Lacey , Please don't feel like it will just pass. Go to your doctor and get some help. You will feel so much better. Postpartum depression is awful. I suffered deeply from it. I waited and waited and waited some more to get help and I just kept feeling worse. My mom and fiance finally talked me into going to my doctor for some help and I'm so glad I did because I felt so much better after seeing my doctor. I felt like I could be a better mom and just overall felt better about life. Hope you feel back to your happy bubbly self soon ❤️

I was also going to say, don’t wait! I had postpartum for 2 years and thought they might try to take my baby or think I’m a terrible mom. Please! I regret not doing it sooner. I feel like I lost 2 years of being with my daughter. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I feel for you and I'm very glad your Mum and fiance were so supportive. I think post natal depression is very isolating and the general thought is having a baby is wonderful and everything is well in the world when the reality can be very different. It's the hormones, adapting to always putting your babies needs above everything, lots of visitors, uncertainties and sleep deprivation going on. It's a lot of pressure and responsibility to work through, cope with and those are things that always happen but if a child is sick or there were complications it make it even harder. I'm sadly unable to have biological children so I became a teacher and foster Mum so I haven't experienced these things however due to my illnesses I have and continue to have sleep deprivation for many reasons. It's incredible how much little or broken sleep can have an impact on everything from mood, memory loss, dissociation to one's body starting to shut down. I think by sharing your experience here in the comments and hopefully with other Mum's you meet shows that postnatal depression is very real and it's something that can be talked about without the fear of being judged and I think you are a special person for sharing your private experience. I wish you and your loved ones well in everything you do. Xx

It is hard to see someone continue to struggle, and I am glad she has access to resources if she so chooses to seek the help she really and truly deserves. Getting help is vulnerable, and typically when people are most anti getting help, they need it the most.

@@CMKCMK-ox3kd very wise words. I'm sick (twelve years ago when I was 32 my lifelong specialists gave me two years at the most to live which was realistic considering my extensive health history) and I have lost both my parents in the 18 months. When it was medically unsafe for me to live alone I moved back in with my parents. I was blessed with the best parents for me and I'm proud to call them my friends. We were a great team together looking after each other. Sorry this is a very long way to say that I don't ever ask for help but I'm coming to the realisation that because of my health I will need to ask for help from my wonderful support team. I never felt that more when two men broke into my house about three weeks ago when I was at home. My neighbours were amazing and dropped everything to be with me as they know I'm vulnerable. I can imagine you would be a good neighbour like that. I really appreciated reading your comment because it reminded me of my parents so thank you.

Speaking from someone who is in the mental health field and has been in therapy for years myself, you don’t have to wait for rock bottom before getting help. You deserve help before rock bottom. Many therapist offer virtual therapy these days, so even if it’s can’t-get-out-of-bed day, you can still access support. Just a thought. You are brave for speaking on this topic publicly and I’m sure many women feel less alone after watching your video. Be well Lacey!

Thank you for sharing. Therapy helps through the lows, but therapy also helps through the highs! It’s been so helpful for me to stay on track, for keeping me inspired (and sparking✨), and it’s there so when I hit those lows again and can’t get out of bed, I’m not starting from scratch. Highly reco for anyone in any phase of life

Oh Lacey I can completely relate. I have suffered with anxiety and depression for my entire adult life. After having a healthy baby at 44 I sank into severe postpartum and I felt so guilty. Here I had a perfectly healthy baby but still wasn’t happy. So I upped my meds after a week or so and it helped immensely. I’m so glad you recognized it and are working through it. Therapy also helped too. I definitely missed you guys. So happy you’re feeling better.

Let’s talk about how sweet Eli is. Taking Bexley so Lacey can take some time for herself. Absolutely amazing. ❤️ glad you’re getting better Lacey but take some time for yourself and your family! Mental health is very important! I’ve struggled with my mental health since I was 12. I’m 16 and still struggle, currently don’t go to therapy but I’ve been to multiple therapist, and was admitted to the hospital in 2018 for su*cidal thoughts. So please take time for yourself. Don’t over work ❤️ Hope Eli is doing alright, he looked really upset when you started talking about your postpartum depression. 🥺 he’s a good one. We love him.

I’m old enough to be your grandmother. My advice: Create a flexible schedule to guide you through the day. It is a must to go outside and immerse yourself in nature. I know it’s hot where you live, but even if you can just touch your bare feet in the grass every day, you are connecting with nature which is so healing to the soul. Make rules for yourself about what time you want to get up and when you want to take care of things you need to do. I wish you well and remember, in this day and age, there is no need to suffer. Medication just might be the springboard to a faster recovery. ❤️

Thank you for sharing. I really hope your doing better or as good as possible some days will be harder then other but just allow yourself to have days sometimes where you let yourself feel your feelings. Im glad you have support! It doesn't make it better or easier just helps. You got this mama

Hey girl! I’m so sorry you’re going through that❤️ I had post partum depression/rage with my second baby and it was soooo hard. I saw a naturalpath to help deal with my hormones which was so awesome I had relief from the rage almost instantly after her remedy she gave me. But I would encourage you to go to a councelor or therapist. I found it helped me so much to just be heard and sometimes when you feel crazy for your feelings it’s good to just have another person there who isn’t family or friend to support you. I know I struggled a lot thinking my husband and family were just extra nice and understanding bc they were family not because I deserved it (sad I know.) but it just helped a lot between the 2! Around 19 months ppd and I’m doing really well don’t get down on yourself it’s such a hard thing to deal with and at times it feels so unfair but you will get through!❤️ so brave of you ti admit to as well I know it was so hard for me to I denied it for a few months❤️

As a person who has struggled with depression since they were a small child i can fully relate to your struggles. When feeling that way its hard to want to get out of bed, get dressed, be clean, eat, anything really. Even when you want to do something so badly your body just..can't. I think that it's really brave and inspiring that you talked about this because it could help other people who are struggling. Whether its realizing they're struggling or that they aren't alone. I'm glad to see you have such a big support group and that you are starting to feel better! :)

I can absolutely relate to what you're saying, Lacey. Sometime you need to be down and just alone to deal with your feelings and other times it's great to reach out. It sounds like you know when you might need to now, which is good. Having a supportive partner is key. I was not so lucky but I did find other new mom's to talk with and relate to which really made a difference. I had one scary time, after my 3rd baby was born that I can DM you about, if you think hearing someone else's story would help you at all. The best thing you're doing is talking about it and letting your loved ones know what you're feeling and going through. I know sometimes it feels like an eternity that you'll be in a slump but you won't. As people remind me, a bad day is only for 24 hours then it's a new day. Most often, they're right. Just getting a good night's rest, which can be tricky with a baby, helps give you a new perspective. Hang in there. You've got a great partner and family to carry you through & viewers that care about you, too. You're doing great so please be gentle with yourself , take care of you and allow yourself those times alone to take a shower or get your hair done while Eli or another trusted loved one takes care of Bexley. You've got this and I mean more so than most, including people a lot older than you with different life experiences. Be proud of who you are because we can tell that those who love you most, are very proud 💗💗💗

Thank you for talking about this Lacey! I'm so thankful you and Eli have each other, it's amazing to see how supportive you both are and that you're always there to give love and support whenever the other one needs it ❤ I haven't had post partum depression, so I can't completely understand how you feel, but I've been struggling a lot with depression, anxiety and other things so I get the mental health struggle. And I get your point about therapy, but I just wanna put it out there that therapy doesn't have to be about learning to talk about how you feel. You could get a lot of other great help as well, so if you feel like you just don't know what to do, maybe you just feel down and sort of like everything is a little heavier than normal, maybe giving therapy a chance could be a good idea. I hope you continue to feel better and better! And please know that we all appreciate when you upload a video, but there's no pressure and I think everyone understands if you need to take a break to care for yourself!

You literally put into words how I feel about my partner when saying that Eli was there and understood that sometimes you just can't understand. Please remember that you're loved. We can wait for another video, it is so much more important that you get the help you need when you need it and if that means having a break from posting or just missing one post, then that's fine. Good on you Lacey for shinning a light on this. We need everyone to understand that post partum depression is actually pretty common but still so hidden and mis understood. I too had it but did not recognise it until years later when the fog lifted. It was sad that it wasn't diagnosed and instead people just thought as I was an older mum (you get criticism for being young or old!) that I was not coping because I was too old. I hope that you continue to improve and enjoy your beautiful treasure Bexley. 💕

Know it is normal to feel this way and a doctor can help you get over this. Think of it this way…..What is the Optimal way you would like to feel? We are in the 21st century! Why struggle when help is simply a phone call and one appointment away? And oh….You won’t even need to leave a voicemail! ☺ Now RUN don’t walk…RUN and make that phone call!

Hormones are truly such a crazy thing. I deal with PMDD(different then postpartum but still has to do with female hormones) which starts around that time of the month, and it is awful. I started getting very bad anxiety/depression around this time and started realizing it’s really only around that time. I’ve thought about reaching out to a doctor as well. Just remember if you feel as though you need help, please reach out to someone they are there to help you not judge you. Most of them deal with these type of things themselves. And I’m the same way about burying feelings, but it can make things worse sometimes. Your feelings are valid and matter, and we 100% understand if you need to take a break sometimes. Being a new mom is hard. But Lacey you are so strong, I believe in you you’re an amazing mommy and doing your best.💕

Thank you for sharing your story❤ so many women go through this and it's good to have people talk about their experiences and to let them know they are not along. 19 years ago when I gave birth to my fist baby I had no idea what was happening to me I was crying all the time I thought I was a terrible mum so I went to the doctor to ask for help and they actually made me feel worse and ashamed 😪 Because back then it seemed to be a taboo subject and there attitude was just get on with it. Thank God it's not like that now. Thank you again and I wish you all the best and it's great you have the support from your family xx

Thank you for your transparency and sharing your experiences. So many women go through this and feel alone and think it’s all their fault. I’m also happy you waited to talk about it when you were ( for the most part) Ready to talk about it. You are so strong. I’ve been watching crazy middles for years now. You got this. 😊

I hope things get better for you soon. I was thinking, for upload ideas maybe you can do Q&A videos or some challenge videos. It might help to have those on the back burner just in case you can't film that week or you're not feeling up to filming that week.?.?.?. Idk, just a suggestion. I know life is hard, especially with a baby. I was just trying to think of some ideas for you to still be able to work/upload (when you are feeling up to it), and not get too stressed. I know I watch everything that you upload so it doesn't matter to me lol! Again, I hope you, Eli and Baby B are all doing well😁

Anyone experiencing this should talk to their OB doctor. Can you imagine how this could have been if you both worked outside the home and if you didn't have your families for support and help?

I felt this blog so much with the PPD. After I had my son 3 years ago I realised I PPD after about 3 months too. And I am only just getting a grip of how to manage my surges etc. It helps to have the right people around you. Much love to you and the family from mine. You are doing amazing. Xxx

Lacey never be ashamed or embarrassed and never worry about vlogs! Post partem is a big thing and lots of women get it after childbirth. This may be a great platform for you to talk to other mothers about it especially younger Moms like yourself who may not have the help of their moms to say to go get help. Always go and talk to someone. It will make you feel better. I never had it but I do know a few friends that did and therapy really helped them. Thankfully you have a great man there to help you through. take care of yourself.

Lacy, I had postpartum with my first Girl almost 18 years ago. I would like to say it gets easier as they get older but that is just not true. Hang in there as it does get better. Your lucky you have Eli as my ex didn’t get it. I did go on to have another girl three years later and it was so much better that time around. So don’t worry just because you had it once doesn’t always mean you will have it again. Miss your posts and hope to watch more soon.

Post-partum depression is so hard to deal with. Hope you keep feeling better. I had it after each of my kids before it was really recognized and accepted. My kids are now in their 20’s.

Hi Lacey and Eli, I love your channel and I hope lacey that your starting to feel more of yourself and you feel better. I know postpartum depression is hard to go through, I got it after my son was born in 2019 and I'm still dealing with it as well as being pregnant with our third.

Postpartum depression is so common in many women, I can only imagine how hard it must be for you. My biggest fear when I become a mom is to have that specially cus I deal with depression since I was 12 yro, and cus I know how hard it is for me to deal with it and for everybody around me as well, as in your case for Eli and your daughter, unfortunately affects everybody. But I also think that is good for you to realize it and what you also said about that video you saw of you and the sparkle that you used to have before this, bcus now you just need to focus on that sparkle, cus you have it in you, you are that sparkle you know?! You just need to find it and light it up, it’s not easy and it might take some time still for you to being able to be real good again, but you definitely can do it, we all can! Some times we’ll have ups and downs but we need to focus on us and our mental health and everything’s gonna eventually get along! Also I love my therapist she’s the best. I have faith on you 💗 hope things get better for you guys, love!

Lacey I am happy to hear that you are doing much better. I had baby blues for only 5 days. If your symptoms continue, go to the doctors it means your hormones are off and medication will get it back to normal. Love the show. ❤️

Dear Lacey, your video just made me cry 😭 I’ve been watching you grow for a very long time, you were such a bubbly happy little woman so determined to get somewhere in life, you have a beautiful daughter and a wonderful partner. I don’t really understand what postpartum depression is and just hearing you talk about it makes me so sad for you, please don’t forget something, you are being so strong and brave for just admitting you have it, you made the decision to get help and I applaud you for that, sometimes women struggle with it for years afraid to get help. Mental health comes in many ways and forms and is an issue that we should all address it so please never feel bad talking about it on the internet, it helps women who experience the same things as you! I’m glad you are getting the help you need I just want you to be happy. ❤️❤️❤️
