I've used a 12.9" iPad Pro (2018) almost every day since I bought it in 2019. I bought it as a note-taking device for college and work, and now I use it as an e-reader, personal TV at the gym, to play games, and basically as my travel laptop. I’ve been using my 11” iPad Pro constantly since it came out, including upgrading to the M1 version. I use it for everything… Social media, writing and spreadsheets, video editing, photo editing, scanning every piece of paper that comes into my house into Goodnotes and on and on and on. I also bought a used Mini 4 for the other day to see if it seemed useful, and I absolutely love it. I think I’ll upgrade to a Mini 6 but I will still keep the 11 inch as my main desktop workhorse.

I couldn’t agree more, adding the iPad Mini into my daily lineup has been game changing. Having this, an Apple Watch Ultra (Cellular), and an iPhone 13 Mini (Wi-Fi), I feel like when I’m home my phone just collects dust on my nightstand, and when I’m out and about I have content downloaded to my iPad Mini, have my watch for checking notifications/communicating with people, and my phone only comes out of my pocket on a rare occasion to capture a moment or mindlessly scroll social media for a few minutes. 10/10 recommend the iPad Mini!

@Mehwhatevr
@Mehwhatevr 10 месяцев назад
@@hurmur9528 To each their own. :) I don't think anyone argues that the iPad mini 6 is the right choice for absolutely everyone or that it's superior in every single way. I think it's like the 13" MacBook&MacBook Air of iPads. any iPad larger than that is probably being used by pros and people who dabble in pro stuff. Or not being used at all. For me, I never used my iPad because of its size. by the time I start carrying around a 10" iPad in a backpack, I might as well just use my laptop. Better performance and better operating system for what I do. I was afraid the iPad mini 6 would be too small, but it ended up being perfect.
@hurmur9528
@hurmur9528 10 месяцев назад
@@Mehwhatevr Yes I understand your point. But I just do not see it like that. My phone is enough for my day to day use. And I do not want to overuse it so I even have a smaller one than I am comfortable with just because I do not like taking up the phone all the time. My most used screen on leisure is my TV since it is superior in quality to anything else I have. TV is also much more social in a family than the smaller screens. Regarding work it is more complicated. I simple do not want to bring work to my home so I have strict uses there. If I work from home instead at the workplace though I have a job computer. That one I only use for that and only for that. I do not want to mix things up. So in the end I find the 10 inch just enough enough portable and still very user friendly with a connected keyboard (also as a protective shield for the screen since I have kids).

I have a 4th gen iPad air, and I use it for… Well, a lot of things. Watching any type of content is perfect on an 11 inch screen, drawing is also really pleasant, nomad sculpt also delivers a great sculpting experience to an iPad (though if you are going to take sculpting seriously, you might consider buying iPad Pro, as, even with my low effort sculpts, it still lags quite a bit). iPad is also amazing for studying: checking your marks, making ToDo lists, reading books and even doing notes and homework. If you want a perfect all-in-one solution to study, watch content and draw/sculpt, I think iPad is a great choice!

I 100% agree. I’ve tried other iPads but keep coming back to the mini. I have my phone with me all day while I’m out of the house, but once I’m home it sits on my desk. The mini 6 is perfect for me to keep with me as I roam around the house. It’s the perfect size for being online, using social media, reading, or even taking calls of I have to. It really meets almost all my needs. I have a MacBook Air for when I need a laptop, and the mini for when I don’t. It doesn’t pretend to be a laptop like other iPads. Plus it’s great to travel with. It’s small enough to fit in any bag I take and can access all my media so I can connect it to the hotel tvs.

I get your point.. but lets just think logically. Although iPad mini doesnt pretend to be a laptop like other iPads, it pretends to be like iphone pro max or iphone plus but with less advanced cameras. It doesnt have a big retina screen unlike other ipads so videos consuming is not that enjoyable. Yeah, It is super portable because of his size.. but if the philosophy is - the smaller the better - get the iphone mini and you wont even know you have it in your pocket. I really think the only iPad worth of buying is base model ipad 9gen. For less money than iPad mini, you get more real estate for watching videos. So better value for your money. And thats my whole point basically.. in this world, you gotta be smart with your hard earned money.

The thing with tablets is that you need to have a use for them. And which one you want is determined by your use case. My 83 year old mother has an iphone and an ipad. She have never used a computer, but after my dad died she had to find something she could understand. My 11 year old kid has one posession he loves more than anything, and that is his ipad. But the latter one is getting old now, so I am in the marked for an ipad air for him. It is a better tablet, and he doesn't need the pro features. I don't either need pro features, all I wanted was a large tablet. So I bought a used ipad pro 12.9. I read a lot of documention and I find it so much more natural to browse through PDFs using my hands than on my laptop. Plus they are available all the time when I work like having a book next to me. Plus it is natural to draw diagrams and do brainstorming, to browse through my photo library and do some work on those etc.

I also am constantly streaming things that aren’t too distracting…… Spotify, Netflix, RU-vid… etc. It’s not feasible to try to use the iPad while working without a keyboard. She’s turned it into a part time job! It makes her happy and it gets her outside the home with activities. Later on in the year, I’ll eventually purchase another MacBook Pro.

Ive had an ipad pro 12.9 inch and I personally love it. I don't have a laptop, only a PC at home, so the ipad acts as a semi laptop while also being very versatile (a "laptop" in class, a tablet when on the go. it serves as a note taker, entertainment, artistic medium, etc). The iPad is perfect.

I really wish they'd come out with an M2 version of the iPad Mini, you know? And if they added an OLED display, it would be a total game-changer for my editing needs when I'm traveling. Imagine the performance boost with that M2 chip, making everything run super smooth and rendering lightning-fast. Plus, the OLED screen would bring those colors to life, with deep blacks and amazing contrast. Seriously, it would be the ultimate travel buddy. Fingers crossed they make it happen!

I watch streaming tv on it, I read books, I keep a diary, I listen to music, I watch (and learn from)RU-vid videos on it. I use it at least 5 hours a day. As you say, it’s the perfect size (almost exactly the dimensions of a hard cover book). I don’t usually take it with me out of the house - that’s what my iPhone is for. But at home, it’s the iPad Mini all the way (and only occasionally, my Macbook Pro). I recently decided I wanted something I could pocket and still draw on so that I could use it during lunch hours at work and when I'm babysitting at my daughter's house. After looking at tons of reviews, I decided on the iPad Mini 6th gen. I had an older mini but it was limited to iOS 9 and no Procreate, so I gave it to my daughter to use as a book reader. I use my iPad 6th generation all the time. In fact, I have ditched every other computing device for it (including a dreadful Windows laptop). I’ve been using computers (Windows and Mac but mostly Mac) intensively since 1985 and I find the iPad far better than anything else I’ve used in that time. I use it for writing, banking, internet perusal, video streaming via Chromecast, YouTubing, etc., etc., ad infinitum. It’s very portable and lacks the ‘clunkiness’ of a full laptop. The quality of the screen display is first class. I would have bought the latest iPad Pro 12” except for the poor reviews it has been getting and I’ll wait for Apple to get its act together before upgrading. Laptops are like dinosaurs by comparison. In my view.

Our household has no TV at home. Instead, each of us has their own iPads to watch what we want, including foreign language content as we are a mixed international family living in the UK. Over the years, dad has used an iPad Pro of various generations and hands it down since 2018 when it’s time to upgrade and so most of us use these. Mum and dad have an iPad Pro each, eldest child has legacy iPad Pro from years ago and youngest has regular iPad. When we want to watch something as a family, we use an iPad Pro 12.9 M1 and turn the volume up (and it is loud!). Every single day, into the evening. TV can be watched whilst emails can be answered, homework can be done, and games can be played. Our iPads are one of our main tech possessions, next to our iPhones of course.
