After reading all the comments that say I'm the bad person in this situation. I agree with them I made a mistake, a terrible one I made my friend believe that he cannot trust me anymore And worst of all, I lost a really good friend David was a really nice person, and I'm truly sorry for causing all of this trouble. This is all my fault, so blame it on me Say what you want to say to me, whatever hate you can give, because I deserve all of it for my actions. Again I'm truly sorry for anyone who was involved in this. And please don't attack anyone who's involved, because no one should be hurt except for me

I feel like some people are brushing things under the rug just because she's 14 and quite young, but let this situation be a lesson for her. She was wrong to put things in public without even hearing the person out. She posted her assumptions that put David in a bad light, proceeded to back from her statement, then made another post backing away from the other statement. Emphasis on assumption, just because she never heard the guy out. I feel like this should be said, but I feel like many people are way too sensitive to compliments nowadays. Yes, trauma may play a part, but do take note that you're possibly hurting the other person as well. Then again, like this situation, David is clearly the one hurt in the situation, considering the fact that he was accused of something that he didn't do. And seeing the pinned comment, I'm glad that she's taken accountability of her actions. And for the other people out there, just because someone is young doesn't mean they are exempted from consequences, let them learn from their mistakes. There's a reason why parents scold their children when they did something wrong, it's for them to take accountability of their mistakes, learn the consequences of their mistake and learn to not make the same mistake again.

In fact, it is no one's fault... Don't blame yourself David. You don't really know what that girl has been through at first, you don't actually want to harm her on purpose, so it is all just a big misunderstanding... We can't blame the girl. We all don't know how much pain she has been through in her terrible experience, especially she has to face this at a young age like this. Also, it is hard for us to understand her feelings as we are not her, so we should never judge...Ah, I feel quite sad for her though... Let's all try to show more love and care to the people around us. This is exactly why i rarely interact with minors (in sky or literally anywhere) a smiliar thing happened not long ago a and minor accused me of being a predator just like that and i literally almost got into huge trouble and lost my job. They did apologize to me but the mental damage that impacted me is enermous. Sad teenagers would do something like that just becasue they feel like it. You cant exchange compliments or be normal friends with them because if you are thats a red flag to them......

I'm probably way to old to get into this conversation. BUT let's see if understand what is happening here. 1-You two became friends. She's 14, you're 18. 2-You both used to chat very casually and friendly on discord. 3-Her character went to sleep in the game. 4-You said her character looks cute when it's sleeping. 5-She made a public post about it calling you creepy. 6-Then she apologized and said she was wrong about you. 7-Then posted something else accusing you of being creepy again and saying you were blackmailing her. 8-You show in the video that you never said you were going to "Expose" her or something like that. 9-Now she's angry at you and she's leaving Instagram. Am I right? Did I miss something?

If i were you, after she apologized I would have blocked her. Taking something like this public for no reason keeps me aware of who i befriend in sky. This children are waay to quick to post anything online blaming you of something. Teens today want attention and they will do anything on their grasp to gain it. My sympathy to you and i hope you are doing well David.

I have frens who call me "姐姐" (meaning big sister in Chinese), "ikemen guy", "handsome dude" and some other funny names and yes I know they don't mean bad. It's fine if both parties understand and doesn't mind being called that. It's nice that both of u sorted stuff out since misunderstandings are rather unpleasant in a sense when this kind of matters are involved.

This is definitely scary. I understand it was a mistake but as someone who will turn 18 in a handful of months I would PANIC if someone ever accused me of this. It's definitely not our fault because society has done too many innocent people wrong and it's not the accusers fault either bc they're just taking precautions. I understand both sides, because I do candle runs with one kid that is 12 years old (me being 21) I am always respectful towards she. The other day a ikemen was playing with her, following her while she ran in circles with a crab in her hands. I thought it was funny until she told me that she was being uncomfortable and was shaking irl. So I told her to go home, and we did. In my side of things, it was funny, just a playfull thing, but one can't judge what does the other ones feel, and people need to understand that. I also understand the power that social media has, and its not only the reputation that is in risk, It could put irl safety in danger so, definitely you both should've talked (but I hope everything is calming now)

I honestly don't see anything wrong with calling someone's skykid cute, my friends do that all the time. When I saw it was a normal thing in game I started saying it to others too. Usually they react well, return the compliment or get flustered. Some feel uncomfortable but I hope they tell me so I know I've crossed boundaries I shouldn't. I don't think anyone is at fault here, you were just complimenting her, and she's very young (and with all the awful news everywhere of people exploiting minors) she panicked at the first sign of trouble. This was a mess and I’m glad nothing serious happened. No hate to you or to her ! 💙 I am now a 18 year old and I’ve been groomed by men older than me almost my whole teen years. Being called cute on a cute game, with legit adorable characters is not grooming nor anything predatory. It happened to me too one day to meet a moth and we talked so I can help that person in game. Asked my age casually and fully freaked out when I said I was 18. It is never a bad thing to be careful online as a minor! But please, minors, do not go publicly about a person out of nothing just because they are 18 or older. Not everyone is a creep! And to be honest, a 16 year old can be just as predatory as an 18 year old (experience again)!!! You can actually ruin someone’s life snd reputation for nothing and it’s just sad… Take care online and be careful how you speak and treat others, no matter your age ! aw geez. I hope things get sorted out with you and Min. I heard about players that do roleplay in sky ( do sometimes but never took it seriously, it is a game after all), and sometimes, things get taken out of context, or taken too far. If Min was uncomfortable, the best thing it to think thing over carefully, not emotionally, just straight facts. Then they should have came to you first to talk things out. Though given the age difference, I get how that could have been tricky to handle. I made a similar mistake of acting too quick on something, then going public with it. It was a misunderstanding and me jumping to conclusions. The reason why I am mentioning this is that the lesson I learned from that event feels relevant. Given what happened here and what could have happened if things got out of hand in a hurry. Sky is a game where the players play skykids, sure you get to change their appearance to look older, cuter, younger or whatever but that is what the game is. It is meant to allow players to communicate with each other on even grounds. You can never truly tell the person you meet is a kid in school, a university student, an adult with a successful career, a parent, a grandparent or even if they are stupidly rich or getting by day by day. As an avid player, I believe the game does not intend to, has not been or ever will cater to bad people who can prey on other players while acting like a wolf in sheep's clothing. I have personally not heard about this happening and am glad that you were clever to provide screenshots and presented your side. In my opinion (if that matters), there was a misunderstanding. Min seems to have thought she was going to be another victim of online manipulation, but given what I see in this video (which I think shows the whole story clearly via screenshots) she jumped to conclusions and could have damaged someone's reputation. Once you put something out in public, you can't just ask people to forget it and take it all back. Owning up to any mistake made is the best step, just learn from it, and let it go. Sometimes a person would think they are the victim, other times it is the other person that is actually the one being victimised.

This is why *EVERYONE* needs to mindful, on either sides. Because, in the end of the day ...We all still a person. Unknowingly, we may hurt as much as we cared for others. 😐

That's why we need to be careful with every word we say to anyone who's underage. It's quite sad that this happened and that it was misunderstood by your "friend", honestly I believe there was nothing wrong with saying that a skykid is cute. However, it seems she simply blamed you, apologized and blamed you again. I would block ppl that act like that, sometimes kids don't understand that it's not just emotional consequences that can be caused by a simple post.

I know they said that something happened to their sister and I’m really sorry for them, but I think that going to social media and making a post was a really bad idea. If they had discussed it with you then I feel like the problem would have been solved much faster. I also think that making an apology post and then deleting it was really dumb. Good think you got screenshots of everything so you could defend yourself. Also I really can’t agree with the comment they left on your channel. It felt really fake. I understand feeling bad, but making a comment saying you deserve all the hate and that you’re a terrible person is not the right way to go. You don’t grow by saying “I’m a terrible person, you should hate me.” You grow by owning up to what you did, apologizing for what you did and then moving on from the situation. Explain the reason why you did things, but don’t use that as an excuse. Also, this is like a side note but sky kids are meant to look cute. Sky is kind of like a social sim, TGC really pushes that they want players to interact with each other. So designing sky kids to look cute makes sense as they look friendly, especially to moths. TL;DR: This whole situation would have been solved had there been communication, saying you deserve hate in an apology isn’t the way to go and sky kids are supposed to be cute

Awww sorry you're experiencing this, me personally I wouldn't have taken it that way because some of the things these characters do are funny & cute. But I see both sides & can understand how something innocent can get a lil creepy or weird with all the trash that goes on in the real world society these days & more creeps do seem to be out in the open with this underage stuff then you normally use to hear about. Seems like you can't even enjoy gaming anymore without predators lurking so it can put some more on edge an alert that it could cause an innocent situation to be misunderstood. Maybe if this friend has had some sort of experience in the past with this it might have triggered their emotion & rash conclusion jumping. I completely agree that no one should attack this friend or assume anything because honestly we don't know this person's personal life or situations they ever faced so best thing to do is be supportive on both sides. And I think you done the right thing by bringing this to everyone's attention because you never know when another is going through the same thing & torn between not knowing what to do or how to handle or take things some one says. Honestly I think it's fine to have an age gap friendship, esp as this is just a game, but once you do establish a friendship, you should still be aware on what base it is. What's your foundation of friendship, are there rules set out, what can be seen as ambiguous or weird etc. And don't forget, communication is key

Some times, there's a lot of thing that you or other can misunderstand, and some of them might end up causing trouble. But if you can deal with it, you might able to stay out next time. Scary part is Parents and Rule regulation, since some parents and kids in other country can misunderstand as well and might... sue you for that if you're not careful enough. I’m a grandmother and when my youngest son was 11 he played a game (can’t remember the name) but he had made friends with what he thought was a young girl. I had taught him not to give away information about himself but he got comfortable with talking to her and told her his name and where he lived. I just happened to walk past his computer one day when he had left for ball practice and saw a conversation he was having with her. I knew right away this was no child he was talking to. I told the person not to talk to my son anymore. The next morning I walked up to him to say good morning and he was online talking to her again. She was calling me very bad names and had told him she was really 29 and was going to come and get him so that they could be good friends. She told him she could get him into wrestling.(he was really into that at that age) I called the police and it turned out this woman was 39 years old and was a predator. She was gonna come get my child! In today’s world you can’t be too friendly but you can’t be too trusting either. I know, it’s sad we can’t live in a world with no sickos but here we are. Did you guys know that 460,000 kids go missing in the United States alone every year? It’s true, Google it. It seems everything has worked out for you two and that’s good. I just felt the need to share this so you both can see why it’s not always what it seems to be. I’m raising two grandchildren now 12 & 13. You do make a valid argument, I must say. The kid didn't have to do what she did, because she thought she was defending herself, and others too. If I was 14 and didn't know what I was doing, I'd probably do the same. But being blamed by the internet is actually really bad, something that can ruin someone's reputation. And for her, I've known her for quite some time. I know she only ment well, because she's literally the kindest person I know. I'll try to get in contact with her and see if I can change her mind, I know that this is a big misunderstanding and I apologize on your behalf. People make mistakes, sometimes big ones, because they think they're doing the right thing. She may think her life is ruined, but not yet, she still has 1 more chance to make things right. Friendships are hard to re-build after a fight like this and since they are internet friends, it'll be harder when you can't talk face to face. The fact that they met in a game doesn't make it easier as well, seeing that it might be one of the few common interest they may have. I speak from experience. Lol all my friends call each other’s sky kids cute. I mean we don’t even know what each other look like so it’s not something personal. Sky kids are designed looking cute in my opinion. I’ve had a person I just met say my character was cute and I told them they looked cute too. Even after finding out each other’s ages it wasn’t a big deal. Sure there are creeps out there but just one simple statement shouldn’t be reason to accuse someone without a proper basis. Anyway just be careful everyone and try to be clear with that person first if you’re not comfortable with something.😕

After this video I realized I was not really careful calling my friends "handsome, cute, badass and etc". I guess a lot depends on how we talk to people and show our personality on daily basis, so if we say things like "you are handsome, cute" it will not be taken wrong cause the other person would just know it's the way we behave and say things, and would not creep out. But still, I did not really think such an action may be an issue and be misunderstood. I will be careful and more considerate to my friends in Sky so they don't misunderstand me. Don’t worry, i’ve been on both sides of this kind of a situation. I didn’t overreact like that but it did make me uncomfortable, and I expressed that, and later made up with the other person. I knew that they were someone I could trust and I took it in a way that it wasn’t meant to be. Now that i’m 19 I run into the issue of making people uncomfortable. I don’t often ask the age of the people I meet online. If they’re children, they’ll often forget that I don’t know what their age is, and they’ll assume i’m being purposefully inappropriate (even when what i’m saying isn’t inappropriate, regardless of age). Children (especially teens) tend to be extremely reactive and unintentionally toxic. They’ll grow out of it. We were all like that at one point, weather we want to acknowledge it or not. It’s an extremely rude and toxic thing to do (especially taking it public) but we’ve all done it at some point and hopefully we’ve all grown as people from these experiences. This person should feel bad but they don’t need the pressure and anxiety that comes with the judgment of a public audience. So, to anyone else down here, I say, don’t judge this person. I remember my middle school years were chaos and full of abuse from school and home. Children hurt one another because they’re self centered and overreactive. That doesn’t make them bad people. It only means they’re immature and they’ll grow out of it eventually.

I'm sorry but I can't feasibly place the blame on a minor. She may have misinterpreted your words, but as an adult, you should be able to realise that your message could be misconstrued that way. You should have specified that her *sky kid* looked cute when asleep. Sure the screenshot was there. But without the lack of clarification I can understand the reaction she gave. At that age, I imagine many people would have reacted the same way.

My take on this is: Minova shouldnt get attacked by any of yall. They are a minor and felt kind of creeped out to be woken up by a message like that (I would be too). All of you are saying stuff like 'complimenting sky kid isnt allowed anymore' etc but im not sure if ya'll realize he never said "Your sky kid looks so cute when they're asleep" No, he said "you look so cute when you're asleep" Which is a really creepy message to wake up to sky related or not. I personally don't think minova should have instantly posted about it online and blocked etc but maybe communicated with David and talked it out with him " what did you mean exactly?" etc but I 100% get where Minova is coming from seeing how she said that her sister went through something similar and she was just a bit panicky and scared. And the fact shes a minor and David isn't, so receiving a message like that definitely would send at least a small shiver down your spine even if it is sky related (since the word 'skykid' wasn't really mentioned in the sentence other than a picture ig but ive mentioned this before). But either way. Minova doesn't deserve the hate, she was just scared and didn't know what to do, so she did one thing she knew she could do. Post about it online to warn others which I think is a very noble thing to do but I suggest being sure of your case before doing so because you can really damage/scar a creators career and reputation with doing sutff like this. I don't think David was in the wrong here other than being a bit harsh towards Minova (I get why though, your image was nearly scarred because of a misunderstanding) who was simply a bit scared by the words. I see David has pinned Minova's words of 'hate me, blame it all on me, its 100% my fault' etc which i find kinda :/ but thats whatever. Don't start bullying or hating on Minova because she was scared Don't start Bullying David for not wording some things correctly(?) Sorry if I mis gendered either since I did say 'he' and 'she' sometimes but thats all. Hope this made sense! and keep in mind, this is my take/view/opinion about this.

They are a kid so they just panicked. Can't judge a kid for doing what they thought was right at the time. In the end they did their best to fix everything and that's all that matters.

I kind of understand the head space I mean most of my friends in sky are people with families and jobs and very much so not my age so it can be a little weird when they call you cute but over time I learned that 9/10 times they are just being friendly and nice what I’m trying to say is they made a mistake but they learned from it Sorry if this made no sense

There's definitely a difference between "awww cute" and thirsting after a kid But considering skykids are played by players asking someone if they're OK with stuff like that doesn't hurt

There isn’t anything wrong with being called cute, it’s just how the other person perceives it and how the other person means it. I call my friends cute all the time and they call me cute, it’s just how you see it I guess. People might see it in a different way if it’s a guy telling a girl. It isn’t wrong to tell a girl she’s cute if your a man and you see her as a friend. It’s just how the other person perceives it. But if a guy is telling a girl that he doesn’t know that she’s cute I can understand she would feel uncomfortable. Even though this isn’t the case. Again this is my opinion, and it should be fine to tell someone their Sky kid is cute. No harm intended! ❤️

You're doing a good thing BUT just make sure to talk it out first when u feel suspicions rather than jumping straight into making it public. You did the right thing, but was just a bit hasty. Next time if anyone ever creeps you out, if you are on friendly terms with them, talk to them about it privately. If you aren't sure their response is good enough or not, ask for a third opinion from someone you know or who is older or has more experience about this who can show you any red flags they're familiar with. Trust your gut and try your best to get that feeling out of your gut (by digging for info and communicating) privately. And if that sinking feeling still doesn't go away, then you call in someone else and if it becomes clear this person is a creep and doing something weird, you can make it public. easy fix is using better language maybe. It does feel a bit weird to be called cute by an 18 year old as a 14 year old. But thats because the 14 year old heard "You are cute" and put themselves in the situation (which is easy to do). I think if the phrase was changed to "your sky character looks cute!" i feel like that is more friendly and puts an emphasis on the avatar rather than the person behind it.

if you feel on edge and having trust issues when playing a game then don't play, or just play solo 👁️💧👄💧👁️ i think she's been feeling on edge for awhile, so that message was like a "final strike" for her to voice her opinion to the public. tbh it's sad that she couldn't communicate with that person first if she feels uncomfortable, rather than spreading it directly to public. it's better to have a proper conversation and tell the other person whenever u feel conflicted or uncomfortable, especially if that other person is your friend 🥺 if they're your friend, they'll understand and will appreciate your feelings. i hope each side can learn from this situation, and will grow to be a better person. there's nothing wrong doing something wrong, as long we learn from it

I understand her reaction. Predators are still something to be careful about. But i think rather than instantly making it public, she could have confronted you. From what it seemed, she posted and then talked with you about it. I dont think the blame lies with either of you. She was good if there really was a predator in that situation then it's good she raised awareness. But you meant no harm. So there cant be anyone to blame in this situation. It's a shame that children have to constantly be careful of stuff like this thag actually does happen. Sometimes they think they can trust someone but then they can't. Games like sky are supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable but when bad people get into it, it just doesnt feel as safe. I hope you both are doing well
