People give political satire a lot of shit but from my vantage point, the humor in it all helps bring out how nonsensical certain things can be and also makes it easier for the general public to digest. I grant you, I was in college prep classes in high school. I have two associates degrees, but 🤦♀️ I live in a very rural, very Republican area. We had to write reports, term papers, research papers; we weren't allowed to use calculators until I got into chemistry class. We didn't have graphing calculators for geometry. We studied Shakespeare and many other literature giants. We watched C-Span to help learn about our government. I am not quite middle aged yet. People should be getting smarter, but they aren't. The lack of education and real life information that those people possess is terrifying.

I agree. I'm a member of a twelve-step program. We study the book on the subject. In these study groups, I was horrified at the percentage of people that can't read or read very slowly. They stumble on just about any word that is two or more syllables. I am one of them, but I believe it was the treasure as a child, to get a new book to read. We were middle class so, I had most things that I wanted. But I loved opening a book and diving into the pages. One of my earliest memories was of my mom telling me to read "Go Dog Go" to my uncle. I read the book to him but, I didn't have the book with me. I had memorized about twenty pages in. The real shame of this is these people don't have a clue about trickle-down economics. They think that they are Republican but, they don't understand that that party doesn't want them to have health insurance. They don't want to raise the minimum wage. They were finally successful of loading the SCOTUS with justices that lied their way onto the court at their hearings. A good example is the GOP senators that said that they didn't want to forgive any student debt because they had to pay back all of their loans.
Bill Maher says you can hate Trump... but you can't hate his supporters. I say, you can hate people who are not only proud of their ignorance... but make it a choice - a deliberate, willful act to maintain and perpetuate their ignorance. After all, they have the same right to vote as you do.
