Ahhhhhh....yessssssss! At least he didn't get a buzz cut. I think they should have kept it at at least shoulder length, he would have still had the badass 25 yo look.
Lesbian mom with mom sweater and mom jeans. Worst makeover I've ever seen! That hair needed to be shorter because this style just looks like Gidget and Dude Where's My Milf had a baby.
+Squish yeah i just feel like he didn't really want to cut it, idk it felt a bit weird just because men aren't "supposed" to have long hair and i thought we were past that but they seemed to want to cut his hair against his will???
Men w/ long hair can be on the receiving end of so much shame that it can completely alter how they view themselves. This is the second time in my life that I've had long hair. First time was most of the way down my back, in my twenties. I didn't care what people thought, other than that they better compliment it, but was just too up tight a person to really enjoy it. So... here I am, just entering my forties, with hair almost halfway down my back. I'm way less up tight, and am willing to rock any hairstyle that I think might be fun. I still don't care what people think, but I expect compliments nonetheless. LMAO
This guy looked like he had a sense of individuality and freedom with long hair, but after chopping off his man bun, he's been essentially castrated into having the type of look people feel safe with having.
Geoff Joffy He used the correct word, dumbass. It seems that you're too stupid to tell the difference. It must be rough going through life with an IQ as low as yours. You're probably the kind of person who thinks there's another person in the room whenever you see your reflection in the mirror. I could keep going, but you're probably confused due to your lack of intelligence.
Definitely, his family and girlfriend seemed more interested in gendering him than supporting him. Shame, given how much he clearly loved his long hair.
Had to stop watching the video like 30 sec in. Why does a man have to be shamed and forced to conform to pubic opinions for this? This is as bad as forcing a woman to grow long hair, put on lips sticks and a skirts just to "look like a woman".
I was actually thinking today 'hmm maybe i should cut bit of my long hair' and this video was in my recommendation and i saw it and then i was like 'nope nope nope HELL NO'
Of all the cool hairstyles out there for men with short hair, they had to go with that... And why the hell did they dress him up as an evangelical aunt?
@@mscowardcurve5098 That's just the opposite side of bullshit. What about guys with hair loss? Are they less masculine even though they can do nothing about it?
babbisp1 two most masculine traits are bald and long because neither required much maintaining back in the day that’s why all warriors and soldiers were bald or long haired
Because he caved to a female. Women cave to men and other women all the time on looks. Men more often do what makes them happy. Unless a female gets hold of them. Have fun spending five years growing that back.
I really hate it when families of men with long hair think it is acceptable to manipulate his appearance because of what *they want*. It isn't their hair to mess with! It disgusts me.
My family has done it twice to me and I listened to them and cut it both times. I grew it back out AGAIN, and this time I refuse to let them do it again.
He really does. I bet the hairdresser guy was just jealous. Having healthy strong hair at that length is not easy, especially if you use a lot of product.
Yes, been growing mine too for about 13 months. Had to play by ear how much conditioner to use, how long to leave it on before rinsing, etc. I also use a capful of Macademia oil in the conditioner and only wash my hair every 3rd day so it doesn't get too much buildup.
I'm at about 13 months as well. LOVING IT! I wash with tap water about once a week right now and clarify with distilled water to remove buildup. Outside of that, I use wooden and bone hair combs/brushes to keep it untangled and the sebum evenly distributed.
Never thought of distilled water for buildup. Do u know how it works? I know I've been using wide tooth brushes and drying it with a T shirt, never use hot water to wash it or a hair dryer. Actually got pissed at a stylist today for using almost hot water to rinse before the cut for my couple of splits I had. (didn't cut it for 7 months) at that point.
He should've kept it, looked badass. Shouldn't give a crap what others think, he didn't look bad after the cut but I reckon he looks best with it long.
This is very depressing. The man with the man-bun said that he didn't want to have his haircut in the beginning of the video. The fact that they nail men's hair to the wall sounds absolutely barbaric.
Justine Horton most of the people with long hair I know, including myself, love having our hair braided or just messed around with but just ask first 😅
I see plenty of regular guys who would be your regular blue collar worker type guy with that hairstyle and it's 100% masculine if you pair it with a regular old tshirt, jeans and a ball cap That outfit though.. lol
The only reason certain people think men look “hotter” after getting their long hair cut short is because they now fit the more “masculine” image those ppl already had in their minds along with the dramatic change in appearance which adds another “wow” factor. As a man with hair longer than this dude before his cut I’m very happy to see such a resounding level of criticism to this bit in the comments. I haven’t had a haircut of any kind in 2 & 1/12 years and I don’t see a cut happening any time soon. I actually take care of my hair and the only thing I shear is the back of my neck every few weeks.
Short hair isn't masculine at all, because women also have easy access to it. For something to be an exclusive trait to one gender, it musn't be obtainable by the opposite gender. Therefore, hair length has nothing to do with gender because we'd all have long hair if we didn't have the means to cut it. Beards are a masculine trait, not the length of your hair. As a male with long hair and a beard, I feel much more masculine than the casual short-haired, shaving boys. They have no idea what manliness is all about.
I'm kinda mad. Not only because of the fact that he looks better with long hair, but because i'm getting sexist vibes frok this like "men only look good with short hair" but that's just me.
You are 100% right. As a male with long hair and a beard, people consistently tell me I should cut my hair and shave. Women can do anything they want with their appearance, but men are only good-looking when they have short hair, no beard, and wear suits. I say fuck that. If women can't handle how men were supposed to look like (bearded and long haired), then they can give up on men and look for other women to date instead as far as I'm concerned. People also seem to think that if you have long hair or a beard as a male, it must be because you have no other choice since everyone will offer to "help you out with that". Society can't seem to understand that not every man wishes to look like a prepubescent boy forever.
Having long hair is a song that ur committed in the long run for anything and I respect men who have long hair Legit made him from a fucking metal badass to a single soccer mom
I grew my hair out that long (longer actually), and had 5 inches of feathered ends. I'm growing it back out from scratch, only I'm going to get trims every 6 months now. Gonna tell the hairdresser, "Cut off the dead ends and leave the rest." Fuck those feathered ends, they ruined my look!
I'm so glad people in the comments have the courage to be critical of this shit. How does his own family have the nerve to shit on his style like that?
I knew the comments would correlate with my own opinion. He looked way hotter with it long. If you're reading these comments dude, for the love of God, grow it back. Short hair ages you. Badly.
Natasha Wigley It depends on the person though. Like if Jensen Ackles had long hair it wouldn't suit him but someone like Chris Hemsworth or Tom Huddleston look waaaaaaaaay better with long hair
I don't think it aged him because it was shorter, I think it aged him because the cut didn't suit him! It wasn't styled right, looked like it had too much product in it, and the shape wasn't right. Looked like a weird bob. I know he's probably depressed just looking at these comments.
I feel so bad for him. The girlfriend and family should be ashamed! He should get away from them. Grow all his hair back (longer then it was) and never speak to those people again. This entire situation they put him through was just down right shameful!
I hate how in all these makeover shows, they always want to cut men's long hair, like they're saying " *all guys look better with short hair* ". Sometimes long hair looks better. And regardless, it's his hair, and if he likes long hair that's how he should keep it
There's actually a theory, that long hair is a natural look on BOTH men & women. Most women, to this day, have long hair. However, for men a long time ago(19th century? or some very early date)....razors and electrical haircutters were invented. What correlates to that is the stigma that men having "long hair" are seen as unkempt, dirty, hippies, lazy...while men with "short hair" are seen as clean, wealthy(because they can afford haircuts), levelheaded, taking better care of their looks, etc. However, this stigma(especially in the present day) is completely and utterly FALSE, because if this were true then how would they explain Fabio? Johnny Depp? Roman Reigns? lol. The stereotypes associated with long-haired males are based on, really, the critic's opinion that "males should have short hair and females should have long hair". It's a very dated idea that less and less people are following.
adu1991 more often than not, stigmas, traditions, rituals, etc., become from some real world trial and error... Long hair can get one a serious ass whoopin in a fight.... Just sayin..
"Long hair can get one a serious ass whoopin in a fight.... Just sayin.."" Weak excuse. Just tie it back. If we're going by your logic, than most female boxers and MMA fighters should shave their heads in order to win more fights, and you know damn well that's not true. "Just sayin"...such a passive-aggressive response, lol. If that's the best answer you could come up with, I'd hate see your worst.
adu1991 its not a week excuse.. Its one valid point on why long hair can be a vulnerability..... Also, if i were a military drill sargent, i would be able to convince a very large number of men, in a reasonable amount of time that long hair is vulnerable and they should shave it. Hence your " stigma" is born onto countless men.. Oh wait, thats been going on since the dawn of the military... So you can take that weak excuse and shove up your "lil liberal, think you know more than others, because of your lil community college studies" ass.....
I am a 13 year old boy with long hair down to my back and people always tell me to cut it and stuff and I just ignore them because I like it and it’s my hair so
I had long hair from a year or two older than that and cut it short once when I was seventeen and a second time when I was twenty-six, but never again! Don’t make those two mistakes I did! But get advice on how to care for it, e.g. on RU-vid. I never had that advantage that girls always get from their mums.
Omg i am leaving my hair grow from 2nd class and i am 13 yo boy now too. And my hair are kinda long i wish them to be a little bit more but we'll see Same as you my family friends... wanted me to cut my hair but i was ignoring them and now i have hair that i wanted for many years🙂🙂🙂 Now my family and most of friends likes that i have long hair or just dont mind about it But i am still happy that at least someone have similar story as me 🙂 and understand how much you need to do for stuff that you like
He almost seemed taller than the other dude before the cut, crazy. Look at the body language, when the barber lays his hand on his back the first time he looks at him like "don´t do that". Then after the cut the barber's constantly touching him and he looks more vulnerable. They really emasculated him...
