I once dominated him as ARVN with a M1919 Browning, killed him like 10-11 times, generally it was really good game for me, I dont find any particular player incredibly good, some are better than the others but once you learn the maps and positions even the hardest level 99 players can get killed easily.

I don't think players should be banned for being good or using in game exploits, that's something that the devs should be covering themselves when it come to the game's mechanics. But as for Zab he was apparently being toxic etc and I think that's a perfectly valid reason for him to be banned, so all in all good riddance I suppose.

No player has been banned for being too strong, these banned players are either banned because they are using banned glicths or because they are toxic (usually both). Besides, developers only ban someone if they have concrete proof.

They banned Zab?? He didn't do anything wrong...He is just good. I also get accused for cheating constantly. In Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo. It's not fun...I'm not cheating or doing anything wrong. It got to the point that I stopped playing online around 6 months ago. I only play my own custom matches with bots now. I'm sick of being accused for cheating all the time. I also don't like to make people upset, so I just left multiplayer and only play with bots now. I was also genuinely afraid of being banned because I have been reported so many times for "cheating/aimbot", even though I have NEVER cheated. So frustrating...

Honestly, I don't know how to feel about Zab being gone. On the one hand, if someone has legitimately gotten that competent in a game through improvement and skill, that shouldn't be cause for them to be banned, because they've put in the effort to be that good. *_HOWEVER._* Zab was a bit of a different case. I actively resented the dude because his mere presence absolutely sapped the fun out of the match entirely: If you had to fight him, you were fighting for your fucking life just to avoid getting curb-stomped. If he was on your team, there was zero challenge winning and it felt more like you were fighting AI it was so easy, which is boring as hell. The truth of the matter is that Zab demonstrates that there is such a thing as being "too good" at a video game. Hell, on the day Piave was released during the Caporetto expansion, he tried to reassure me that he wasn't having fun either. Either he's a two-faced liar, or he legitimately didn't enjoy stomping teams the way he did. So why he didn't play anything other than these small, indie studio WW1 games is an absolute mystery to me, considering I think games like CSGO and games where that kind of skill can earn BIG money would be a lot more logical. Also, apparently the "Toxic attitude" thing could hold some water, since I once checked his steam account and found someone complaining to him about wanting to have a good time playing games and chatting but he was being a turbo-salt in the chat or something like that. Whatever the case was, the reality is that even if he was legit, the felt outcome for other players was honestly indistinguishable from an actual cheater. And I would not be surprised if people decided to stick to Battlefield or Call of Duty because Zab the Turbo Sweat made self castration via hatchet look more appealing than playing a match with him. As much as it pains me to say it, I honestly feel some amount of relief knowing he's gone.

The problem is that, the WW1 Game Series is not a game where skill is the primary focus like in Counter Strike or Rainbow Six. It's a series of games meant to simulate combat in WW1 in a way that is enjoyable for casual players, much like Rising Storm and Red Orchestra. And whether Zab was legit or not, the problem was his performance was virtually indistinguishable from an actual cheater and completely sapped the fun from any match I played with him. If you were on his team, there was no struggle or challenge, nothing was satisfying, and everything felt boring. But if you were on the enemy team, you were fighting for your fucking life only in the hopes that you lost a bit slower. And it would be even worse if he had his little goon squad with him. The point of a video game to people who actually have a life is to have fun. If a game is not fun, they're not going to play it, and I would just abandon a match if I found Zab in it because I could guarantee that fun would be little more than a distant memory in that match if I stayed. But banning him over toxic behavior is something I'm a bit less impartial on. I guess I've always had an odd feeling around him, because people say he's the best dude you can know, but he comes off as arrogant and I saw someone complaining about his radioactive personality on his profile page on steam.

I'm slowly making a tactical WW1 game, but wanna test other eras. I'll make sure to hit you up once it's playable, as I really enjoy your take on tactical games as I share your opinions. Great stuff.

yeah honestly controversial opinion but i do think an overly good player should maybe not be banned but have their account restricted somewhat. Maybe that's resetting some unlocks or whatever but if they ruin the experience for everyone else in the game then they need to be curbed somewhat.

I'd say playing against better opponents should not be a problem, and if you can not handle a few good players in a tactical shooter the you should play competitive shooters older than a few years and you'd see how much better of you are.
