@@IlikerycheExile started as a High School band in the early 1960s. It merged with a 2nd High School band causing its 1st name change. Two name changes after that was Exile. There have been so many members in and out of the band that when it gave a farewell concert at the Grand Ol’ Opry in 1993 that 21 current and ex-members showed up. The long-haired singer without an instrument is Jimmy Stokley. He was one of the kids from the original High School band. He left the band in 1979 or 1980, about a year or 2 after this hit, and died at age 41 from Hepatitis in 1985. The guy with the guitar is JP Harrington. He joined after the 2 HS bands merged even though he was Junior High at the time. Some of Exile’s country songs that one member or another wrote were not successful for Exile. Other country artists, like Alabama and Janie Fricke, covered them and turned them into #1 hits.

Love this song, my husband used to sing this to me when we were young married people. We were married 30 years and cancer took him. Love your reactions! Another great song from around this time is "It's so nice to be with you" by Gallery. You wont be disappointed....

God bless your husband and my condolences for your loss. He has really great tastes in music and I also dedicated and sung this song for my beautiful wife of 25 years at a Karaoke bar! Needless to say, she loved it and we'll be together till death do us part!

You don't see this very often: a #1 pop hit by a country group from Kentucky written by the leading glam rock songwriters from the UK. "Kiss You All Over" 😁+💧=😅 was the brainchild of Mike Chapman, who wrote and produced the song with his partner Nicky Chinn. 💋💋💋 I like this very much 💕

Interesting, I didn't know Chapman/Chinn wrote this song. I think it recorded at Group Effort Sound in Northern Kentucky where I live. I've recorded in that same studio.

I remember seeing this group on the TV show Midnight Special when i was young Friday night at midnight. Back then there were many music TV. shows like Soul Train,American Bandstand + others that i was loyal to on the weekends. Back then it was great cause you got to see & hear the artists & there songs before they would get air play on the radio stations. These TV shows were the 2nd reason i am a lover of music still to this day.

The crazy thing was, 'Exile' was a country band. This song was a big hit in '78. Played all over the radio back then. They never tried another pop/rock tune afterwards...

My Grandmother raised me in a disco in Pound, VA called the Poverty House back in the 70’s. I remember when this song came out and I sang it a month ago doing karaoke. I’ve seen Exile live and they’re still around.

We would dance to this at school dances and it was always on the radio. Lol... perfect for 70s teenagers! 😉 A suggestion for another song we loved is The Raspberries Go All the Way. Hmmm... watching this video I think the singer Jimmy Stokley looks similar to Jeff Keith of the band Tesla.
