Regarding the AC - no, actually it's fairly common in a warehouse environment to have an AC office but not have the rest of the building AC and that type of AC works by dispersing the heat into the rest of the building.
@MainerZ

Was just about to comment this. That condenser coil will be radiating heat that's otherwise wasted outside, it's free heating!

The technical term is retroreflector. There are microscopic spheres in the paint that goes onto the sign. Instead of scattering light in all directions, like normal paint, it sends the light waves directly back to the source. It's especially dangerous with laminar light beams like a LASER because they already restrict the scattering effect of the emitted light. The hexagon pattern doesn't actually have anything to do with their reflective properties. I think they're just used to save on paint.
@MuriKakari
@MuriKakari Год назад
Yea! Addition to the sign lecture.
@Ajnscape
@Ajnscape Год назад
You can even make your own retroreflector with 3 mirrors at 90 degrees from each other for science!
@WackoMcGoose
@WackoMcGoose Год назад
Semi-correction: In _this_ context, the hexagons don't actually do anything, but in plastic molded retroreflectors (like on bicycles), the hexagon design IS the retroreflective effect itself. On the signs, it's caused by really tiny little spheres that do the same effect. Also speaking of laser retroreflection, there's one ON THE MOON used to measure the distance there and back from the earth (it was actually on Mythbusters once, as "proof that man has gone to the moon").
@hesthatguy
@hesthatguy Год назад
@@Ajnscape that's how they made the laser retroreflectors we left on the moon.

Really enjoying all the additional comments teaching about retroreflectors. Very Cool. Didn't they mention using these for cloaking or stealth in Iron Man 3. People who know stuff about retroreflectors, is that something that would be possible?

More on reflective hexagons. The hexagons are formed by taking three mirror pieces and joining them at right angles. This makes an inside box corner that looks like a hexagon when you look straight down it. The idea is that this configuration of mirrors reflects light in exactly the same direction that it came from, so when your car shines headlights on the reflector, the reflector reflects all the light back toward the car, regardless of the angle that the light hits the reflector. It shines brightly at all angles. I don't know if street signs work in quite the same way, but bike reflectors definitely do. If you shine a laser at such a reflector, it _should_ reflect the beam right back at the laser and so it actually wouldn't shine brightly (do not attempt). High-vis clothing works a little differently. It just has small, spherical bumps on it so that some of the light is reflected in each direction. A laser on high-vis would shine brightly at any angle.

I love engineering! As an engineer myself, I find it incredibly exciting to explore my creativity and come up with solutions to complex real-world problems. What I appreciate the most is that engineering provides an opportunity to use my analytical skills and come up with innovative solutions that can serve a greater purpose. Apart from the technical aspect of coding, I also love the camaraderie that comes along with being an engineer. Engineering is a field filled with motivated and passionate individuals striving for excellence and there is no better feeling than being part of this family. It is truly a rewarding and fulfilling journey, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Not to mention, at least on American reflective road devices, the reflectors are also cupped in a way that most of the light only gets reflected back to source.

Return of the Odra Dinn is a very interesting. The HMS, (British, you’ll love it), was lost at sea and it has shown up again. You play a character that is trying to figure out what happened. Here’s the interesting thing. You have a magical pocket watch that allows you to travel back in time to the very instant someone died. You then hear the conversation immediately leading up to their death. The style of the game is incredibly cool. And, you’re going to love this part, it was made by a solo dev!! Your favorite! A single person made the game. The same guy that made Papers Please.

I’m kind of confused… there was a piece where you spawned with a ladder up part, and other with a ladder down part, and another with a ladder down part that has the exit… couldn’t you just connect the spawn and exit or am I being dumb or something? Is there a rule where you have to use all the pieces?
