Glad to see your video on my feed. I still watch a few other RU-vidrs.. I've followed trades of a couple RU-vidrs and I'm down so much…210k to 80k. It got addictive. My resolve is the lot are amateurs.

I have a small correction on the Sachler story, that changes the ending pretty dramatically. It’s true that the government forced Purdue Pharma into bankruptcy. However, that is only after the Sachlers pumped out all of its enterprise value via dividends (over $11 billion). By the time they went into bankruptcy, Purdue was an empty husk that the Sachlers were more than willing to hand over to the government. They were forced to renegotiate the settlement, so they had to pay $6 billion of personal Sachler money (not Purdue’s) to the victims in exchange for avoiding any personal liability for how they ran Purdue. In the end the Sachlers still came out ahead by $5 billion and avoided any jail time. Hardly a win for the victims or the government. Source: Money Stuff by Matt Levine
I think you guys need to make less episodes and focus more on quality it is becoming more and more generic. I’m a fan but this seems just so saturated.
Guys, just a Litle hint -> why don’t u come back on first milion milionaire stories ? Just saying… Making the first million liquid it’s hard, who cares about billionaires becoming even richer ❤
@@illuminated2438 ofc course you can get a decent car with a million. heavily skewed pov on world if you think you can't. $1m i still a lot of money, depends on what the goal is. do you have $1m? if you don't, i don't see any reason as to think it's "barely enough to get a decent car". if you do, sure. then maybe decent car is a mclaren or bugatti for you.
i agree and disagree w the replies, 99.999%+ here will never see close to a billion and theyre up in dream land if they think this content is relevant, edit: also props to shaan at the end for the idea only video
I love MFM because you guys cater to an ambitious group of people I believe. And covering all ranges from talking about crazy billionaires to even just interesting blue collar side hustles. That is exactly what I’m here for, all of it. Not only that, you guys talk about what’s interesting, and you yourselves are genuinely interestedly Jeep this healthy mix of content because I think the real vision point is entrepreneurship, ambition and curiosity. Also please do something with the TotalMan thing.
Today is my birthday I turned 23, left my "low paying Indian job". I am gonna start a company. Will come back here again in 1 year. Thanks guys for the POD it's different.
57:00 I think “business idea Monday” is HORRIBLE. Your bad episodes get listens and views because we don’t know what we’re going to get. I think you’ll have Monday viewers and non Monday viewers which will effectively split your audience. A regular pod with a section for ideas is the solution IMO.
if you’re the sole owner of onlyfans and you have no intention of selling or going public (British law is probably the most reputable in the world) - why would you set up a holding company in the UK and pay enormous income tax? there has to be more to this story
First, love the glasses. Second, can you guys recommend an episode for me? I discovered you guys only a few months ago. I want to learn about the "lower level successful businesses". I want to know about 1 or 2 person companies that make a few hundred grand a year. Basically, my goal is to generate $20k/month with the software I'm building. I don't know of any success stories similar... and maybe for a reason.
In the podcast world, where most biz-talk's a snore, Sam and Shaan keep us awake, never a dull moment, that's for sure. "My First Million," an antidote to monotonous drones, They dissect ideas until they're nothing but bones. Did Sam rest and vest at HubSpot? Well, only for a minute, Now he's onto Hampton, a new venture-his heart's right in it. Shaan dreams of a six-pack but Taco Bell's in sight, The allure of a Crunchwrap Supreme makes abs a long-term fight. At 2x speed, their laughter becomes a show, Sounding like Beavis and Butthead-oh, how the giggles flow. "We read all comments," they boldly claim in voice, Will they respond to this poem? Oh, what a choice! They're not into "small boy stuff," or so they love to say, Big ideas or bust, that's their only way. So here's our cheeky dig, a jest to keep things real, You're the kings of podcast banter, but let's not make that a big deal! How 'bout making artifacts, gems from business lore? PostPilot's investor update-oh, we'd adore! Sam's founder agreement was an artifact that shined, Follow it up, you two, and let your fans behind the grind.
Constructive critique - Sam has annoying tendency to interrupt Shaan when story flows. Dude just let the story to have roots and maybe at this time your question is irrelevant (been there, done that).
An idea that someone with more money can do? Weddings are boring, they're all the same, nothing new, nothing unique, after going to 10 weddings you still can't remember how it was at each one. At least that's how the weddings I've been (most) are. What would it be like if there was a wedding hall in the shape of a dome full of displays on the inside and on the floor? How did they make that sphere in Vegas. So you can have your wedding anywhere, or in 6 different places in one hour. You can hold your wedding at the bottom of the sea, or on the moon, or in the jungle, or on a plate in the kitchen (everything around should be large, and the area of the room should be the area of a plate), or in the desert, or at the pyramids, the list is endless and the experience can be a special one. In addition to these effects, there should be special menus, specific music with the displayed area, effects, smoke if it is in a swamp, maybe even a little water like in 4dx movies. I remember what you told Sam, about a book that helps you organize a very special party, that's where I started when I thought of this idea, plus sphere from Vegas. I don't know how original the idea is, maybe it already exists and someone is doing it. Now I saw that Sphere in Vegas has a similar display, but I was thinking of a smaller one that would cover everything, including the floor, which would of course also have a layer of glass so it wouldn't get damaged. And to have such wedding halls all over the world, where you can have a very special night. The hall can be rented like this for events, maybe not just weddings, it can also be used for parties and others.
Do a one where a 40 years old is trying to get back and can only start something which can be done with a job. Thanks for lot for all the ones till now
Sam Shaun you gotta do a kids table version of Billi of the week. For those of us starting out, do a 100m or 10m guy of the week. Something more attainable, that yall can relate to more. This show is literally called my first million not "dream of being a billionaire one day pretty please"
The SpaceX guy when he was moved to Washington he was going to work at the Starlink factory, that's when they were struggling to move fast in developing the satellites.
Great podcast today. It is, without question, you guys have a great connection. And Sam, Shaan would let you stay at his house more than two nights😅 It could also help you get acquainted with screaming kids as you and your wife welcome your new little one in the future.
It's ironic that veteran entrepreneurs find a government agency like Companies House UK so impressive, given that many countries have a similar register of companies. It's hardly groundbreaking
I love MFM. It's actually the only podcast in which I never miss an episode. I really love the business stories even though Sam sometimes doesn't get them completely accurate. They're always entertaining though. Keep up the excellent work.
Pretty odd to speak so positively about two of the most reprehensible businesses that have caused MASSIVE damage to peoples lives. Opioids and OnlyFans. I get that its interesting to talk about big money makers, but the complete disconnect from ethics and morality speaks volumes about Shaan and Sam.
Both are subscription services. Onlyfans is mainly for adult content. Desperate men will happily throw money at hot women and that explains why OF is making so much. Also, the big advantage that OF has over patreon is that subscribers can pay creators extra money to get custom content.
Hey Shaan and Sam, i definitely came for the business ideas and stayed for the jokes! Audience member said Shaan is getting visibly in shape and in addion to noticing corns on Sams hands previously ( dude invest in gloves ) he seems to have a scratch across his arm this time....Only a fans story to that? lol
A part of me wants to get rich to live a convenient life and not worry about money but the other part just wants to get on the pod and hang with you guys. #LifeGoals
So love your podcast. 1 thing tho, I listen to your pod mostly at 1.5X and have to say that the intro music sounds much better at 1.5X, try listening it and share what you think… Keep doing great stuff guys!!
I remember when OF had massive problems with the creditcard companies. They terminated them. How was that solved? Maybe that was the moment when the founder solved for "peanuts"?
onlyfans should not be celebrated any more than selling drugs or terrible pharmaceuticals it has only led to further societal decay and degradation of women whilst fostering simp culture
You guys should interview Oliver Brocato. He seems like the type of entrepreneur you guys look for. Check out the interview he did with Brett Malinowski. Dude revealed way more tactical and actionable stuff in 2 hours than most entrepreneurs ever share.
Love your content guys. Your talk about loads of great businesses where some guy or gal created a 7 or 8 figure business out of nothing because they came up with a novel idea. What interests me more though is how they grew those businesses, more than the idea itself, because that's even harder than coming up with the idea in the first place, especially without a big time. Are they influencers with large followings? Do they use content? Ads? Insight into some of that would be amazing!
Asking this here even though it’s not relevant to this episode: There was a topic a back in the day, a newsletter connecting investors to startups? What newsletter was that or at least what episode?
