Crystal came to my 21-day nervous system tune-up in the Fall of 2015 when she was suffering from a deep depression and severe anxiety. She felt like there was no hope because she'd thought she'd tried "it all." But she hadn't. Slowly this fog lifted as she learned the importance of healing from a nervous system perspective. Have a listen. Her story is pretty darn powerful.

A great video, I really relate to Chrystal’s story. The more I watch these videos, I see how the nervous system work is the right path for me. I’m going to sign up for Smart Body and Smart Mind. Irene you are amazing! I have been doing the 21 Day Tune Up. I am learning so much and I feel the past traumas are coming up and I’m able to be with the sensations.

This was great to listen to thank you. I have two sons and a daughter, she is the youngest and my health problems got seriously bad after having my daughter who is now 4.5. It's incredibly triggering for me to have a daughter in particular but also having 3x children. My nervous system shot to pieces. I know it comes from my own childhood trauma (non obvious) and I need to do this kind of work. I have been diagnosed with ME/CFS. I literally cried through this interview. I'm going to explore Irene's free resources

Thabk you so much for this story. Because I was at the same place, and I understand how it feels when you are totally paralized from panic, out of function.

The entire video really opened my eyes , but specially the last 5 minutes where she talks about going back to antidepressants, because all she wanted to do , was to be able to take care of her daughter again..that is where I'm at exactly right now. Anti depressants didn't work for me anymore last year. I'm still working and moving around , but I really feel my nervous system being all hijacked. It's been like this for a few years now. I've had the 21 day tune up for like about 1 year. And I will Begin my journey to healing. I want to be happy again. I want to be back and grounded for myself and my family. Thank you 😊.

I'd love to try the 21--day tune up but it costs 300 dollars, I live on 200 Euros a month, which covers just the basics! If I had a salary, Id gladly buy it! I live in the country and homestead because being in a city or having a boss is too overwhelming, so I live on very little money. I have been struggling for years with chronic depression, panic attacks, emotional pain, isolation, anxiety, paranoia. I have a forest garden and I offer workshops, thats the best I can do to help society, offer solutions for environrmental restoration and sustainable ways to eat healthy food, but the market or government subsidies (which favor industrial agriculture) doesn't value my contribution because we live in a crazy society! So I haven't been able to pay for therapy all of these years. I've been stuck in this catch-22, not being well enough to make money to pay for therapy, but needing therapy to help me get out in the world with certain projects and ideas I have that would make money!

Arg the catch-22. It's so wonderful hearing how you contribute to your community in such important ways. I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles and hope things switch for you soon. Especially because you are providing/giving back. Irene has a ton of free resources to check out - irenelyon.com/free-resources/ and keep watching her videos as they often lead to great insights :) Wishing you wealth in many ways. Nicole - Team Lyon

@illa de lagos I'm curious whether you could ask your audience/community/friends/family for donations, or even barter a little bit to be able to save some extra money? It sounds like you are providing a great service to your community and I bet that the people who value you and what you provide would LOVE to support you in doing something that would help you, which would allow you to be an even greater contributor to the world.

@paulinauka6977 Год назад
I get you. It was similar with me. However, keep in mind that probably when you do the tune up all the problems like anxiety and depression will go away and you will be able to live normally and work and make money. The best decision would be to borrow the money and do the course and I'm sure that will pay off later. Btw I have just gotten to know that on Cyber Monday there's a sale and the course is $100 off! I wish you all the best in your journey

How does this compare to the limbic system neural retraining? Thank you!
@IreneLyon
@IreneLyon 5 лет назад
Thanks for your question Carolann. Here's a really important piece of information that needs to be addressed regarding healing the limbic system: The brain is Neuro-Sequential. Meaning.... brain development occurs sequentially. Like a set of building blocks going vertically: one thing has to happen, and happen well, before the thing on top of it can happen. And, like a puzzle: Meaning.... certain pieces have to be in place before another piece that's meant to fit, will indeed fit. SO, we need to heal at the level of the Brainstem first. The brainstem is the oldest part of our development. It's the part that INITIALLY and instinctual registers THREAT. Repeated experiences of a threat response, and specific experiences of threat and trauma, begin at the Brainstem, and get laid down emotionally in our brain within the limbic system. Limbic system neural retraining could be useful, and I've heard from some folks that indeed, it has been. But for many, it doesn't satisfy, and that's because the Brainstem hasn't been treated first. Per your interest, you can learn much more about this, know as Neuro-Sequential Model of Therapeutics. Developed by Dr. Bruce Perry. This organization has done an excellent job of organizing and explaining the work: beaconhouse.org.uk/tag/neuro-sequential-model/ Janice - Team Lyon Moderator

After a lot of searching I think I might have found what I'm looking for. After years of extreme stress and sleep deprivation my body is stuck in fight and flight. It seems as though stress trauma has gotten stuck in my body and resting, meditation, acupuncture, exercise or diet doesn't seem to help. The smallest thing sets off a stress reaction, even though I'm not stressed over anything. I'm gonna try the 21 day tune up but I'm very sad that the signing up for 2019 SBSM has already gone and that I have to wait until March 2020 to start it... There is a lot of info on the youtube-site so I need some help navigating. What videos and techniques could I start with now to help my body take care of the trapped trauma? I will definitely do the SBSM in 2020. Please give me some recommendations!

Hi Joakim. Seth here, Irene's hubby and colleague. I think the best place to start is with the material in the 21-Day tuneup, as that will give you a solid foundation such that you will better understand how to find useful support through the various RU-vid videos and articles that Irene has. But if you want a few basics to get started in the RU-vid world as well, I would recommend these... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CUDlnH4sZIY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ICsbXUCKmM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RoPOmAb108w.html

@@sethlyon4064 Thank you so much! I read your article about anger and frustration: sethlyon.com/healthy-aggression-the-way-to-un-frustrate-frustration/ Do you know a similar way of releasing stored stress? I read the 7 steps to de-stress, but that seems to be more when stress surges and not to release stored trauma. Thx!

Thank you for sharing but what if you know you have hormonal balance. Will it work for that as well?
@teamlyon3109
@teamlyon3109 3 года назад
Hi Lynn Cross, Jen here from Team Lyon. I'm imagining you might mean hormonal imbalance? If so, yes, growing nervous system regulation and healing trauma can often help with hormonal balance. Healing hormonal imbalance can also sometimes require a multi-faceted approach, of which this work can be an important piece.

So how much help did she get from the course vs private sessions? It seems like the major part of her healing came from private sessions.
@IreneLyon
@IreneLyon 5 лет назад
I'll have to ask Irene how much one on one work Crystal did. It's important to note that every person will need different things. The 21 day program is a great introduction into this work and a good place to start in the self exploration and understanding of NS healing. It helps to lay the groundwork on your own so you gain a number of tools and an awareness of NS healing which will enhance your experience if you decide to do one on one sessions. There are also many situations where one on one work is needed to be supported through certain traumas, especially when dealing with developmental trauma. Again. It's different for everyone. One other thing to note is the content in the program is meant to be integrated into your every day and an on going process. We have many people go through the content over and over as the learning is never ending. Just like the healing process! :) I'll get back to you about Crystal! Nicole - Team Lyon Moderator

how much time does the 21 nervous system tune up take per day? 30 minutes? An hour? I want to know because I don't have a lot of energy because of being in freeze mode 24/7. Thanks
@teamlyon3109
@teamlyon3109 4 года назад
Hi Ireen, Seth here from Team Lyon. It depends on the day but it's generally in the range of 15 - 30 minutes, some days less. There are two video lectures that are closer to 45 minutes, and there are some days that include optional bonuses that would add to the time if you choose to do them.

I wonder what role does relationships and personal interactions and support play in healing...
@IreneLyon
@IreneLyon 5 лет назад
A huge roll! Safe social relations and the ability to self sooth is an important piece of shifting out of the fight/flight mode. We need these pieces to establish regulation in our system. The more regulation we have on board, the more capacity and resilience we have. The more we can heal. Nicole - Team Lyon Moderator

Will this approach help severe chronic nerve pain.
@IreneLyon
@IreneLyon 2 года назад
Hi Jacqui Perkins, Jen here with Team Lyon. It's hard to say for sure whether this work will help a specific physical symptom. There's definitely a chance that it may help as some nerve pain is nervous system related. You might start by trying a few or Irene's free practices. Then if you feel drawn to explore further you might check out her 21 day Nervous System Tune Up. I'll share a few links in case you want to give a few practices a try.
