make a sanwich.

That's true, the 20 min drive to my closest location is worth it imo, if your craving battered fish and chicken on the go.

The best fast food FISH is from a chain that's not even on your list, and it isn't even close. The upper midwest fast food chain Culver's has by far the best fish.

You can make the best at home when you deep fry a filet of breaded Cod fish in a deep fryer.

Not many national chains have boats that actually go out and fish. So, it's all from whom they order. Whataburger sometimes orders the oversized fillet, a giant fish portion that overwhelms the bun. If you are in their area, try one and see...

The LJS in our part of town is still high quality. I remember Arthur Treachers and Captain D's. For burger barns, McD's and Culver's have good fish. I haven't tried any other fast food place. I'd be afraid to try Burger King!

We don't have a LJS anymore cuz the owner refused to raise the pay beyond minimum wage so no one wanted to work there cuz everyone else raised their pay so the owner decided to close the restaurants down and shutter the doors instead of raise the pay. It's ok cuz they were run into the ground cuz all the cheap skate cutting corners

I went to Long John's last week and found the fish portions were way smaller than usual.

In Utah, we have a fast food chain called Artic Circle. Best fish ever!

To not include Culver's on this list is criminal! They feature 2 varieties of fish sandwiches, North Atlantic Cod year round, and Walleye during Lent. Both of them are vastly superior tp every sandwich on this list. You can also get the Cod as a dinner item with home made side dishes.

I think Wendy's that brings out a fish sandwich for Lent is pretty good. I would have liked to see this one in this taste test.

I liked McDonalds yrs ago but it got smaller than the bun and changed flavor and stunk...then tried arbys same thing...last time a yr ago at Dubuque Ia Hardee's..spicey fish combo...great......

I love Culver's fish dinners. I used to get fried catfish at work that was great in the 80's. I not fond of any of your fish places, all bad to me.

I’ll say it again. If you have a good, consistent Checkers&Rally’s location near you; theirs is the best.

Quality does vary between locations though. Best FF fish Ive had was from Wendy's but they only serve it during Lent.
