Shaq is among the few people who actually understand this song and what it really means. Because it's about two things: both of them let them share each other's stories and they didn't interrupt or say "You're racist!" or "You mean nothing!" or something like that. Then they hugged it out at the end and it's really that simple. Keep up the great work Shaq
Nate Gruen Seems intelligent. Personally I would agree, but even more important I’m my opinion, Shaq has an extreme abundance of common sense, and toe the line morality. If we all would use more common sense and morality in our decision making, the world would be much better off.
@Jonathan Rodriguez I can confirm that, considering that he thinks that anyone from before the abolition of slavery in the United States of America is still alive is recorded proof that this man is not intelligent, not a bad guy, but not an intelligent one either.
something most reactors failed to do and completely missed the point of it all. Respect to Shaq for understanding and seeing both sides without picking a bias.
@@zipprgaming1232 there were still slaves in some places up until the mid 60's. I mean super uncommon of course, but u only calln him unintelligent.. bcuz of ur ignorance.
I love that he said he works hard and his goal is 1 million, then I looked at his sub count. If only more people would hear THAT PART of this video and take it to heart. In 2017, he had a goal and was willing to work hard. In 2021, he's almost tripled his goal from WORKING HARD. Hard work gets results. Crying about an invisible boogeyman of "system racism" keeps you right where you are. So either cry and be a loser, or buck up and become successful, like the black man you see running this channel. He should inspire everyone watching this as much as he has inspired me!
I say there are 3 sides to a story. "Your side, my side, and the truth!" We all have a sad story and we deside if we will be a victim or a survier. I choose to not be a victim. It's a daily challenge!
Kahlil Pittman I think he’s referring to the white guy’s view of black people living off government assistance and Shaq somewhat agreed and pointed out that he worked hard for everything he has.
@Everyday V because you still have to work for what you want it's not like you get to get everything free everyone does it's not racist it's just how a economy works the economy would be fucked if you got free stuff because your a different race
Treveon Mccurty besides the obama part. I can’t think of a white person I know who isn’t an obama fan. Personally I’m a republican that’s why I dont like him. In my own opinion I don’t like how he thinks. Not just cuz he’s black. But everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
It is facks and I fell like white ppl have to make rich or middle class blacks to buy expensive things because for example if a white person drives Prius ppl don't think anything of it but is a black person drives a prius there poor so they buy expensive thing than yall think is is stolen or rented so I fell like there is a higher standard of black ppl
This man says he wants to hit 1m subs through hard work. I come to this video 6 years later and he has nearly 4.2m. That’s the reward for hard work, well done sir.
Happy to see this 2 1/2 years later and hear him say "I'm at 15 thousand subs, but my goal is 1 mil" and see his subs sitting a 1.86 mil. Shaq deserves it.
ikr, i'm so used to just everyone going "omg this is so wrong reeee it's still white people and privilege" everytime he paused i went "oh great, here we go"
Man.. you said “I got 15,000 subs. Personally I’m not big my goal is 1 million”. You’re at 3+ million brother. Proud to have watched you get the recognition you deserved
I feel like he would of got it for this but they just gave it to him for lucky you just to avoid the heat of this song not saying lucky you is bad btw its one of my favorites
If you offended by either side of this song you missed the point of this song. Both sides made great points. I hope people understood this song it has a great meaning.
Amen, honestly Joyner Lucas is a genius bro, his goal when he made this song was to display two sides of a story and not back either side but to UNDERSTAND both sides and the message of the story
Absolutely right mate, we all too quick defending our side but forget that there is always two sides of the same story. Maybe we should listen more to mix race kids as they perhaps are better at understanding the two sides.
Didn't the song literally say that you can be racist even if you had a friend or family member of the opposite side? So Shaq saying that goes against the song imo lol
"Judge eachother not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." _- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr._ Edit from 4 months later, not expecting the comment to get so upvoted: I know it ain't at all the message of the video, message being we can never truly understand each other. But it's still a teaching we gotta keep in mind. We're afraid of what we don't understand, and that means if we can't learn what we're judging, we can at least learn to hold back the judgement. Not see people for their culture, respect their culture, and see people for their soul. See eye-to-eye. Not color-to-color. Impossible? Maybe. But just like understanding, if you wanna live free, you gotta try.
That reaction right thr, you people in its self is a racist comment my man bc you lumped an entire group together, that it the definition of racism bro, wow lol.
Shaq, this was a dangerous video to react to because 90% of reactions on youtube do not understand the point of this video and instead get busy taking sides and getting mad over it. You, my man, NAILED THIS! It takes ball to acknowledge the negativity that permeate both sides of reality, especially when it involves people of your own background. I applaud you for that! You are my favorite reaction youtuber, you engage with the viewers and are every man's best buddy. Much respect to you, my man. I hope you don't ever lose touch, keep doing what you are doing!
It was probablu because he knew Joyner was black beforehand. At first, the reactors thought the white guy was Joyner and got mad. Then from the shock of saying nigger at the end, they dont even realise neither of them were Joyner
I normally have no respect for reactions. But I like this guy because he seems to try to be honest and non bias. He Also addes to the content not just ridding on the videos hype but genuinely makes an effort. Good job dude you got a subscriber in me.
Because of the government! Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats want there to be racial unity. They want us to keep fighting amongst ourselves. Because they know that if we are constantly fighting each other, we won't be paying as close of attention to the band of liars and thieves we call government. Morgan Freeman said it best, "If you want to end racism, stop talking about it." Instead, the government and the media keep stirring the cauldron and feeding us the contents within it. Every day they work hard to drive the spike in further, thus fueling the divide between our cultures.
I’m a 59yo white woman and this is video is hard to watch, to listen to both sides and the anger they have explaining how they feel. But this is so very important for everyone to hear!! I swear if we all were to listen with our hearts and our minds open to what is said, many would change their minds. In a perfect world we would hug each other at the end ❤️🤗
This song is a piece of art. Being Puerto Rican, I have seen both sides. There are two sides of every story. Noone is right, Noone is wrong. It's time to hear each other out and unify. Keep on doing big things man, of all the reactions I've seen, you've understood both sides and have a level head when breaking down the bars. One of the many reasons I follow you.
Right I'm new and I'm like did he just say 1 million is the goal? My eyebrows hit the ceiling lol. Hold up when I subscribed could have swore I saw 3 million....(checking) um yes, yes I did see 3 million heh heh go a head bro!
You really are the only "reaction to" RU-vidr that actually understands the point of the song on both sides and doesn't get offended. Props to you for that man.
@The Nicole Show If a white person calls you the n-word or something just straight up racist of course you should be offended. But that's not the point of the song.
One of the best black guy reaction so far, normally black reactors freak out and blame the white guy in the video even though they dont get the point of the video. Keep it up bro.
edward "black guy reaction" that could be taken wrong way. He's a person who feels a way. Nothing to do with color. I'm white but let someone white try to belittle or degrade someone else for their race and see how quick I tell them to pipe down with that ignorant shit. That's the point of the song, that color shouldn't dictate shit. That and we need to be more understanding of each others points of view.
It’s a powerful message. I’ve got friends of every race, gender, sexuality, etc. I have no clue what it’s like to be them and I don’t try to. I’m a middle class white dude, how can I know? I can ask, we can talk, try to understand different perspectives, and get along. It’s not that hard if you don’t make it hard.
It’s really not difficult, it’s a system trying to make it hard. My wife was baffled (probably still is) that I say the n word around certain black friends. Made me feel weird saying it, but they know I don’t mean anything by it. I was the only white guy playing safety in high school, still the only white guy playing safety in college, of course a lot of those guys became my friends. Several of them could walk in to my moms house right now and she’d just say hi and ask them if they wanted a beer or something to eat… and i live 500 miles away. They’re practically family, so I’m as ingrained in theirs as they are mine. Saying it is weird, but if I do, they know I’m not talking down. Context is so important and when you lose it, you lose what any word means. I never pretend to be black, police ignore me, I’m assumed to be innocent of everything. My best friend was born in Thailand and he’s more redneck than me. Just opening your eyes and ears leads to some very positive results for you and everyone around you.
I'm 59 ol white guy, I love people for who they are, good in both. Respect you young man! By the way I was born poor and we ate chicken out of our yard
@@tidler5110 Do you need color blind sunglasses? I'll get ya a pair. Color is beautiful, natural and surrounds us. I'm white but pretty colorful. I get tan in the warm sunny months. My cheeks turn red when I blush, or get to hot. I turned all kinds of purple when I bruise. Hell I even turned pale white with red polka dots when I had the chickenpox. The world would be dull and depressing without colors. :)
I really like the fact you took both sides into consideration it means your a open minded person and can take both sides into perspective which is a sign of High intelligence
"Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they can not communicate; they can not communicate because they are separated." Martin Luther King, Jr
@@daveywalker2319 I'm right-leaning, but I don't see anything wrong with black-owned enterprise. Self-reliance, participation in capitalist economies, independent business mindset, importance of employment, less dependence on government.... sounds "conservative" to me!
Daniel Meeker Yea people need to realize being right ain’t got shit to do with skin color. It’s just about values. Most black people are right leaning when you actually sit down and talk them. I’m so glad my town don’t play the race game. We just poor folks tryin to make it in this world. We just laugh at these racist pushing their agenda. They want us to hate each other but we to busy working beside one another. Racism is on life support.
Im Mexican sicilian and when i was a kid i had these neighbors down the street about 5 black kids all boys to the house some of the best guy ive hung out with. Their mom was a old white lady that adopted them all. They lived a great life. Id go over and play halo all day with them. That was along time ago. They were awesome. Perfect example of different races getting along
Ay my man im sicilian i grew up around a hispanic hood and the boxing gym i went to had everybody white black latin native american it was the happiest times of my life salute brotha
I am white, my parents immigrayed here in 71 from eastern Europe and I grew up between NYC and Philly both very multicultural. My friends growing up were Black, Puerto Rican. Irish, Cambodian, Korean, European, Chinese etc... we loved eachother, looked out for eacheather went over to eachothers houses for meals, lol, or just to goof around, listened to the same music, shared birthday parties, walked to and from school together thats just how it was! The sweetest purest time of my life! I often think of them.
I am so impressed with how you could watch that and actually respond open minded. This why I love watching you. Very intelligent well rounded man. Good for you !
Aye this brought tears to my eyes. I’m a white male you could say I’m conservative but it doesn’t mean shit what matters is we need to love and respect each other. Everyone has a story and it’s different than our own, we just gotta love and respect each other. Love this love the react and hope we can defeat the divide. Much love brother
This unbiased opinion of yours is so refreshing bro. Both sides have their reasons and just want respect. Painting everything into stereotypes will just breed hate and ignorance and that's what Joyner Lucas was portraying. What a genius. Though I have to admit in Europe it is a bit different with the whole slavery thing. But regardless, Joyner's song still stands.
Not to offend, but European countries like to exalt themselves because they didn't have slavery... but I feel obligated to point out, It was European countries that started and perpetuated the entire slave trade. The major Atlantic slave trading nations were: the Portuguese , the British, the French, the Spanish, and the Dutch Empire. Most often, they purchased slaves from local African leaders. The entire amount of US slavery was only 3.25% as opposed to The Portuguese colonies of South America which was 38.5% of the entire number of African slaves. Were we right to own slaves??? Hell no! But if Britain and France hadn't started introducing their slavery to American soil and then start supplying the demand, we would probably not have had slavery to begin with(that may be a debatable issue, I'm not sure).
@@jwkingsr Slavery didn't begin with the Atlantic Slave trade. African slavery didn't even start then. Slavery has been around in some form for all of human history.
No shit it’s embedded in the constitution that’s what we need to get back to the days when the constitution the original constitution the Unredacted version of it
I'm a white, 57 year old male right leaning centrist. That was hard to listen to on both ends. But I appreciate the perspective. I respect your commitment to brining out material that makes us think and hopefully gets us moving to better places.
One of the best reactions: appreciate how you kept it real on both sides of the story and were not just waiting for a “clap back” from the black perspective. Whites, blacks, and browns, need to own up to their culture faults so to speak, and help create change of the perspective instead of supporting the stereotypes... good reaction once again,
Matthew Diaz I always say, these faults in the black community (and every other community) have nothing to do with race and everything to do with culture and we must realise that before we start to change.
It is a real shame, as much as we want racism to end, it will never leave. There will always be a group that support themselves and hate another side with a different gender or race, if only we could all hug it out and settle our differences. Forget about the past and United as a whole
Racism is biological. It served us in the past, but now in the time of dawning consciousness we should know better. We have one hope that we grow wise.
@@softsandals2206 100% agree. If the word is bad, it's bad for everyone. Consider "cunt" in the West. When I was younger, it was the WORST word you could call a girl, but the Brits use it all the time and it's steadily lost it's harshness. Some females take massive offense to it, but most really don't anymore, at least not like they used to. Words lose power over time, but the black community keeps that particular word alive and kicking so long as it's seen as a boogeyman. What I never hear people complain about it when someone calls something a "cotton-picking" whatever, in a negative way. Now, I may have just grown up around a lot of country folk, but I heard "that cotton-picking engine just won't start" etc. etc, all the time. It took me until my adulthood to realize what that phrase was actually referring to, and it's a LOT more racist than "the n-word". Furthermore, just saying "the n-word" has the same meaning as saying "nigger", just like saying "she's such a c-word" has the same connotation as just calling someone a "cunt". It's just dumb. But I highly doubt all the racist black people are going to stop using racist words, so it's a moot point. As an aside, I don't say "cotton-picker" in a negative way anymore. Picking cotton was a very hard job and deserving of respect, not derision. ;)
I will forever come to your reactions because you really don’t put personal feelings into it. You listen to everything with an open mind and really take the substance into consideration when forming your reactions and dissection of the song.
6:22 "personally I'm not big my goal is a million!" Currently sitting at 4.3M subscribers. Glad to see ypu made it shaq. Todays my first day seeing your channel after watching your reaction to logic and now this. Now I gotta see your fresh content.
It's crazy, huh? Everything is a lie when you grow older. Good doesn't automatically win over evil in this world. The deck is stacked against decency and we're fighting each other over what politicians allow us to have.
QTModz best comment on ANY of these videos. If we all came together we could rid ourselves of the parasites in days and turn our existence around for all human beings
Major respect for you shaq. You changed my perspective on this entire song and instead of me being ignorant this time I actually listened and it’s taught me a lot.
6:10 “people ask me every day how I got 15 thousand subs”. His answer was “hard work”. 3 years later, 2021, dude has 2.97 MILLION subs. Damn straight! Keep killin it my man!
Then if you feel this way, surely you will become an enemy to the Body of Christ. For the Body shall not partake of the wickedness of freemasonry. Otherwise any fake will be cut off and burned with everlasting torment. The true Church is small, the history you learn in school is the same history you will be buried with since you chose to follow it's path in idolatry, rather than believe on Jesus
Not hearing too many facts on the white guy's side. Just a lot of ignorance (for example, "You weren't around during slavery," however, slavery affected their entire world view. You think of American history, you think of heroes you are proud of like Washington and Lincoln. They think of American history, they think of their ancestors being raped and humiliated. *This must be taken into account if you are to compare views, but it NEVER FUCKING IS, due to incredible ignorance, which comes from a complete lack of self-awareness* ). From the black guy's side I just hear lots of frustration.
@@EliteTeamKiller2.0 I don’t agree with you man. If something happens to someone a long time ago, does that hurt you? I don’t think so. Your logic is literally my grandma hurt her toe and so therefore my toe hurts. Makes no sense.
Not white or black but this touched my soul.I love my fellow brothers and sisters we're all one and need to just love another for our differences. 💯✌ Brown brother here
Negan’s Protégé you see? you’re going to spark an argument because you basically just divided humanity into races again. you became the exact thing you swore to destroy.
Joyner Lucas should have got a Grammy for this but because it's about race everybody scared but if we sit back and talk about it how is anything ever going to change
The first time he paused and looked mad I was thinking "oh great another fuck who doesn't understand" *but* then he completely ignored the n word and talked about the actual point of the video. Incredible reaction mad respect bro.
Pretty much every colored reactor: YO wtf does this white dude think he is Shaq: *Sees the bigger picture that helps improve both sides for improvement of the society*
The democrat party is just a whining party that victimizes itself. The republican party is a masqueraded party that is set to create duality which is a freemason goal. Don't be deceived, you obviously shouldn't be trusting in any party, neither men with suits who own companies designed to destroy the people of God and set up their tyrannical governments across the world
Best track in years... he will never win a Grammy after this... but he won people's respect for talking facts and keeping it real man... big big up Joyner real talk
Yes and they all got ugly names. Me I have always heard white trash, and now the poor elderly Asians are being beat on every day. I just don't get why as humans we can't get past hatred to someone because of their color? What would happen if one day God put blindness on all of us? Then what? How would we hate then? God made us all different for a reason. Our differences are what makes this world wonderful.
