Then is totally their fault for her ending like this. They should totally be required to fork the bill for this mistake. I would say that maybe we should make laws to cover everyone by this important responsibility of educating their kids. We seem to get blinded by low natality rates and so we try to support births by adding incentives and social support but we somehow forget to pay attention to the quality of the new arrivals. As not just more births is important but also the quality of those individual characters when they reach adulthood. Pretty sure alongside those incentives we should totally insert more responsibilities for the parents too. And when situations like in this clip happen, i say the parents are totally liable.
They certainly should have said "No" more times along the way, but that's quite a lot to be expected to pay in perpetuity. Ofcourse that's the 'idea' as it is well established that judges aren't in fact partial at all lol.
Nope actually this is a tactic judges use to have the matter escalated to at least an appeal court. That way when the case is overturned on appeal it makes it a lot harder for anyone to bring this kind of action again.

That's the underlying reason that she sued them, so they will still support and provide for her even though she is already of legal age. She should work as social worker, working with abused, bullied and vulnerable people. I'm sure it'll open her eyes no matter how shit her life is someone has got it worse than her!
She spoke about work as if it was the first time she ever considered such a thing in her life. How anyone growing up isn't preparing themselves to get a job and totally expecting to support themselves in the future is baffling to me.
The only "hard" work she has ever had in her life was in bed with the football team, then the lacrosse team, etc... I've met several women like this who are supported by their parents all the way into their 30s because they don't want to get a job and sustain themselves after getting useless degrees, because it's hard work having to work for a living and why work when your parents make the big bucks and you get enough money from daddy's allowance to rent a place, get food and travel without ever knowing what that costs in labor.

This is extremely sad and shows how backwards our so called justice system is. The fact that the judge awarded her 5k a month is ludicrous and should be barred from the courtroom.
I would LOVE to hear her argument. Honestly. How did she want her parents to "get permission" 🤔 Your parents support you until you're 18, then you support yourself Ms. Adult.
Honestly, I feel the same as this girl. It's unfair to bring some children into the world. I have disabilities, depression, anxiety, no friends, no love life, pressure to find a job just if I want to live by myself when my disabilities prevent me being able to work and insane stress. For what reason? just because I was born that's why. These are things I have to live with and what is a persons options when you don't enjoy life and someone selfishly brought you into this world? it's unfair honestly, I do completely agree with this lady and ya know I wish I was in a position to sue my parents too but my father is dead and my mum is poor and the only reason I have a place to live is because my mum I could be worse if I sued her then i'd be homeless too. But you know, living with so many problems is challenging and not enjoyable. Should I have to pay money for therapy just because I was born? that's unfair.

It makes no sense for the judge to order the parents to pay her anything. The clear solution to her being born without her permission, is a late term abortion.
Nobody decides to be born. Our very existence precedes what we’ve decided is the only sacred thing: choice. It seems that the court is operating under these same assumptions; that “choice” is the only legitimate thing. This is so stupid. And here I thought children cannot consent. @@celticsamari8693 well that depends. how much for starters. how effectively did they raise her/him. are they willing to have the kid at home? the exact amount would vary but in principle? yes absolutely parents should have to pay their child(ren) a fee for having created them and thus burdened them with the cost of life. I.E food, housing. medical etc. i'm not saying they should pay enough that the kid doesn't need to work or anything. but let's face it, life is hard. and it's not our choice to go through it. having the parents pay a fee to help make things easier for the kid to live would make things alot easier. with less financial struggle the kid can focus on schooling. on finding a good job not 'anything that pays' trapping them in a cycle of working dead end jobs for hand to mouth paychecks.
