I just This song really gets me no matter how many times I hear it. I've lost family in combat and have so many veterans in my family including my Daddy & husband. My Daddy couldn't take his nightmares and we lost him.

Lost a couple of friends from PTSD after serving in the middle east. If not for American Legion I would have lost a couple of more, but it really helped them through and volunteering gave them focus.

He didn't re-enlist, he just went back. Regardless of the loss of his friends, he still did his duty. The video is tragic. But also beautiful.

The saddest thing I ever heard my Daddy say after 4 tours in Vietnam "Was the luck ones didn't come home." He came home to a wife & 3 kids they had over those years & still was saying the luck ones didn't come home. He was the Best Daddy I could have asked for; but when Desert Storm hit in the early 90's that Daddy disappeared. I am the youngest & was the only one still home to see his change from Happy to sad & angry .

Yes, freedom comes at a price. Sometimes, I think it is harder for those who made it home. Our veterans need help to cope but are often penalized for seeking it.

We used to say in the Marines that freedom comes at a price but don't worry the Marines will pay your share. We fight for those that can't or won't fight for themselves. But that price can be really high. Semper Fi unitl Valhalla. NEVER FORGOTTEN USMC

Thanks for watching this video. US Marine vet. Lost 2 brothers while I was in and 3 more after we all got out survivors guilt sucks. At a brother's funeral all you can think about while you look at their family is I should be in that box not him, at a brother's gravesite all you can think is I failed. I will drink a horn with them all one day in Valhalla. Semper Fi to all my warrior brothers and sisters out there. NEVER FORGOTTEN USMC

I was a Navy Corpsman or what some would consider a medic. I turned 19 in the Philippines on my way to Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I was one of many that took care of 12 POW'S. It will forever leave a scare on my heart the sacrifices that those 12 men and women made for the sake of freedom for all! Thank you to all service members! USNS MERCY ❤❤❤❤

This band is one of the best bands ive heard if in 40yrs. More artists should promote the similiar gratitude to our troops. My dad was a vietnam vet when i lost him. Natural causes took him away. War is just ungodly. First time i saw this video the little girl dropping her teddy bear almost made me sob.😢 thank our troops, they earned it

Similar happened to a friend of mine. They hit an IED and he was the only one to make it. He was a medic and injured and in following with his values continued to try to help others when other medics were overloaded and pushed the shrapnel further in leaving him wheelchair bound. The flag from the convey was donated to Bixby, AZ's American Legion. I took several years for him to deal with the mental trauma more than the physical trauma.

I was a sweeper in Afghanistan. The Taliban rushed us. We were ambushed. I was shot through my left forearm after taking a bullet in my right hip. It became hand to hand combat, and we lost our translator and a 20 year old !!! I was slashed 3 times by a machete. War sucks. Came home to nothing but a few thanks. I was a father of 3 young children! Really?

He most likely re-enlisted because of the survivors guilt that he’s clearly suffering from. We may leave war physically but for any of us who did get deployed we all know that we truly never leave… we are still there… in our minds.
