I guess I'll have to be the elephant in the room here. Of course, they don't want you healthy. And it's not just about monetary gain. This planet is highly overpopulated. It's getting to a point where it's becoming dangerous to the ecosystems themselves. There is a movie called "Thank You For Smoking." In it, Erin Eckhart is a lobbyist for big tobacco. Once a week, he meets with two other lobbyists, one for alcohol and the other for firearms. They call themselves the MOD squad (Merchants of Death). When Katie Holmes's character, who is a reporter in the movie, asks Erin why he lobbies for tobacco, he says, "population control." At the end of that movie, more get added to the MODs, including big pharmacy and fast food. I'm not defending them, but if we don't have the discipline to control our population, something else has to. Lest we get a scenario like another movie, "Soylent Green."
When my life imploded 25 years ago (so much trauma that I lost my short-term memory for 2 years) my GP told me (because I didn’t want anti-depressants) to just go on long walks in nature every day. I walked 4 hours each day in rain, sleet and snow: it took 2 years but I got my memory back. It really works for stress and trauma and to this day, I walk at least 2 hours a day.
Thank you so much for sharing. You helped me understand what could be a reason for my mind continuously asking me to go for walks. Ohh and GP is short for General Practitioner?
Dr Berg notes In this video, Dr Berg shares some weight loss tips to help you achieve a flat stomach. Fat storage is a survival mechanism, but there is a limitation to how much fuel can be stored. Once your body is out of storage, fat is placed around the organs. This type of fat is called visceral fat. If visceral fat is stored for too long, it spills into your organs. This is called ectopic fat. The good news is that when you burn fat, this is the first to go. It’s not the number of calories that causes this excess fat storage; it’s the type of calories. Alcohol and ultra-processed foods like high fructose corn syrup cause visceral fat and liver fat. Chronic stress can even cause your body to turn things into sugar. Poor sleep can increase cortisol and visceral fat. Certain medications, such as steroids, antibiotics, antidepressants, and anti-anxiety drugs, can also increase visceral fat. Seed oils, refined sugars, and starches in the diet directly contribute to mitochondrial damage and visceral fat. To lose visceral fat, you need to eliminate ultra-processed calories. Instead, consume nutrient-dense foods like red meat, eggs, and fish. HIIT exercise is the best exercise for burning fat. HIIT involves short bursts of high-intensity exercise with rest. Weight training can help reduce belly fat by increasing muscle mass. Long walks can help reduce belly fat by burning fat and reducing stress. Vitamin B1 helps reduce stress and improve sleep. Nutritional yeast is one of the best sources of B1. Vitamin D can also help you lose weight. If you can’t go out in the sun, take at least 10,000 IU of vitamin D3. Make sure to take magnesium with vitamin D3 because it allows for vitamin D's proper function and helps improve sleep. Fasting also helps to burn fat fast by reducing insulin spikes. Thank you Dr Berg! 😺👍
@@keno7800 I just looked at the label on mine. It has 7 grams per 1/4 cup, including 4 grams of fiber, for a net carb count of 3 grams. And like the carbs in the veggies I eat, I don’t count these; but if you do, that’s still not bad if you use 1/4 cup at a time.
Thanks Dr Berg. I have reduced my visceral fat massively in my 412 days of Carnivore. I was level 19 on my smart scales now I'm tracking 8. My body fat % reduced from 25.4 to now 15.5%. A whopping 93-pound weight loss. Over 10 inches reduced from my waist. Quitting all sugar, processed foods and seed oils is a GAME-CHANGER. Quitting carbs was the best thing I ever did. I managed to achieve this after getting a Hasimoto's auto-immune diagnosis. This was my massive reason for starting this journey. I appreciate your knowledge, help and wisdom.
@@FrankJames4-ki3btExcept the "scariest doctor" literally holds seminars to teach thousands of doctors how to better heal their patients. Doctors need his advice bc they aren't learning the basics in med school. Be careful where you get your information. Dr. Berg never claimed to be a medical doctor but he literally gets his info from medical books- nothing "scary" about that.
@msw0011 I agree 100%. The cause of skyrocketing of all chronic diseases or illnesses that have been plaguing our society since the 70s and early 80s, like heart disease, pre-diabetes , T2D, hypertension, cancer, dementia, kidney disease, insulin-resistance and metabolic syndrome is due to low-fat, high carbohydrate diet, processed carbohydrates, all vegetable/seed oils, morning cereals, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, fructose and alcohol ..
I've seen this too, and people in public - all ages - have gone beyond fat to misshapen. Young teens are most conspicuous, with lumpy, distended bellies. It's actually beyond concerning. It's scary the way it's too late for so many youngsters.
So true! What’s even more distressing to see are the teens who are obese. When I was growing up, we were all skinny with the exception of maybe be one or two stoutish kid. I saw a few the other day walking at the park, the best way to describe them, some were “waddling” and thought, my goodness, if those individual’s parents do not wake up soon, their child is going to have a lot of health problems, if they aren’t already.
Yes agree with what you said about long walks. I've been on Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD IF since 6/2022. As part of my ketogenic and IF lifestyle, I also started my long walks-- about 20 hours into my fast. I walk 5 days a week, over 50 miles a week. A do a walk over 15 miles while fasting--in a little over 4 hours and 50 minutes. I am still doing my long walks. Since I started my long walks while fasting, I lost all my visceral fat on my body. And lost over 90 pounds in over 2 years. 😊
@Lioness_of_Gaia much obliged..thank you lioness. I just wanted to share my experiences to help others achieve their goals. I forgot to mention one thing. If anyone is interested in ketogenic lifestyle and intermittent fasting, please consult a keto friendly physician or a certified nutritionist--so this way, you won't lose muscle mass, and they will guide you. Best wishes..
Thanks Dr Berg I lost all my fat by doing IF Sometimes 12 hours sometimes 16 I am on ketovore diet I am now wearing the same size of clothes when I was in my 20s and waistline 32” I always monitor my Bp and blood sugar also watch what I eat! I am more energetic at 66 I walk everyday Thanks to you!
Lots of great tips. I’ve lost 70.8lbs so far this year. Keto & OMAD (one meal a day) from January through March. Took a break for a few weeks. Then stopped keto and switched to OMEOD (one meal every other day) & LOTS of walking, about 35 miles per week. Just me & my AirPods. I learn Spanish as I walk. I’m going to ride this wave to 90lbs
Airpods are high radiation right next to your brain. I’ve read in multiple places to used the wired earbuds instead of AirPods. Not judging, just sharing info especially since you’re working so hard to be healthy❤
The food industry doesn’t care about you. They care about selling more. And the medical industry needs you sick to stay open. Last diet drink I tried was 48 years ago. Last coke was 40 years ago. Last McDonald’s burger was Easter 1985 visiting the Toronto Zoo. That’s was the only vendor they had there. At 4,850 100 yard sprints for the season. Goal 10,000 by Thanksgiving. Usually 8,500 steps a day , 3,500 strides, age 69, no dr, no meds, not giving up. 11th grade weight 175. Going lower. Exercise sucks but never fails!
try rebounding, it low impact and it can be considered a Hiit workout. Doing High interval exercies allows you to access Human Growth Hormone. Sprinting does this too, Dr Berg recommends it. Barbara oneil recommends sprinting uphills/walking down hill does this better.
Dr. Eric, I'm really one of your biggest fans at 46 years of aging. I appreciate all of your hard work and research. I am forever grateful You see with my 12-hour shift and 6 year old twins don't leave us a lot of time i was once a person with fatty liver an a licking gut with out you I would not have learned more of my physical and mental conditions in time Thank you T.H.
I’ve been watching your videos since April. I tried many diets with little success. I’m 45 pounds overweight. My previous diets prepared me to jump into Keto. I discovered I was doing Intermittent Fasting wrong when I tried it in the past. The first 7 pounds melted off fast. I lost 7 pounds in a month. Now it’s really slow, but I’m still losing. I’ve lost 13 pounds in 4 months. The best part is I’m losing around my gut, my sleep is better, less stress and no more brain fog. I was 45.5” around my waist - now I’m 41”. I walk a lot for my job. Sometimes 6-9 miles a day. I try to tighten up my fasting on the weekends. I could add weights and HIIT. I’m usually tired after work and don’t feel like working out. Probably that is what is stalling my weight loss.
@@DrbergTHANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION. TYSM for education me on "diosimin" & "red vine leaf extract" re: leg pain, circulation & bruising.
In 2020 I was 113kg 2022 I was 86kg I didn’t want to become too small so I worked my way up to a healthier 96kg which I currently weigh today 🔥💪 Workout 5 days a week, resistance training & cardio. I breath and sleep a lot better now 💪
Thx for the videos doc. I have been doing an 18/6 intermittent fast for over a month now. I’m lighter more agile I’m working out as well and seeing great tone in my muscles.
I used to walk 5 miles. Then 10. And eventually up it to 20. And some said to me. "How can you walk 20 miles?" So I said. "It's easy. If I walk 10 miles away from home, then I'll have to walk 10 miles back. So that's 20 miles." If you don't want to go that far. You can walk, 2.5 miles away from home. Then you'll have to walk 2.5 back. And that's your 5 miles.
Great summary of all you have been teaching us the last 7 years or so....! Will share on my social media too ..great info and an easy listen for everyone. Love the new graphics too ;)
I watch your videos about kidneys, liver and abdominal fat and I was diagnosed with fatty liver two months ago and I weigh 115 kg and today I weigh 96 kg without any activity I just eat the right food mainly from the recommendations in the videos the next step I start walking Thank you very much for the great knowledge you Thank you very much
who do you think is behind the approval of these foods...........THE GOVERNMNT! Your world is ran backwards on purpose........it is allowed by the government corporation.....or did you not know it was one?
Superb video sir . dense with (multiple ) interdisciplinary analysis most scientific and 'to the point ' kind of presentation as always sir .. Thank you so much
Thanks dear Dr. I honestly want to say that if we had this talk or advice before a decade this worst things would have been in the most dangerous things.. ❤
Another amazing topic. Thanks alot dr Berg. I have followed your advice that drinking ACV before meal and my belly is flatter my waist was 70 down to 65now, I am so happy to get back my size.
I am AMAZED when I go grocery shopping at the amount of GARBAGE people have piled up in their shopping carts. Filled to the brim with processed pre prepared foods, and snacks. 😢
@@TheCushLifeK9sad because most don’t know that’s causing it and some can’t afford to eat healthy even if they do know 💔 to feed a family is astronomical right now
Trail mix: canola and vegetable oils are the 2nd item on the ingredients list! 😮 not the cashews, peanuts, raisins, etc. I was amazed because that was something you’d feel is safe to eat and free from the oils and processing.
Cutting out alcohol, occasionally I will have a glass of white wine and not having sweets after eating along with walking and climbing stairs, I am shocked at the weight I have dropped..168 to 148 in eight or nine weeks..I feel lighter yet much stronger.
Hello Dr. Berg! Just wanted to do a check in.. I lost another 5 pounds this past month (July). Which brings me to a total of 20 lbs in 3 months. (May 1-Aug. 1) I haven’t felt this good in a long time. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos.
Good job. Keep up the good work. Would you like to share your Keto/ IF success story on my website? I'd be happy to see your story there. Feel free to upload your story here: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story
When you run , walk intensely cardio, you perspire salt, starch and even frutose or lactose or whatever is in excess. From 10 k paces to 42 k paces if you daily do progressively 15 k then 20 k , 25k, 30k , 35k , 40 k and your morning errection will tell you are healthy!
@DrBerg I started watching over a hundred videos of yours and began my health journey way back in September 2019. I shed over 25 kilos from 95 to 69 within months. I reversed my hypothyroidism and got rid of severe GERD, and enjoyed the best times for about 3 years. Then I did a very stupid thing- dirty keto- knowing that I can get back to the right way coz I know how to do it. For over 1.5 years, I just couldn't get back to the old disciplined lifestyle, and kept eating sweets and cakes every now and then. My weight started inching up, and reached 85 kilos. Last month, I broke the chain, and now I'm doing a keto carnivore OMAD diet. My weight slid back to 81 immediately. But what I'm worried is the belly fat, which isn't going away. What could I do differently that I can get back to healthy life?
After CR7 Dr.Eric berg is the most consistent guy on the planet, every week he drops videos with full intensity ❤ Thanks sir for caring Us God Bless You 🙏
This was a great video. Short and sweet, to the point! Now to just implement the points in the video. Need to reduce my processed foods and get back to eating real food again.
Is that book from the CIBA collection? My parents were close friends with Dr. Frank Netter, and even modeled for him. My dad was the model for the Blue Bloater! 😊
I have been following Dr Berg for years. Former athlete and Olympic coach. I do everything he is saying by the book (Keto, Omad, 48-72 hrs fasting, HIIT, supplements, cold shower, no stress, good sleep, and so on) however, I cannot lose the last 25 pounds I need to. I am 61 years old, in top shape but still have this stubborn fat in my belly. It's discouraging. I feel the only way left is to include dry fasting, long walks, and a carnivore diet. Does anyone here dealing with this challenge? Help!
Kudos to you! I am not yet suffering the plateau you mentioned, but I am wondering if you follow the same program or of you mix things up. For example, do you always fast the same number of hours/days, do you always do OMAD, at the same time every day, do you get roughly the same macro counts every day? I’m down 100 lbs and still have 35 to go to my goal, so I am interested in your experience.
You may be simply too strict with everything. Those last paunds of fat may by not associated with food but stress. It may sound strange but add some carbohydrate to your diet for few weeks and this fat will go away. I'm PT and from my experience I can say it usually works.
@@mrmrclark Thank you for your input. I am very disciplined and have a solid routine. Probably, I should break the pattern. I used to do that with my athletes when plateauing...
@@pedrozegarek6719 Thank you for your input. Hmm, interesting suggestion. I will try it. Btw, I am stress-free, since I've mastered the subtle art of not giving a f***. ;-)
There must be truth to this! We have spent 6 weeks so far at various lakes on our boat. I am blonde/blue eyed & I have not gotten one sunburn this year. I also take 10,000 vit D/K2 combo almost every day (sometimes I forget). My friends for over 25 years cannot believe the difference.
@@nevastrong2850 Never heard of taking Vitamin D & K2. Info I've looked up online generally boils down to preventing sunburn with diet being having sufficient antioxidant stores. Eat tons of processed empty calories. You'll be spending those reserves on repairing damage caused by food you eat. Read vitamin C is another good one. Probably want the complete form.
I'm very poor. No way am I eliminating starches, sugar, and seed oils. It's nice advice for middle-class people, but actually, it's poor people who need actual advice that's quite tough because it's hard to eat healthy on an extremely tight budget - meeting protein needs, caloric needs, nutrient needs, etc.
You should consider going to your supermarket at a time of day you know they reduce produce - this will help you a lot. 80 percent of my meat is organice and because of the cost I offset by buying special offers in fruit and veg and any offer healthier special offers - this has helped me save loads of money.
Protein is not "what satisfies you." I'll often bring a cup of peanuts with me to study. I'll eat them, and ultimately I end up just being ravenously hungry, regardless of just having consumed around 990 calories and 33 grams of protein. Weirdly enough protein actually feels like empty calories. It doesn't keep a person properly fueled like carbohydrates do. To be properly full, I find, I need to eat a mix of nutrients, protein, and carbs.
Don't know about anyone else, but me, personally, I found that thirty minutes on the treadmill simply helped endurance, and no reaction to altitude sickness. I HATE the treadmill, but when I stopped doing it, I found that my endurance dropped, and yes, I would struggle for air while hiking in Colorado. So.... three days a week, thirty minutes on the treadmill.
Ever since Dr. Berg put me onto the sneakiness of sunflower/seed/bean oil, I’ve noticed they’re almost in everything. Even in “Organic/Non-Gmo” things like nuts and EVEN “NON-GMO” BREAD.
I'm going to admit. I was eating a Pizza #u+ pizza as I was watching this video. Of course it appeared on your video as you were making a critical point. I know I have a long way to go to completely fix a lot of dietary issues but that's why I watch your videos. To be reminded as often as possible about my habits that need amending. Thank you Dr. Berg.
