Mild trivia: Bheema apologizing to the tiger is symbolic to Indian mythology - according to which all animals are descended from a group of Asuras called Nagas. Nagas' lore traveled to China, where they were worshipped as Long, or Asian dragons. All Asuras are children of a son of Brahma, the elder Sage Kashyapa (the namesake for Kashmir). Similarly, humans are descended from Swayambahu Manu, another son of Brahma. Thus making all humans and animal-kind long-removed cousins. The name "Manu" is the basis for why our race is called "Maanava" or "Man" in most Indo-European languages like Sanskrit, Latin or proto-Germanic.

Little fun fact for y'all non-Indians (if this hasn't been mentioned yet), Ram and Seetha (usually written as Sita) are a married couple in the great Hindu epic known as Ramayana. The story revolves around Rama (a reincarnation of the God Vishnu) fighting the evil King Raavana of Lanka to save his kidnapped wife. A lot of Indian movies have these two names linked together. They usually have a strong bond/relationship and commit their lives for the good of others as described in the mythology

@adarshsingh1745
@adarshsingh1745 Год назад
@@peanuts6293 yes many things in the history we don't know. Even if the flying chariot is not a real thing according to our limited observation and limited knowledge of science. The places like Ashoka vatika, the story of Ram and his Lineages is all true. There is no way someone living in north India would know about Ashoka vatika, a small garden in Sri Lanka from thousands of miles apart. It wasn't even a jungle that would be famous nearby. Also Ramayana happened lakhs of years ago so yes finding evidence of a flying anything is almost impossible even if its existed
@peanuts6293
@peanuts6293 Год назад
@@adarshsingh1745yes, as I said, many of the things have probably happened, but as it has been told from one person to another for many years, many changes probably occurred, and it is definitely exaggerated a bit. Not saying its untrue tho, I'm sure Ram and Ravan and Sita and Laxshman all were real people who had a real war, but I still don't believe some things, like the flying chariot. If we were really that advanced back then what happened to all that now?

there is always this person who'll come to say it's history, not mythology. I commented about the symbolisms in RRR in another reaction. I made a mistake by using mythology as a term and people got mad. It's crazy how people don't notice that someone put an effort to type all the symbolisms but those people who did nothing are there to correct your mistake which is not really even a mistake but more of a commonly referred term.

I've watched you guys react to Jojo's for a long time, so seeing you guys do RRR (as a South Asian-American) makes me so happy! I wanted to leave some notes for any questions you guys might have had... 00:01:10 - It is extremely common in India to have 3-hour long movies. I think this is just a hold-over from stage plays being converted to films in the early days of Indian cinema. 00:02:55 - The Indian subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka) were colonized in some form or another from the 14th century up until the late 1940’s. This film taking place in the 1920’s means it is at the tail-end of British rule in the region. 00:08:38 - The symbol seen on Ram’s necklace in this scene depicts the letter “Om” (ॐ) which is usually used as a symbol of Hinduism. 00:12:45 - The colonization of South Asia is one of the most brutal periods of the British Empire. A 2022 paper found that an estimated 100 million people were killed in a 40 year period from 1880 to 1920-that’s more than all famines in the Soviet Union, Maoist China, North Korea, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, and Mengistu’s Ethiopia combined. The real estimate of deaths over 200 years of British Rule is thought to be far greater. They took resources worth $45 trillion; making India go from owning 35% of the entire world’s GDP to 2%; having a life expectancy of 20, and a literacy rate of 12%. 00:17:37 - This event is known as Dahi Handi. Young men form teams, make a human pyramid, and attempt to reach/break a pot which usually has yogurt or butter in it. This is done during the celebration of Krishna Janmashtami (a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of the deity Krishna). In the film they both reached the top together and broke it together, symbolizing their new friendship. 00:18:00 - In many cultures, there is a belief that eating with the left hand is unsanitary. The left hand is used for wiping yourself after going to the bathroom, while the right is for eating. This has carried over since ancient times, where now it is considered bad luck to eat with your left hand. 00:42:29 - As I’m sure many other comments will and have pointed out 😂 the director’s name is S.S. Rajamouli. Prior to this, he directed ‘Baahubali’ parts 1 and 2, which were the highest-grossing films in India. Many point to ‘Eega’ as another one of his strong films. 00:56:24 - This is a reference to the Ramayana-one of the two important epics of Ancient India. In the Ramayana, the character Seetha is kidnapped and her husband Rama has to rescue her; which is the opposite of the situation here. Hence why Bheem says that Rama should find Seetha, and not the other way around. 00:58:23 - Tying it back to the Ramayana reference above, here Bheem says something along the lines of “I’ll burn down this Lanka if I have to.” In the original Ramayana, the character Hanuman (Bheem here) is sent to check on Seetha (Ram/Raju here). During this time, Hanuman sets ablaze the kingdom of Lanka (modern day Sri Lanka) where Seetha is being held captive. 01:00:35 - The statue seen here is of Rama - the titular character of the Ramayana. Rama is said to be a human incarnation (avatar) of the preserver deity Vishnu, and has become deified in his own right. Rama is known for his use of the bow and arrow-a boon which he received from the deity Shiva to defeat an evil demon king. 01:01:47 - The song here is titled “Raman Bheemam”, and is referencing both Rama of the Ramayana (represented by Ram/Raju here), and Bheema-a character from India’s other famous epic, the Mahabharata (represented by Bheem here). Ram’s silhouette in the light makes him look heavily like Rama, who wields a bow and arrow, has long flowing hair, and is typically depicted as wearing orange pants. 01:09:12 - The man here in red is actually the director, S.S. Rajamouli. He likes to make cameos in his films, so this was his self-insertion in the celebratory ending! I’m glad you guys liked the movie so much! Maybe we’ll see you react to more Indian films down the line!!

@@muzix1575 Bruh that's just what happens in action movie productions. Sometimes things go wrong no matter how prepared you are. One of the kid stunt double for harry potter in the second movie landed wrong and fucked up his spine and became paralyzed for life. You wanna comment on that or are you just gonna bitch about this one because it's not a hollywood production?

The greatest Film Bromance I've ever seen since Vegeta and Goku,Murtaugh and Riggs from Lethal Weapon and Rocky and Apollo from the Rocky series. This is the best depiction of what I'd consider a live action anime since Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer. And that Dance Battle reminded me of when BET used to replay YOU GOT SERVED all the time and how nearly every black Teenager was trying to be like Omarion after that movie.
