Hi, thanks - been trying to fix for a while. Solution was to try your suggestion of using the usb slot at back of computer. For 2+ years never had an issue with either of the front 2 usb ports, for some reason today the front 2 ports didn't work (tried different wires) however using back port worked first time. Great suggestion thank you
Comes with experience seems simple when you first hear it but as you and me on first encounter with the problem we think there is no way.Glad it worked
None of this worked for me. I almost had a heart attack because by clearing data, which I listened to you and did without thinking, all of my photo albums, over 5000 photos, were deleted!! Thankfully Samsung helped me to recover them via Google Photos.
I took a chance on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and cleared the cache AND the data. After that and when I went to the Gallery all my albums (i.e. Camera, Screenshots, Downloads, etc.) were gone. I rebooted the phone as recommended and logged back in...I found that the albums in the Gallery were being recreated slowly. As I stayed in the Gallery/Albums tab...I see the albums being recreated and the number of items (representing photos & videos which I had before) under the name of the album was slowly increasing. Eventually, all my albums were recreated and the videos and photos within them were back. It was scary initially!
hii......if u concet phone n pc....browse to phone memory...open a folder and see this folder is empty issue... u just need to install smart switch, let phone get detected....minimise smart switch and then go to the desired folder................your pics should be visible now.
lifesaver first one worked for me (needed to allow access on my phone) i should have realised this earlier, given that my iphone used to behave in exactly the same way many thanks for sharing your knowledge
First of all, I would like to thank the author of the video, since there is simply no literature on this subject. I think it would even be a recurring problem, but it doesn't seem to be, not with everyone. I have 2 devices with this problem, one of them for over a year. I was looking for this "media storage", imagining that the file was in its original reading. However, my device is in another language, I had to translate and logically the word is totally different, which led me to believe, for a moment, that there was not this option, Lol I ask you: 1) Should I click both "clear data" and "clear cache" ? The question makes sense, I'm afraid of losing my files, have you thought? My photos, documents or videos. Total data appears to me: "234Mb" and 86kb of Cache and 40Mb of application. Are you sure it won't delete my files ? Thanks!!
I was watching this a video pop-up from one of the drop down question boxes on Google (I hope that what I'm describing makes sense). I clicked over to "Watch on RU-vid" just so I could comment and thank you for helping me with this issue!
I think it improved things. I have a Xiaomi phone and there were Windows drivers made by Xiaomi for my phone's specific model that I installed. Thanks for the video Ricardo.
Yeeeeees! I tried the first thing, and I feel so stupid and so happy to be this stupid cause the fix was so easy xD I was freaking out for a while cause I thought my photos were lost! Thank you so much man!
hi, bro. after connected with pc, i can find my dcim and camera photo. but, these photos are no thumbnail, they show only the file name, with a standard icons for pictures. how to get thumbnails for these photos ? i am using xiammi phone.
The point is, the telecom-record label-music industry-social media world do not want us sharing files locally. They don't want us banning together in groups where we can share files, music, movies, or anything unless they can monitor it..like wifi. every company that offers things to us are slowly removing our ability to do
Are you sure clearing cache AND data won't delete all photos in internal memory and on my SD card? Update: I took a chance on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and cleared the Cache AND the Data. Did this fix the problem? Yes and No! After I deleted the cache and data, rebooted the phone, let it recreate the albums, photos & videos, and reconnected the phone via USB cable to the PC, I was able to use file explorer in Windows 10 to go to the internal memory (Samsung Galaxy S7 edge/Phone/DCIM/Camera) and finally able to backup and save my photos and videos to my PC. After that, I moved to my SD card at (Samsung Galaxy S7 edge/Card/DCIM/Camera) and all my troubles were back!
Found an easy fix for my Huawei P10 phone: using the phone file explorer (not in windows explorer, so phone is disconnected) rename the "Camera" (inside DCIM) folder to anything else for example Camera2 (it's temporary), your photos should not show up in the gallery anymore the way they used to, then rename back to "Camera" exactly. Now the default pictures folder (that is "Camera" in my case with my phone, maybe yours differ because you're using a different brand) should be visible again in windows.
I downloaded Smart Switch and plug in my cell to my computer and now it doesn't even detect the cell at all . Also I can't find Media Storage on my galaxy s10 the way you found it. This is so confusing, it's not working.
anyone who sees this folder is empty after a green bar finishes loading........install smart switch, connect phone to pc and let smart switch detect the phone.......minimise smart switch and then open the folders u want in explorer. files should be visible now...
Galaxy s20 Ultra my file data says there's nothing in there I'm looking for my games and other things the file says data 0 this is the first time I ever seen this. I did a factory reset and still the same thing phone is working normal
My problem is that my PC sees the phone, but it's only the Photo folder that appears empty! And it was okay before, this problem appeared out of the blue one day.
