Eldeo Soul I worked in NC for six months and I never met anyone like this. I’m sure there are religious nuts, they seem to be everywhere, but most of the NC people I met and worked with were kind and soft spoken.
She’s cute naturally, but they didn’t have to put her in a business dress. Like she’s only 19, they should’ve put her in something with way more color.
same thing i was thinking. Even that same outfit in like a hot pink or a purple. something a little edgier. i mean its not a terrible outfit. It just doesnt suit a 19 year old girl at all
Yeah while I think her original look makes her look kinda old too (maybe it’s the fake tan and makeup? idk) but that plain business dress seems to make her love her original look even more. Honestly this show could probably do a lot better if they put the people in more normal clothing with bits of their original flare.
She's a cute girl, very pretty. Just needs different styling, something between club makeup and hair during the day, and an interview dress for a nice career job. She's young, let her look her age.
Her- "I like the tory look..." Them- "I don't think she answered the question." Them- "The what lifestyle!?" Not knowing that Essex doesn't mean ecstacy lol
My brittish friend said tory. I know the tory look isn't too far off from that. But I had to double check just cause I don't even know. But it could be something other than what my friend said.
I actually feel really bad for her. When one of the guys said she was pretty after the make under she immediately said "No I'm not." I could very easily be wrong but that to me jumps out that she was made to feel ugly when she was young and still feels it unless she fixes herself
i definitely think she has body dismorphia and she had her style to help and it did which is awesome and for them to tear her down and especially comment on her body reversed all the work she did to feel better. Not to mention how after cuts she looked like they were being awful to her off camera aswell.
I would love for her to tone down the Barbie look a bit, but come on, she’s 19! She does not need to look like some 35 year old business woman. They did not take into account her personality and lifestyle at all!
i wish they took literally anything she likes into account lol they could have just given her something classy yet sexy instead of just business wear lmao dang
I don't know ANY 19 year old that would like that old lady outfit. they should have AT LEAST gone with a younger style, my goodness. I would've cried too.
I’m 19 and I would wear it, it’s not perfect but it is not so ugly I wouldn’t wear it, it’s not too short or too long, I’d rather not have my ass cheeks hanging out especially if I’m on my period. The look after the makeover is more likeable to me than the before. I tend to be of the belief that healthy is the best look and so, overly done hair and tan kind of damages it and makes you less healthy
@@supernoodles908 To be fair I'm from the UK and I was around this girls age when it was filmed. They've dressed her like a woman pushing 40, even at the time no one her age would have dressed like that.
Seeing her being so upset after the transformation is heartbreaking. Let people be bold and vibrant, let her be young and confident. She's 19, let her have fun. If it doesn't hinder her life in any way, what's the problem? It seemed like it was only her friends that were bothered. Which to me says she needs better friends.
What's heartbreaking is that her friends obviously care about her and that you believe that nonsense and maybe are too turned on to see she's crying for help... like she dresses like that and has 50kg of makeup and fake shit on and hates her natural beauty dressed classy... come on now...it's not fun and vibrant and fun and harmless and whatever at all... and it does, I mean it does beg the question where did she get the money for her fake tits when she doesn't seem to have a job... but she too obviously hates herself and has no self-confidence and needs help... that's why she hated the naturally beautiful classy look... because she can't stand to see herself without all that fake shit...
@@Cassxowary As somebody who has had people try and fit me into more normal standards of beauty, I know how hurtful it can be to see yourself as the image that other people want me to be like. I didn't see it as a case of 'she can't see her natural beauty', I saw it as a case of she has developed a way that makes her feel comfortable. The way she dress is her expression of herself. It would be the same as someone who dyes their hair fun colors, or has tattoos. It came across, to me, that she was upset because she could no longer see herself in the image that others wanted her to look like. I don't know, my thoughts on the matter simmers down to 'let her do what makes her happy'. If she isn't harming herself physically or through her finances, what's the problem? She is happier looking extra, and its not a bad look on her. it's just different, and different is good.
Yuck, they aged her 20 years with that make "over". She definitely might have needed a little bit of a tone down but that was. . .BAD. Yikes. There's a US version of this show called "Love, Lust, or Run" that was better--Stacy London listened to the people wanting makeovers and made the makeover THEM, not just the same rehashing of a "natural beauty". This girl was just so unhappy, makes me a little sad.
Yeah she just needed a little tone down on the tan and a bit less makeup. The rest was fine idk wtf they were thinking when the host had more makeup on at the end talking about natural beauty my ass
her issue was never about the way she made herself look, but why she felt the need to do so in order to get attention and validation. she doesn’t need a make-under. she needs support.
To me it seems that she is using the Makeup as a way to hide her insecurities about herself, clearly she hates the way she looks naturally so covers herself in so much makeup that she looks like a different person, only then does she feel happy. I assume all of her friends also push this onto her, saying that she looks better with makeup which will make her feel worse and want to hide even more. Such a shame really because personally, I think she looks a LOT better without the makeup, tweak the clothing and boom.
Kind of made me sad when that guy said she was naturally beautiful and she just said "I'm not though". The show did her kind of dirty with the makeover.
I noticed that too. I got the feeling the show gave her that make over in that way on purpose. They could have gone with something that would suit her personality and comfort levels. They took her completely outside of her comfort zone all in one big go and expected her to like it.
@@MrMakingwavesmedia I agree, her fashion choices are certainly questionable, just saying if the show actually tried to match her personality a little bit, rather than make her into the same old lady clone it seems to love churning out, she might be happier with the end result. Though as a previous comment pointed out, she clearly has pretty bad self esteem issues, so maybe she would have been unhappy no matter what the outcome was.
They honestly should've just had a makeup artist help her embrace the best version of the look she liked, then given her some fun clothing options that were just polished up versions of her style.
Ken and Buff can understand her friends and fellow Mancunians (people from Manchester) just fine, that's not the problem. Her problem is not her northern or regional accent, she is just thick and does not speak properly and i think she is trying to mimic the Essex accent too to sound like shes from TOWIE.
The entire premise of this show is "oh you're happy and confident with your own tastes? No no no, that won't do at all. The only thing that matters is the approval of strangers"
They should help her with her self esteem, not force her into a style she's not ready for and make fun of her choices. She feels safe behind the costume and stripping her of it all at once is not the way to go, especially since they still keep the focus on her looks.
I love how confident she is in her before look! It's terrible how this show is tearing down people's personal style because it isn't natural or "normal" enough :/
Right? They take away all individuality and make everyone into Karens... she's actually really pretty and honestly just needed a little style change and less selftanner. I hate how she really seemed upset by the dudes suddenly saying they liked her after they made her look like a 40 year old woman... like, yea, let's tell this young lady with self confidence issues that men will only like her if she completely erased anything she likes and looks exactly like every other white Karen in the world... 🤦♀️ And if we're being honest... everyone knows dudes found her attractive before 🙄 there's a reason people are saying she looked like a porn star (and we all know how prevalent porn is in our world) 🤦♀️
@@brooklynnbailey4356 right! I dont even like girls an I thought she was gorgeous before when they did the make under, they really did make under her look
The whole premise of this show to get women who express themselves in ways that aren’t “normal” and making them feel like no man will love them by only including the avoid answers and then reassuring the after look with answers from men saying they like her now. She liked the way she looked and that was fine. Adding the make opinion makes the whole thing very telling.
That's not being not normal, that's clearly self-hate and lack of self-confidence and she clearly is asking for help even if she doesn't realise it... not being what's considered normal is good, this isn't... I feel so bad for her...
I like the how the "pod" is clearly the same women that interviewed her just with a robot sound effect over it. Haha its like she is pretending to be a robot so she can just let out what she really wanted to say. Lol obviously scripted but still its the cannon in my head now.
That Definetly isn't the interviewers voice, there has been bout 3 different woman that have presented the show and that pods voice has always been the same, it's in the end titles
this is kinda really sad. I mean she dresses in a way that makes her happy, and after the makeover she feels so uncomfortable. I imagine she feels similar to when I was younger, I prefer to dress masculine but for family events id get put in a dress and have people constantly try to tell me I was pretty. it doesn't help, it just makes you feel worse imo.
As a goth girl, I’m always told to “be more normal” but I dress the way I do and do my makeup the way I do because it makes me feel happy and comfortable. I don’t usually care what society says about me, either compliments or judgment, I just want to be able to live my life without society saying I need to change.
I don't think it makes her happy. I believe it only makes it easy for her to forget or cover up her natural self which she does not like. You can't get rid of reality by ignoring it. It's better that she resolves her emotional issues not cover it up.
I hear that. I hated being forced into dresses just to appease the stigma of little girls should look cute and frilly. But I will say I didn't mind doing it for my grandma. She bought me a really cute little blue overcoat outlined with black fur, a little black purse, and a stylized version of the fuzzy black hats that royal guards in Britain normally wear. Or Russia. Forgive me, the name of the hat escapes me atm. That with A LOT of ribbons, ponytail holders, and barrettes was normal church wear. Goodness I'm getting a headache just remembering how tight those platted braids and hair ornaments were as a kid. 😣
I feel so bad for this girl. You could see she was radiating with confidence and you could just see how crushed she was. What’s wrong with makeup and plastic surgery if that’s her choice? Even toning down her fake tan and choosing some more natural makeup and maybe a less bling-y outfit would have been a better choice for the show. I wish I could just give her a big hug...
What's wrong? How is it confidence, when you have to litterally become unrecognizable to accept yourself? It's clear low self esteem and body issues, which is sad cause she's accually a nice looking girl under all that.
The pod just could've asked her why she thinks she needs all that stuff to feel pretty and maybe let her talk about her feelings and self-esteem issues. Without the camera. Yes, I'm talking about therapy.
This one kind of made me sad. :( I feel like when she was made "natural" and everyone complimented her she was feeling like wow....people don't like me for who I want to be. Cool.
@OzarkoBlam You're entitled to the acceptance of your friends, otherwise they aren't real friends. This girl definitely needs new friends. What everyone else thinks isn't important anyway.
@OzarkoBlam you're ALSO allowed to acknowledge that none of your friends or family seem to ACTUALLY get you and don't ACTUALLY like you for who you like to be, but rather what they think they could get you to "improve".
She wants to be the way she wants to be because she's extremely insecure with herself. That's the problem. I highly doubt she wants to be as painfully extra as she is but she seems to think that's the only way others will find her attractive.
@@comedicsociopathy your real friends are entitled to provide you with constructive criticism. If they don't put you in check when they see you slippin they're not your real friends 🤷🏻
It upsets me that someone has harmed her in a way to think this is what she needs to do for herself. People need to understand how fragile human psychology truly is. Especially when they're young.
She likes the TOWIE look. It's a show called The Only Way is Essex. Think Jersey Shore and you've got the idea; dumb beautiful people being dumb and beautiful for reality tv.
In the hospital with my little boy, (he’s a very sickly child, he’s had 4 heart surgeries, seizures etc) he has a bad lung infection. And literally watching you guys makes it so much easier. Keeps me smiling and in a better mood. Been here forever, since before Ken was with Mary, 😱 Love you all!
It’s funny because they can’t understand what she says, but I’m literally Canadian and can understand her better than them sometimes 🤣🤣 the Texas accent can be so hard to understand sometimes lol
Watch “Hotter than my daughter” its similar to this, but the mum is off the rails and gets makeunder and daughter is “ugly” and shy usually and gets a glow up.
@bryan smith Still didn't warrent the almost traumatised reaction she gave for it. having a bad outfit shouldn't make you completely break down and cry.
@@SashyBash you seem the one exaggerating. She looked very sad, which is understandable when you feel like they dressed you up like a clown and you hear everyone saying they didnt like you for what you liked yourself in
When I first started watching this channel I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like Buffpro, well, he’s probably my favorite part of the show now. These are cool videos to binge.
Honestly I feel like she would’ve been happier if the show taught her how to do her makeup better and taught her how to dress better while keeping the sexy style she likes. The show completely wiped away her style and left nothin behind.
Right???!! I could not believe she was 19. #1 she needs to take better care of her own hair and grow it out, quit with the extensions. #2 they REALLY need to get a better stylist on this show. Like who are they consulting for this, the Queen herself? All she needed was a fascinator and she'd look like she was going to a British wedding for crying out loud. Edit: I also wanted to mention how did they think even for a minute, that a girl who actually LIKES looking like a 90's pornstar, with the fake tan and fake tits, was going to react to looking like a 40 yr old lawyer??? Like, for real, for real......how did you think this was going to end??? Lmao. This show is so dumb.
Yeah that is not okay, Snog, Marry, Avoid's wardrobe sucks big time, but also what is with the choices that the show hostess and "robot" is giving these people for hair style makeup style and clothing style (I swear I saw an episode where a girl that yeah looked a bit over the top, they then transformed her into a 'Karen' type, I mean just what the *F*!!) The hostess was so surprised that the girl rebeled against the new look and went back to her former look when they met again. That show seriously need to upgrade that aweful wardrobe.
@@KakashiLvr26 Oh wow you're right. I mean seriously what is up with that outdated style, how horible for a 19 year old to turn 30 something in a matter of hours I fully understand why she hated her new look, and to make matters worse they parade her in front of everyone. I would be so upset too if someone did that to me
She honestly looks beautiful naturally. I loved the dress, but they should have given her a more youthful, sexier wardrobe so she can see she can still look beautiful/sexy without going over the top with her fake tan, makeup, and hair. Trying to completely change how she looks made her go back to her old ways even stronger instead of helping her find a happy medium
Aw, I feel so sorry for this girl. She's so beautiful. Just because she can see her value with a bunch of fillers doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to feel confident in her appearance.
ok honnestly i'm really starting to hate on that show it's like the only thing they are doing is taking away peoples authenticity and then making random people in the street read scripts that are attacking their personalities. i don't like it and she looked way better before when she was actually being her ''full extra'' self idk .. they could have chosen to let the viewers embrace different looks and learning things about different people and what motivates them to dress the way they to idk they could make it so much better I think i'm in a '' Mood'' right now ahahahaha sorry xo
100% agreed with the shows way to handle this shit. She's 19 but looks to my 27 year old eye like she's about my age. Basically shaming her to be more conservative with those scripted pedestrian stuff is kinda brutal to her self image. Especially since she's that young and judging by her original looks, still searching herself.
Honestly, I feel bad for her. Pretty sure she is dealing with low self esteem because I dealt with that myself for so long up until I got with my husband.
She was saying “reem” it’s a word from the Essex area that means it’s on point, looking fly! Essex is famous for fake tans, fake hair, fake people. It’s all about image! She also said she likes the “towie” look. That’s a tv reality show all about people from Essex, that’s where vajazzle also comes from. When they puts rhindstones around your pubic area to jazz it up 🙄
I feel a bit bad for her tbh... you only go looking for attention that severely if you weren't given enough attention/validation/love as a kid. I think she needs therapy more than a makeover. :/
They really gave her the "let me speak to the manager" hair cut😭 She looks so much more happy and better before. Her friend is just mad cuz she having fun standing out💅
@@tyffaneelavely8087 I don't think so. I use to watch this show years ago and in the full episodes they make them to choose from three different hairstyles.
They always gotta make them look like soccer mom Karens. Before the transformation, she was smiling and then they made her believe everyone said avoid, (which is just not believable) probably to undermine her confidence and make her agree to stuff more easily. After the transformation, she just looks so sad and uncomfortable, it made ME sad.
I also think it wasn't believable that everyone would choose to avoid her, there were several guys visibly interested in her when she was being filmed outdoors...
Were you dropped on your head as a baby? Can you not understand the simple concept of fashion and style? This show was mid 2000s era, so what you perceive as a "Karen" look, was actually perceived differently back then... Yeah ik, its crazy to think fashion actually changes as the years go on 0: simpleton.
@@theedgydoggo1331 I actually was, how did you guess? 😂 What a delicate way to say that you believe dressing everyone the same bland way doesn't repress their personality. I really admire your sense of diplomacy! See, I simply thought everyone has their unique sense of style and that MAYBE it would be better for the show to help people find a way to express themselves through their appearance, but in a more moderate/professional or less "off-putting way" so that future encounters with potential employers, dates, etc. would be more successful. But it would be so much easier if they just felt like shit about themselves because every bit of their personality got toned down, right? All jokes aside, you have no reason to react so strongly about my comment. Unless you're literally the comedian behing the pod, or you dress like this and took offense to words that weren't directed at you. Either way, grow up.
It makes me sad that she's so lacking in self-confidence and self-love... That's not a soccer mom Karen, she looks lovely naturally! And people like you aren't helping putting down her natural beauty. And for insisting she is a princess, after the makeover she looked like one!
She honestly didn't look horrible beforehand! She needed a wardrobe change, tan removed, makeup a little more subtle. But she didn't need an adult-over at 19. Not gonna lie though, her face and hair look much prettier.
Actually it isn't, when the goths show up they don't get into the whole program they talk for a bit and just say if you're expressing yourself thia is totally alright, I guess they tried to teach some manners to slutty, orange eng girls
Yes, whatever, I agree and I was expecting a reply like this, but keep in mind they are volunteering going on tv, also nobody forces them to change, they can if they want
This show is ok, though it would be more effective if they asked the interviewer what kind of fashion styles they enjoyed; to give them a look the contestants felt comfortable and confident in. Instead of giving them a old fashion look of "I'm a young child playing dress up in my grandmother's wardrobe" look. And we need more genders being question on the snog, mary, or avoid. How effective is it really if only men like the look, some girls/ more feminine people my think it looks crazy or is too much.
Intro: Hi. I’m Sophie, I’m 19 and I’m a part-time model. Ken: I didn’t understand any of that! Me: Grew up in England and understood everything this girl says!😂😂😂😂
ken : alright i didn't understand anything she said.. welcome to England , lived here my whole life and I'm still struggling to understand the Manchester accent 😂
SOME of us need a "foam bum" because ours is so boney it hurts to sit on things that aren't already padded! Since no one can see my bum when I'm in public it's definitely not for looks!
Something tells me everyone said snog and marry before except those 3/4 guys lmao like literally all she really needed to do was tone down the face makeup (foundation, concealer, etc) because she has really nice skin and that’s about it
@@claredyson9936 She really doesn't sound more Scouse...I'm from Liverpool, and she definitely sounds like she's from Manchester, hate to say it but she sounds a bit drunk 🤷
6:20 she said the TOWIE look, she's talking about the show called 'The Only Way Is Essex'. Basically she likes the Essex look lol Also Reem just means nice haha
Essex is a county outside London and it’s known for Girls who look like this🤣🤣🤣. Only she is from Manchester in the North of England so the accents thick too
This is so great, im from Manchester and im even like "what did she just say?!" Literally like 80% of the girls in Manchester look exactly like her aswell!
Being from England and listening to these guys react to the accents and words is so funny but like a bit frustrating because I wish I could just tell them what it means lol
Leave the girl alone and let her be herself! If she’s happiest and most confident being a hyper feminine Barbie princess, then that’s what she should be. I’m somewhat of a tomboy myself and can’t stand when people try to pressure me to be different than I already am. If we were all the same it’d be a really boring place to live.
