I finally caught up with you! Ben you are a thoughtful reactor. You pay attention, remember a lot , connect the dots and do a great job speculating what might happen in the future. I really enjoy watching your reactions.
Yeah I feel the same way. That's everything I look for in a reactor too. Or at least, it's the main stuff I look for. Getting emotionally invested in the characters is another, without being over-the-top dramatic and screaming all the time 😂
Thanks so much 😁😁 I love looking for the details and techniques the creators have used to make these shows and the characters are just so much fun to get attached to 😂
Aangxiety! I love this episode it's just so creative and out there. Super silly, and then there's that one dream where everybody dies. But at its core it is about a group of friends supporting their friend who suffers from mental health issues which they don't quite understand, but they try their best to support him anyway. And then there is the B-plot, and it's much more subtle. Shoutout to Dee Bradley Baker as both Appa and Momo of course, and the koalasheep...And the flying hippocow... Mark Hamill must have had a blast too. Also note how Zach Tyler Eisen's voice has dropped a lot at this point? And he was still only 14 I think, excellent actor.
This episode did a fantastic job of showing off the different mental stuff Aang was going through, the standard Nightmares at the start, daydreaming and then full-on hallucinations! Loved how it was so silly yet the message is so powerful and sweet with how his friends help him. That B-plot was amazing and it feels so weird that something so huge was placed in the same episode as all this 😂 The voice acting was stellar! Find it so hard to believe that Appa and Momo have the same voice but it goes to show how talented the actor is and Mark Hamill was amazing 😂 just hearing his very menacing Ozai voice come off like this was so awesome! Honestly hadn't noticed a change in Aang's voice but wow it's amazing how just listening to his voice for so long that even as the actor ages it still sounds like Aang.
23:34 Remember I recommended that for you? Dragonball Z in particulare (The one with the Faulconer soundtrack) A bit of a warning on it: it's long, they DO, admittedly, use a fairly sizable amount of filler, and they like to rely on flashbacks a bit. It's still a great series despite those things, and I think you should check it out.
Yes!! I do want to get into anime but I have no clue if I'd do a reaction to it or not and I just know there incredibly long so I have no idea how I'd get through it all 😂 but loved how this made references to them
Can't say I've ever been as sleep-deprived as Aang, though I HAVE been sleep-deprived, before. Think the hallucinations happened a bit quicker than they should have for him, though maybe the added stress helped.
True, plus with Aang it seems like he puts all his energy into something at once so it makes sense he'd get this bad hallucinations this quickly, I've been sleep-deprived myself before but only got as bad as seeing hands move in the corner of my eyes so nothing this insane 😂
The anime references are Goku from DB, and Naruto, (not sure about 3) Naruto ended roughly within the same year Atla began & shares a striking resemblance in art-style & overall world mechanics, though the magic system of Naruto appears much more versatile compared to Atla's...
I thought the first was Goku 😂 I don't really watch anime but I love how they were referenced here and honestly if they're anything like Avatar I kind of want to check them out 😂
Zuko’s plot made this episode not skippable. I skip forward for the B plot. Too bad it wasn’t the A plot. The writers and the animators were on cactus juice when they did this episode. I really don’t like the Appa vs Momo fight. It was way too silly and ridiculous for me.
Zuko's story here was phenomenal with how it finally cemented that he knows who he is and yeah Aang's story was just fully insane, feel like it was done to give him some development before the invasion and they made it super silly to balance out all the intense stuff going on around him like the whole Bloodbending thing, Zuko and the invasion.
