Okay, the context that the birthday girlfriend gunpoint guy makes accessible content for disabled people completely re-contextualizes his candor in the original video, it makes sense why hes being distinctly expressive and annunciating like that.
I might be completely wrong here but I swear he was exposed for something but I forget so I dont wanna judge. Does anyone else remember what he got exposed for or am I just being dumb?
@@joecool1588 the front camera of a phone is.... usually mirroring the picture bc it would look weird if it wasn't mirrored like a actual mirrir. You can turn that off tho if you decide to in most phones
Was actually so confused by the comment roasting the conducting. Dude had consistent timing even when dancing and he doesnt do that smooth circle baton moving conducting shit that makes it nearly impossible to tell when the beat is. Dude even got the pointing and giving the death stare at that one guy/section thats not playing right down to a T. The dancing would also hype up the wholeass audience if an actual conductor did that.
2:20 Astronaut: Trains for their entire life, goes through gruelling trials and finally, finally gets to go spacewalking Ludwig: What is this skydiver doing?
My guy beats 2 and 3 were just straight horizontal lines. I get it's not the point of the video but that is nowhere near proper conducting. There's no weight or bounce in his conducting and it wouldn't convey any clear or proper intent during an actual performance. The baton isn't kept level or straight either it gets flung out instead of being constant making it unclear to people with different viewing angles.
@@seamuschaos I’m sorry, I’m nowhere near the uni music knowledge, but what’s wrong with horizontal lines? If the beat is 4/4 there are 1 down 1 right 1 left 1 up moves, as far as I’m aware? Are you trolling or there is some kind of logic to your point? The bat thing is most likely true but there is Gergiev who uses a toothpick as his baton, so…
@@sungvin Yes, horizontal movement is correct, but it needs to at least have a small amount of verticality. The person in the video did purely horizontal lines for beats 2-3. There are three main reasons as to why purely horizontal movement is bad. The first is it's just not clear. The switch from pure left to pure right has no weight without veritcal movement and makes it extremely difficult to feel the beat, it's very abrupt and sudden. The second is because ensembles are rarely formatted in a straight line in front of the conductor. Most ensembles have players off to the sides, elevated players looking down, or players far away from the conductor. If the conductor is doing only horizontal movement someone to the side or far away won't be able to visually tell when beats 2-3 happen because of their viewing angle/distance. Adding a small bounce fixes this issue because they can use the vertical movement as a guide instead (shown through the simplest form of 2 beats being mostly up and down). The final reason has to do with feeling and expression within the musical work or conductor, conducting in pure straight lines is very robotic and emotionless. Adding acceleration, verticality, etc all allow different conductors to express their ideal view for the music easily through their conducting. It's important to note that the conductors true purpose within a (professional) ensemble isn't to keep time, as professional musicians can already do that themselves, but rather unify the phrasing and expression of the ensemble so they can easily blend together. Straight lines as a conducting form doesn't come anywhere near close enough to convey that. If you want to see proof just google "4/4 conducting pattern" or watch any professional conductor, every single image or video will feature a bounce on each beat. There is also a specific term in music called the "ictus" that directly relates to the clarity of the beats within a conducting pattern and refers to the imaginary horizontal line that the baton would 'bounce' on to convey a beat. I'm not sure what you mean by the bat thing. I'm fine with any tool being used to conduct as long as it is clear and conveys the conductors intent. The main concern with the flinging of the baton is that they can very easily fly out of the hands because they're typically held very lightly in a somewhat awkward hand position, batons are also stupidly expesive so it's kind of harrowing to see. But the flinging does amplify the same issue as pure horizontal lines. Holy this is longer than I though it would be. Sorry if some stuff isn't clear I need to sleep. Umm TLDR: Purely horizontal lines aren't clear for both the timing of the beats and phrasing/expressiveness. Adding the smallest bit of verticality fixes this.
I love the "please don't text me when you're drunk" one, I saw a duet that had a lady doing a verse that was just your mom leaving a voicemail, it was glorious
That tiktok makes me feel like I want to hate it because like she seems kinda full of herself and taking herself a little too seriously, but at the same time it's literally the best thing for encouraging creativity in other people. It's spawned only good things (even if some of them were mocking her a little bit).
@@that-dude-jeffe3305 I mean he had several popular vines so it would make sense for him to make tiktoks. Yeah he probably would have come up with some genius duets
The people saying he’s conducting wrong are wrong. It’s not the best technique but the songs in 4/4 and the guy was accurately doing that pattern. That pattern of down, in, out, up. Did seem a little awkward but an orchestra would still be able to follow it.
At the gym the hoodie removal reveal is always hilarious. The only thing that's funnier is the guy who does like 10000 pullups and then leaves the gym.
After all this time spent watching Ludwig, he almost got me with that bit at the end where he told me to subscribe. He almost fucking got me. This dude is good with the subliminal messaging, almost as if I've been enjoying his content for almost 2 years and not hitting subscribe because I don't feel he has earned my sub, which costs me nothing and gives him... well it gives him something. I assume money, but like, I see how he lives. He's fine. He's not starving, his cat has more net worth than me. Did you see all those toys? Fuck, if I was funny and good looking like Ludwig here, I would have made a killing. This is getting weird, you all should sub to Lud, he seems like a good dude. I'm gonna head out, maybe go cry for a minute. His cat has more money than me...
I only got tiktok about a month ago and it's just as bad as I thought it was, but it's also addictive as hell so now I'm doing exactly what I feared I would do and spending an hour on it while having maybe 5 minutes of total enjoyment.
6:19 why tf he have so many space jam dvds 😭 also i started cracking up at the 2nd space jam dvd. i thought it was gonna be that one guy who just rhymes everything
"You get to a point where you're watching a man strangle another man, and you know you've gone too far." I mean you put up a YT video where people can openly watch that dude getting 'strangled'. If you ask me, we didn't go deep enough.
God damn that was a fine collection of Tik Toks I’m glad people curate them so I’ll never have to subject myself to mindlessly scrolling and finding a funny 1 maybe every 20 minutes
Hey Lud, I used to skip your tiktok reaction videos bcs tiktok cringe but two days ago, I started binging them all. I've become cringe but I'm finally free.
