As an Aussie married to a Filipina given my experiences with the RJ guitars, Fernando and d&d I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the Filipino guitar brands and am always trying to collect one when every we are in philippines, in Australia every guitar is the same but with the Philippines there's more nicer choices keep up the good work with the reviews I enjoy them Salamat po
its the mentality kasi ng mga noypips..... anyways in the long run biglang mag click mga local guitars na toh maghahabol mga noypips..... parang mga OPM albums CDs from the 90s nung nag click naghahanap na ng wala na sa market same din yang RJ super vintage. sobrang tagal na sa market. nagbebenta ng affordable guitar sa pinoy noon pa!!!

Oks naman talaga rj guitars kaso ang baduy ng branding nila. Tanggalin nila yung "RJ" logo sa body. Nagmumukhang cheap yung gitara e. Pati mga color choices nila sa mga gitara di maganda

Naalala ko sa forum sa Philmusic pinutakte(both positively and negatively) to eh for the following reasons. 1. Yung design ng guitar itself. Daming mixed opinion about it. Lalo na sa switches niya kasi nga kailangang isa isahin pa. 2. Yung overall sound. And the infamous “houndwound” pickups. Yes “hound” yung nilagay nina RJ sa ads nila lol 3. Of course yung nagmasturbating logo man ni RJ. Kung wala daw yun baka may chance na mas nacapture niya yung market. Or kung sana pinalitan nila mas eye pleasing. 4. Price. Overpriced at 30k plus at that time. Siguro daw kung ginawang 18-23k paka pasado sa market. But dahil nga na Namm ito eto yung justifying reason nina RJ bakit nagadd up yung price. For me, as long as the instrument gives you inspiration to create music and you feel good about the instrument then kahit pa magkano yan eh go grab it diba. At the end of day…ano bang mahalaga? “AMMK- Ang Mahalaga Meron Ka!” Hahaha tsaka siyempre inspired ka and you’re playing music. Great content paps! Cheers! - Ael

Thinking about it, kahit before pa, a lot of people actually wanted RJ to succeed as a brand pero were put off by yung lack of care that goes into branding and aesthetics. Kung sa OEM lines nila na rebadged, expectations aren't particularly high pero sa Super Vintage, I really would've wanted them to knock it out of the park. The guitar looks fine for the most part. Coulda used a better decal + the logo on the body is something they've been stubborn about and no one rly likes. Pero otherwise it hits a LOT of boxes-- flexible, and has a Ric vibe sa itsura. Makes me wonder what'd happen to the brand if they started listening to people lmao.
Sayang nga yung mga mango wood na acoustic nila, meron ding logo sa body. Nagmumukha tuloy na cheap. Pero nawala na yung logo nila sa body sa mga bagong labas na strat.
Thank you for mentioning this lol i remember growing up I learned how to play with an Rj les paul copy. Loved everything about it except the headstock logo which looked like a ripoff of the jordan logo that was a silhouette of RJ holding a guitar which i decided to cover with tape. Really wished they weren't so stubborn with it as i believe that new guitar players (which is i assume is rj's main target market) shouldn't have to be ashamed of the headstock logo as something as simple as that can discourage a beginner from picking the instrument up. I remember eventually selling it to get a squier which I loved to death and eventually became the guitar i learned how to play with
This guitar is pretty decent. The only problem I have with this is wala akong option para mag switch immediately from neck to bridge tulad ng typical selector. Pero siguro kailangan lang practisin talaga yung pag gamit nito. Good job PAX and RJ 👌🔥

Some of our fellow filipinos kase PAX mas gusto nila yung salitang Branded and Imported. Hahaha Kaya our local brands ayaw nila. Hence the LOCAL word. Pero I have my RJ Les Paul and Beringer Strat but I still love my RJ Les Paul. Hahaha Thanks to this video PAX.

Just my opinion.. Idk how the brand logo in the body is making it "cheap" and wants it gone, if there's one thing I want to see, it's the brand logo either in the headstock or in the body like this one which is really cool and unique for me

Maganda ang specs, minsan lang nagkakasama mga ganyan na specs, semi hollow, 3pickups, may disenteng tremolo... Kaso for me, di ko feel ang rikenbacker shape eh... Siguro kung singlecut like lespaul shape mas patok yan .. pero opinion ko lang yun..
Sayang hindi na makapagproduce ng Ric copy ang mga makers kasi notorious yung Rickenbacker sa pagdedemanda kapag pareho ang porma sa mga gitara nila. I'm glad to have one, a Ric 330 Walnut given by my missus.
I had the good fortune to talk with RJ the man himself when he visited Hawaii. Their company is really focused on improving Philippine guitars and giving Filipinos the chance to get a guitar at all price points. I bought a Telecaster and just removed the gold logo on the body. Excellent review and video!
Naalala ko dati wala pa akong electric guitar tapos pinagiipunan ko yung RJ Les Paul kasi yun lang budget ko pero nung nagkapera ako bumili ako ng ibanez. Hindi pa ako concious sa tone noon basta gusto ko lang magkaroon ng first electric guitar. Inayawan ko yung rj kasi less passionable at hindi daw cool kasi local. Pero ngayon parang gusto ko na bilhin ito.

Ang galing nitong Super Vintage! Nakakatuwa need mo lang i tweak yung settings para makuha yung ginagaya nyang guitars. Pero medyo magaan sya in person. Pero sulit na sulit to kaysa bibili ka tag iisa nung 5 gitara hehe mahal yon. ✌️❤️

Ask ko lang po kasi curious ako at sinusubukan ko palang matuto tumugtog. Gaano po ba kahirap yung ginagawa ng youtuber na "TheDoo" kasi paminsan-minsan kung hindi niya alam yung song pinapakingan niya tapos bigla nalang alam na niya yung song tapos linalagyan niya ng improvisation?
Ok naman Ang mga gitara ni rj maganda din Ang Ang tunog kaya lang Yung logo lang na Nasa body Nya Ang dahilan kung bakit nagiging baduy tingnan Yung gitara. Sana matanggal nila Yun,sapat na yung Nasa headstock lang na logo. Mas simple mas may appeal sa masa.

Galing talaga sir pax, palaging maganda mga content at maraming matutunan. Nakakalungkot lang din kasi bakit madami ang negative comments ng mga kapwa pinoy sa gitarang ito. Anyways grabe yung playing mo sir, napaka versatile. Nabigyan mo ng hustisya ang kahit anong gitara gamitin mo ganun din dito sa rj super vintage.
Actually Matalas talaga yung tone lagi ng RJ kaya talaga sobrang sarap nyang gamitin lalo na pag dating sa mga rakrakan talaga. Meron silang certain guitar na makukuha mo yung medley and jazz na tugtog. Idol ko talaga ang RJ guitar pag dating sa mga guitar na gusto mong nangingibabaw ka tas gusto mo talagang lead kung lead.
I love what it offers, but the RJ logo on the body makes it a HARD PASS for me. Sayang. Di ko gets bakit hindi nila tanggalin yun. Enough na sa headstock. It doesn't take a huge amount of research to know that consumers find it ugly.
