I truly love this game, it's just what I was looking for. I cannot get my friends into DCS as it's just too hard core for them and they don't want to map 40 controls. This is still more sim than arcade, and feels really polished for still early access. The developer is very active on Discord and shares often the new features coming to the project. It allows for EASY coop, and it's easy to edit existing missions if you are flying solo. The fact that there's such a variety of aircraft plus the helicopter makes it really stand out. Totally impressed with this one!!!!
Great to see more sim-lites popping up! Also, I love that the helicopter is basically just an RAH-66 Comanche. One of my favorite helicopters of all time.
Exactly! Sim-lites are my fav genre and so happy they’re finally coming back! I know of Tiny Combat Arena among the recent ones that came out, do you know others that are coming out or are planned to?
Yeah, Fox 3 is only for active RADAR homing air-to-air missiles. (Fox 2 is for heat seekers, and Fox 1 is for semi-active RADAR homing, i.e. missiles that have to have their target illuminated by the launching aicraft's RADAR because they do not have an emitter themselves).
@@Guidz06 You can always spot the simmers... because I was thinking the same thing XD But yeah, to add to it: "Pickle" for unguided bombs "Paveway" for guided bombs "Sparkle" when you start flashing your laser "Bruiser" for a Cruise Missile or Anti-ship Missile
You CAN equip a single 1.5kt nuclear bomb on the Compass. You actually have multiple weapon loadout options in place of the gunpod... so if you don't mind losing the gun, you can take a nuke or other weapons in the centerline internal bay.
It’s RIFLE on the ground missile targets. FOX on air missile targets. I will check it out once VR is introduced. This looks like a fun time killer game. Haven’t seen nuke usage in a flight game since novalogics f22 lightning.
I was in the public playtest and, i gotta be honest, its one of, if not THE BEST flight sim ive ever played its not grindy like warthunder and not complex like dcs or msfs its just the right amount of arcade and realistic, super easy to get into, objectives and mechanics are very straight forward and yeah, thats pretty much it id say the amount of aircraft we currently have is small but seeing as development is fast, it shouldnt take long untill we have a large variety to pick from
This game has a lot potential! It is not too complex to pick up like DCS and not too "arcadey" like Ace Combat. Loads really fast, looks great at maximum settings and runs really smoothly. Coupled with my VKB Gladiator stick, this game is awesome!
An update in regards to this game; they added the EW-25 Medusa, which is basically the definition of "me at the remodelled McDonalds hitting select all in my burger" as an aircraft. It's a vtol, an STOVL (short take off vertical landing), a flying trophy system/anti missile plane with a laser, an EWS, a radar booster, and can use a Radome. It is beyond cursed an idea, and can even carry radar jamming pods that work better than the jammers that the other aircraft can have. They even have intentions to add more vehicles, and most notably improve modding support. The potential possibility of being able to create modded custom aircraft could be in the future, meaning one day we could get Ace Combat aircraft in the game, including those from Ace Combat 3 and 7. Highly excited to see where it goes
Rifle is the term for air to ground missiles, pickle is for bombs, magnum is for anti radar air to ground like HARMs, fox 3 applies to active radar guided air to air missiles like AMRAAMs fox 2 for Infrared guided dogfighting missiles like the aim9 series and fox 1 for semi active radar guided that rely on the launching aircraft to maintain a lock all the way to impact like the sparrow series. Not to nitpick or anything lmao
Its like warthunder and VTOL VR had a baby lol. This actually looks good im going to keep a close eye on it and pick it up one day if it gets more popular and updated. 6:24 the correct callout for air to ground guided munitions is "rifle" fox 1 2 or 3 is for air to air only. Hate to be that guy that says that but just so you know lmfao.
I have to say - while I already had Air Combat 7 and Wingman - I immediately bought this principally because of the 'Cricket' turbo prop. Nobody (except War Thunder) is doing modern turboprop COIN aircraft... I hope the developers of this game will add more prop aircraft.
I've been looking out for this game's full release for two reasons: DCS is too expensive to get into and VTOL VR is, for obvious reasons, VR exclusive. But who knows, I might just buy into the EA sooner or later.
Looks fun. And the price can't be beat. I'll be following it on Steam. sidebar: I'm looking for a good attack helicopter sim. Back in the day, I played Jane's AH-64D. Complex, but fun. Are there any new helicopter sims out there. the helicopter in this game looks promissing.
2:47 no.. thats based on the Ov-10 Bronco. Dunno where you got A-10 from, but oh well. 2:55 Based in the description and model, thats supposed to be a T-7... T-8? T-7? Come on. 4:29 RUSSIAN?? RUSSIAN?? THAT IS A YF-23 MIXED WITH A RAPTOR. IT DOESNT GET MORE AMERICAN THAN THAT. 6:26 FOX-3??? AN AGM?? I think im going to be sick...
The devs on their Twitter said that its Russian/soviet style inspired jet. Probably an inspired Su-57 jet, mixed with YF-23. And I know, it's RIFLE instead of Fox-3, you're not the first or last to correct me. 🤣
Hi Phan...I picked this up based on your video. This is Def one to have in the library! Bridges the gap from DCS (10min to start engines??? F that!) and Ace Combat. Besides to fly a strategic bomber? Sign me up! Cheers!
I gave this game a try like 6 months ago on my integrated graphics card but it didnt work out that well, especially compared to dcs which runs decently
I'll be all over this once they add VR support. I've been spoiled for years now by using VR for sim racing. I've really wanted to get into DCS, but I just don't have time to learn and practice as much as I'd need to make it fun. So something like this that is less involved is very welcome.
nuclear option with vr would be superior if it ever happened tho, prob be performance heavy since it wasnt made with it in mind sadly, supersonic fight is what im excited for now
quick correction, AGM 48 or AGM 68 are optical weapons and with the T/A 30 you can have 1 nuclear bomb in the weapon bay while the FS 12 can have 2 bombs, and the SFB 81 can have 16 nuclear bombs or 4 nuclear cruise missile
FS-12 is definitely based on the Rafale, the overall look, they possibility to carry a nuclear missile, and the "FS" being used on french ship ("FS Aquitaine" for exemple)
I'd LOVE to see expansion of the RTS aspect. Manufacturing, greater vehicle control, resources, etc. Recipe for an EPIC sim! VR and HOTAD support is a MUST too!!!
I bought both next gen consoles, but next time im going with steam. Consoles are constantly becoming more & more restrictive and watered down, and mostly aimed for toddlers, shady bastards. Theres so much re skinned trash, played out zombie & magic bs, and instead of cool gritty stuff its all mostly mind numbing deceptive unfinished cash grabs, with no balls. Steam seems to be for cool people who need somthing for adults, at least thats what i want, i cant stand this fantasy junk. Theres hardly any vehicle combat, like in the old days like smugglers run for example. Come on people, hire the cool people from the 80's. Nobody wants to buy two next gens just to play with barbies & leggos. And get rid of all the hot pink and sh$& colors its cheesy af. I know its not easy, ive been in the buisness. Anyways just giving som pointers, only trying to give some advice.
Just in case you don't know, Steam is one of many storefronts, not a system itself though they do make a handheld Linux PC. You'll have to buy (or what I recommend is learning to build your own PC/finding a local reputable shop that'll build it for you, building one is better because you can save money but you'll need to learn unless you wanna at best sit frustrated with a PC that doesn't turn on or at worst break something and be out a hundreds of dollars) a computer first, ideally one powerful enough to play the games you want to play. The real beauty of PC gaming is the fact you're not locked to one storefront. The Playstation and Microsoft are totally locked down so if you wanna buy a game digitally you can only buy it from Sony/Microsoft respectively, but on PC any developer can put their game on any of the major storefronts, or just sell it on their own website.
@@diobrando2575 thanks for the information I was kinda heated when I wrote that, but still for good reason as you said they’re locked as such, I didn’t really understand exactly.
I'd probably compare this game's flight characteristics and combat more with War Thunder (minus the huge multiplayer combat) than DCS tbh, not too much realism in Nuclear Option as of yet. But yes, totally a fun game!
