Sounds like working with the creator of the S Plus mod has paid off. The devs have finally instigated all the changes that the mod tried to fix with all their machines. I hope there is something that will automatically distribute the fertilizer too. As for the eggs, I think using the Dino Storage terminal is still the better option, as you save a ton of space with it automatic generation of unfertilized eggs, and it's automatic picking up and incubating of the fertilized ones save a crap ton of time and effort.

a toilet will instantly spoil any meat put in it. it's a super amazing way to get narcos.. especially since i've picked up 3x of them just from white drops

"Only" rocking a 6700XT and playing on 990 upscaled to my 1440p monitor on mostly high settings and it is still a beautiful experience! Some pixelated blocky "noise" in clouds/water/fog that distracts, but they did a great job. Thank you for covering a beloved game and inspiring me to buy the "facelift"... The xp-box at 9:30 ark'ed me. While I was distracted by the wonderful naration, an alpha raptor jumped me and I lost my first mount and hard-earned set of metal tools, crossbow + tranq arrows. Did not even leave a corpse or bag to recover, so early access has some drawbacks... A little later I also found out, that unmounting a ptera mid-flight still more likely than not will kill you. I was hoping for a UI change like "press and hold E to unmount" instead of the fatefull quick-release. Not having a second flyer on hand and far away from base means lesson relearned: always be prepared for a corpse run 😞 It's beautiful, but at its core its still the game we've grown to love / hate!

I ended up cutting the default experience to .25 and starting over so i could experience the leveling process better. At level 40 I switched it to 1. For me, that was the better leveling adventure; my enjoyment greatly improved. It took me 6 days to reach level 40 where I had reach level 40 by the end of the first day using the default experience.

I liked frogs in ASE, but now with the footprints they're even more giggle inducing fun. Get one and check out the prints they leave, it's great. They also seem faster than I remember.

There’s a hill/mesa/cliff side area on the opposite side of the river where that crystal hill is. I’ve made my base there when I started out playing on the Island.

You can right click on an engram you wish to gather materials for and choose track. It will display what's needed versus what you have in inventory on the right side of the screen.

I ended up turning ground clutter down to low not only because it makes it so hard to find anything - that I sort of liked and disliked at the same time - but mostly because it is very badly applied in many areas of the map. They seem to use this long flat cluster of rocks in many places that doesn't conform to the terrain so it just sticks out real ugly all over the place. Especially on beaches. So I turned it down from Epic to Low and it looks much better.

I kind of forgot how hard this game is. Obviously it's customizable but some of the presets are pretty brutal for a solo player, depending on the area.

If you right click on a recipe and select "Track" it will show the materials you need, as well as what you have in inventory.

Biggest nuisance with small bodies, or even some larger ones.. I have trouble finding the dead hit box for dodos, dilos, even my own corpse. There's the body but my attacks aren't hitting it... and this is in single player. At least have carnivores now, so worst comes to worse, I hope off and they find and eat it.

The game is totally soloable. It was intended to be done with other people. A lot of solo players change the default settings to make it easier like phlinger mentioned he changed the harvest settings to x2 in this vid. There is a "Single Player Settings" check box that the developers made, which change many settings to make it is easier for a solo player (taming speed, player and dino damage, harvest settings, and breeding settings, and maybe more). It is possible to play solo on an official server, but taming and gathering take a lot of time since you have no control on the settings. It is possible and there are solo official server players, but it is a slow grind. Many solo players don't play on a server at all like myself. Phlinger did a vid recently on his single player settings for ark survival ascended, which is worth checking out.

@@johnwicks4936 I have about 1,000+ hrs in ASE (Ark Survival Evolved) and phlinger soloing the ark series was very helpful when I was a new solo player. There are a lot other RU-vidrs that do these type of "soloing" of series, but I think phlinger does the best job for new players. Syntac is probably the biggest ark RU-vidr and it fun to watch and I watch him too, but phlinger does a better job explaining everything he is doing imo.
