Nice solution to adding a second battery. You might want to consider adding a 1" tubing crossmember between the two legs supporting the battery, or triangular gussets between the bottom of the battery tray and the legs. You could also gusset from the legs to the feet.
Thanks for watching! That’s a good idea, I’ll definitely have to do that! I think some triangle gussets would work well and I’m gonna do a support from the box to the fender too.
Thanks for watching! And sorry for the late reply we just got back from a trip. The clearance from top of battery and hood are about a 1/2inch on the negative terminal and about an inch on the positive if you trim a little of the hood support in the area by it. And the platform is about 4 1/2in from the engine bay floor
Thanks for watching! You could be right about that! I’ll need to do more research on it. I did the 136amp alternator so I can charge the batteries faster at camp before bed. So the fridge is fine all night and morning. And I’m planning on doing update videos on all of our gear and upgrades that we have done to the jeep 😊
hey I have a question for you . I don't know how to weld and I don't know anyone who does and I'm really trying to keep my costs down. I bought the Thor Cowl after I saw your video and I can install that myself. But do you have any other suggestion for a battery box maybe one for a RHD Cherokee that I could substitute where the only modifications are with a grinding wheel or something like that. I can get hold of flat iron and drill through it. I just can't figure out how to get a correct battery box for me. Please keep up the GREAT work I love your channel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you my friend.
Thank you so much for watching 😊 we’ll keep the vids coming! I looked at my jeep and it looks like if you got the driver side battery tray adapter and the battery box from dirt bound offroad you should be about to mount your auxiliary battery without any welding and only some minor drilling 😊 i have no experience with this setup not I honestly should of went this route lol but I like doing things the diy way I guess! Here’s the links to the adapter and battery tray. @@2AOverland Awesome! I'm in the Tucson area (born and raised). I don't have a Cherokee XJ YET. Right now I am just looking around to see what is out there and learning what I can about them before I do get one. It will be a while before I can actually acquire an XJ. Learning what is what about the XJ, who is who, and what companies support the XJ. I even went as far as creating a "Cherokee XJ" wish list on Amazon, and bookmarked a few companies. Thank you for sharing and making awesome content. I wish you the best and continued growth.
@@countrymagic61 that’s so awesome! 😊 when you do get an XJ you will love that thing. There is so much to learn and if you do have any questions I can try to answer them the best I can! I have tons of things in my Amazon cart for the jeep also 😂 thank you so much for watching we really appreciate it that means a lot to us!
