The ending proves something. Is not that he never saw her. He did. She hesitated and was scared, and immediately called it as friends. Which started a decade of both of them always being scared of making the first move. Its a story about not wasting time like you said, not bc of not seeing people, but bc you should never hesitate to do things out of fear of rejection. Also the last kissed happened. The book is described as the sweetest kiss they both ever had. Which again just further proves he always saw her. Since day 1. He just didn’t follow through because she had called them friends. A whole decade of both actively truly loving each other, yet being scared to say it out loud.

They both missed opportunities to be together but it was never the right time. When they were in Greece Emma told Dex she used to fancy him and said she no longer does because she got to know him. This clearly bothered Dex and he eventually admitted that not only did he fancy Emma but currently still does. He then ruins the moment by saying he fancies everyone and offers a friend with benefits situationship. I feel at that moment he was protecting himself and Emma from losing their friendship and he also was not ready to be in a serious relationship 😢...

@@user-xu8cg2ll2o yep. By Greece that was the second time Emma had done that to him. And the comment about getting to know him and not liking him clearly bothered him bc he kept that all the way until the fight in ep 7. They both since ep 1 are aware of their own feelings, but keep getting mixed signals from the other, which causes them to give mixed signals. It was a vicious cycle that robbed a decade of what they could have had together since day 1. Both might have not been ready for a relationship, but i think they could have worked it out together. Its all about time. They wasted so much time for fear of rejection.

ITS HEREEEEEEE . That kiss at the end on the steps actually happened. It was withheld from us until the end . Just like the book..the book tells us it is the sweetest kiss either of them will ever know

15th of july will always be a day of mourning for me lol. What I found really bittersweet about this ending is that the Dexter from 2007 is actively choosing to remember the first day they met instead of spiraling again and remembering the tragedy. He’s healing by revisiting the first moments they had together as well as « the sweetest kiss they both would ever know ». So even if 15th july is her death day, he won’t let it taint the memory of the day he met his soulmate and changed his life for the better. Definition of bittersweet in my book.

I was not familiar with the movie and had no idea she dies at the end and I was shocked and audibly gasped when it happened. It was so unexpected and then the ending wrecked me too. That was a powerful series. I think when Ian visited, even tho he wasn’t a friend of Dex, drove 3 hours to be there for him made me ugly cry so hard.

no lie, i literally sat in my room in silence for a good 45 mins after watching the last episode because i couldn't regulate my breathing after crying so hard. netflix erks my souls sometimes but this one... this one they ate.

I don't know if you noticed, on the climb up Arthur's seat with Jazz there were yellow flowers on the way up, there wasn't any flowers on Emma's climb with Dex, it was to say she was with them, also Jazz had a red hair bobble in Emma had a red scrunchie. I absolutely loved your reaction and i was in absaloute bits when i watched this series, it completely destroyed my soul😢😢😢 Thank you for giving such a great reaction ❤

This story is one of the ones that sticks with you for a while. I look back at my life and realize that there are things I did and people I saw for the last time and I never even knew it. Life is short, you never know when the end will come, and it's important to live your life and tell people you love them. Thank you for your reaction!

This show destroyed me. I’ve never been so emotionally shattered and distraught 😩 I just thought she was paralyzed and then it switches to drunk Dex and I lost it. I cried for hours and made the mistake of watching it alone so it was a very sad time 😅

Through the power of staying FAR from the camera😭 trust me the inner corner liner was basically GONE. But maybe it didn’t look too bad because I don’t wear mascara (I use fake lashes instead haha)

Can I suggest you now to watch Dead Boy Detectives? I promise it won't hurt as much as this show. It has a lot of humor in it, the characters are really lovable and it's very Supernatural in a way (you might know an actress or two) + it's a spin-off of The Sandman
