I always used to spend New Year's Eve at either an opera or a ballet. I'm not so much into parties. I accidentally saw Swan Lake twice, but I'm not complaining lol The food looked simple, but rich and cooked well. Delicious! What a beautiful way to spend a few days :)
Oh my goodness I must of missed this one! 😢 What a fantastic slow roast cooked hock! 😊😮 I’m starving now! 🎉 Erm but Opera/ ballet 🩰 defo not for me! Give a rock band 🎸 anytime but we are all different 😆 cheers 🍻
What an amazing way to end your trip. Every year without fail i watch the new year's day concert from Vienna and dream of being there sadly i never will due to healt. Theatre, Ballet, Opera is for everyone to enjoy young old regardless and no one should be embarrassed about going to watch these talented athletes, musicians and actors. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely fantastic vlog. My wife and I went to the opera last time in Prague and I have to say I enjoyed it so thanks for taking me there. Now the food Absolutely off the charts. That pork knuckle looked superb. Thanks Darren.
Used to live in Prague "Praha" in 1996. It was (and still looks to be a beautiful city." I loved the restaurants and Czech food. I lived in the Eastern part of the city. It was well outside the city center. My friend and I really enjoyed seeking local hidden gem restaurants where the locals ate. The food and atmosphere was absolutely wonderful.
My late wife and I would both agree with you about having strangers, or even people we knew, wanting to chat when at a restaurant. If we'd wanted company when out together we would have invited them in the first place. Now that I'm alone I love eating out by myself. Whenever possible I'll choose a table far from the madding crowd. Gorgeous setting, this one, by the way.
I always watch your videos to the end, but my word that was worth waiting for. The pork looked yummy, I'm glad you went back although i don't remember you having a bad meal, i loved the train delivery .🙂. Thanks for sharing. Take care. 😘
Great vlog Darren 👍 I think it's nice to talk to people when you are out and about . Rachael and I met a lovely couple from Switzerland in Liverpool one night who asked if they could sit on our massive table in a pub chain that did food. We had a great conversation with them, they were in their late 60's and had travelled over for a Beatles orchestra concert. I wish I'd have done my research before arriving because it was sold out. I would have loved that 😂👍
😂As per my post on the last video, in 89, we spent 24 hours on a bone shaker coach going across Europe only to find our host had booked a puppet theatre version of Don giovanni by Mozart on arrival. Suffice to say until the rousing "Don giovanni" chorus every 15 minutes we were all sond asleep. Happy memories and great food DJ keep up the good work DJ.❤
Great vlog DJ 👍Although I’ve gotta stop watching these before bedtime - as i fancy a sausage sandwich now! I went to my first ballet with the missus recently; The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House and loved it.
Oh my Darren, think you should’ve ditched the starter, what huge portions!! Lovely bit of shank end shoulder of pork! What a great place! Great vlog as usual!👍👏👏👏❤️
Well another excellent vlog .what a gorgeous meal and a lovely evening with a great show, perfect .life is exciting with new experiences . Making the most wherever or whatever you are doing . X
That pork shank was superb, but needed red cabbage,or sauerkraut, chips to greasy to go with that.I know you like Hendricks,I do to,but had a gin which I think was called Irish Gunpowder Gin,and it was delicious, with Fevertree tonic.See if you can find it,it’s worth a try.
The perfect ending to a superb 4 days in Prague. The meals looked delicious and I love the architecture too. Super video sweet .Thank you for sharing xx 🙏🏻❤️
@@DJsFoodTravels Hey up mate I thought the same, by the way if you have Lidl near you try their Dijon only cheap but nice taste with a bit ov heat about it, top set ov video's have always fancied going to Prague
Well you went up a notch in my book, going to that cultural experience was excellent. It was an interesting concept seeing the orchestra on stage. How can you eat so much🤣the starter would fill me up, I’d have a dessert . Beautiful place sells itself. Thank you.
Darren, this Prague getsway trip sounds like it worked out to be an amazing break and a great personal experience. I would love to try the genuine, proper sausage "schnitzel"and within the majestic setting of the old "Bohemia"/ Austro Hungarian Empire. Ive had goulash in Budapest Hungary. Their goulash there was lovely. I see youve gone for the Hendricks again to wash it down. Good choice. The place itself actually looked lovely. They were unbelievably high ceilings in that particular Old Prague establishment. It seemed to have a majestic and authentic character. It nust be why it was so popular. Your meat looked lovely, succulent and tender. It seemed to fall off your fork so easily it must have been amazing to actually eat . To be fair, It did look like it was mouth-watering . So good. I dont think you needed a dessert with such a portion as the one they gave you. That man who sat right in front of you at the ballet... Wow, Some people really are obnoxious. That was unbelievable. I know you are not about negativity on your channel and dont want to put a downer on this comment because apart from him and the couple of Southern England snobs sitting next to you in the restaurant, it must have been an amazing, lovely and very memorable evening. Darren you always give good, quality content in your videos. Life is often very grey but you help brighten it a little. Till the next one. 🙂 Great food; great location= great memories.
Omg, what a dinner and a half! The pork looked delicious....any crackling lovers are in for a treat! Definitely feel full & satisfied after that food. Great place, thanks for another great video DJ. Lizzie 👌🤗🥰
Hi Gary Watched all your Prague vids and all really entertaining, thank you. We are now planning on going to Prague in the near future. watch all your other vids as well.
WOW, that looked sensational…I am so glad I was eating at the time of watching this 😊 yes always…..even just a smile or a nod of acknowledgment goes a long long way, and if you end up chatting then so be it ❤ Just rude some people. Always nice to say good morning to folk as you walk past too…..especially on holiday
Nothing wrong with guys going to ballet-Opera! Like you said, its about the experience. My friend has invited me to a "friends rehearsal" for Swan Lake at The Royal Opera House ...... Will be my 1st time for ballet-opera show, & I can't wait. What an amazing venue, your show was in. A perfect way to spend your last day & evening in Prague! Lizzie 👌🤗🥰
I am insanely jealous!!😂😂😂😂 I'm slumming it in a Premier Inn tonight, and the closest thing I'll get to that pork is the bag of scratchings I have in my bag!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So what’s one up from ‘Off The Charts’ then DJ? Cos this absolutely was!! That pork!! Delicious. Prague looks so delicately beautiful. One of my favourite posts from you for sure DJ. Can’t wait for more cities and travels from you … loving this new channel! 👊🏻🍖🍽️🩰🎼🚎
what great entertainment at the end too - its not being a Girls Blouse DJ its cultured entertainment - the older I get the broader my appreciation of all the Arts gets.
Hi Darren, its Louise. The pork looks great , proper pork crackling. If ever i was in Prague i would go for the pork meal. Excellent music in the background of the video. The opera really sweet and beautiful. 😊
That always happens to me Darren. Everytime I go to something I take my seat and think I have a great view and just before the thing starts, the tallest person at the venue with a head like a planet always sits directly in front of me 😡
I find English mustard a touch on the bitter side, my favourite is Dijon nice and light with a lovely bite. As a pork lover that was more a joint than a knuckle but it looked delicious
I have been to that restaurant, lovely food/drinks! As for the Ballet/Opera- who cares if people do call you a wuss or whatever for seeing it-it brings joy to millions of people around the world! I have seen a few Ballets/Operas over the years but mainly been to musicals, plays, magic shows etc. I remember when I was in Primary School if I liked boy bands like New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Big Fun etc it was fine. Soon as I got to Secondary school I had to be gay to like boy bands-it bothered me for a bit but after a while I thought I don't get a toss- I love all kinds of music!
Hi Darren, I can see why you went back there to eat, the food looked amazing and so did the bar a beautiful place , we went to a ballet years ago for the first time and really enjoyed it
Well.....there's me having a yoghurt for breakfast, and then watch this food video, mate,,,,that is food porn of the highest quality, made my belly rumble when you bit into that crackling......right up my strasse,, keep up the great work !
The only meat I don’t eat but it looked delicious. I have my favourite in the slow cooker, a leg of lamb which began smothered in English mustard - you would love it. Your surprise ending…… I was ready to cover my eyes. I was half expecting a tiny glance of a red light district. I know, shame on me!!
Nowadays, everyone and their uncle shreds this, slathers it in sickly sweet BBQ sauce or bitter vinegar and calls it "pulled pork", as though it's a great American invention. In reality, it's basic European peasant cooking from centuries ago, and it is sublime, as is.
Oh boy, that pork looked superb. My favourite meat and that had my mouth watering. What a classy way to end an amazing visit to Prague. Stunning theatre. Did you enjoy the opera/ballet.
OK Darren, dedication to the cause 😊 Later the same day.The bright sunlight early in the day showed the bar oh so well, but at night the interior lighting. Twinkling light& shade fantastic. Your lunchtime garnish with the sausages was sliced peppers, evening chillies 😮Any reason? The Pork Knuckle 😊😊 slow cooked it may have been, but the moist meat, succulent, juicy fell away from the bones. A personal preference, regarding the crackling. If they could remove it then blast heat it,just so you get the crunch 😊 on the side. Pork 'n' chips. Magic ❤ Solo dining, by choice. I may let you into my space 😮 I may not. Just let me enjoy my meal. And should I be filming for a vlog, as long as I treat you with curtesy and don't disturb you Chill😊 Live entertainment, cultural enjoyment can't be beat😊( even when a moron sits in front of you 😢) And what a setting ❤ Watching the last 2 videos, in a cold, wet, end of February in London.Shows how important it is to make memories, and keep your soul afloat in a happy place. Thank you Darren. Allan&Family
Bloomin H. I couldn't finish the first course let alone the pork knuckle. I once had a huge knuckle in Brussels. Had to ask the waitress to wrap it for me so I could take the uneaten meat back home to Paris 👍
6:45 OPM London Canary Wharf your favourite area - Hello Darren Sir. Pork Knuckles at Prague were amazing...and then that 5 storey massive disco by the Charles Bridge. London has lost its magic
Ham hock, cheapest but best pork/crackling.Our local butcher cooks them fresh everyday..£3 each...👌👌.. Regarding the people on the table next to you,to be honest Darren,i would find it quite strange if someone sat nxt to me and my missus in a restaurant with a camera in front of him filming himself eating and talking lol...its not the norm shall we say..
I went to see the classical spectacular in Manchester with live cannons and muskets lazers fireworks and I looked at the programme and thought apart from a few I thought I didn't know the other tunes first tune was the fruit and nut advert 😂 I knew them all just not the names
Office lads we had Absinthe sessions - Disaster then off to near the Karlovy Lazne - Nightclub 5 floors!!! Need 30 colleagues not alone!! Not into Ballet , but love Romeo and Juliet
I have eaten at some great restaurants in Prague but not that one. Bar looks fantastic. I also tend not to socialize at dinner when I’m by myself but might at s bar having a drink!
@DJ, not sure how I missed this one but popped up in my YT today 16.04.2024. BLIMEY, Darren, 4 sausages for your starter, I would have not had that and just concentrated on the main which looked SUPERB.
I saw a Stephen Fry show at The Palladium a couple of years ago. And the family behind me started to proceed to unwrap sweets, with all the rustling of plastic and foil. I had to turn round and tell the father off of the family. Who are these people!😡 Great looking food BTW
