Yes, but: (as a mechanic) there is no better feeling than shoving a different engine in a car and suffering through the difficulties until you finally fire it up and hear your creation rumble to life.

@@ethanwible3928 I am totally fascinated by the idea of engine swaps. Do you usually have to fabricate additional parts? How many random hiccups do you run into?

Everything has its own nuances, but bigger engines where they don't strictly belong becomes the source of troubles. Like something that starts off with a 4-cylinder, but you want to give it 8. You will probably have to fabricate some components, and get creative with piping.

​@hp8743 if it's a common swap, you'll most likely find kits with all the pieces you need. If it's rare or the first of it's kind, you'll need to make your own or work with a custom builder

@@fillman86 the base models came with 3 speed/ 4 speed manuals and later in the 80s came out with a 5 speed manual. Base models were meant to be cheap and simple, though it did vary from model to model! Some 80s/70s cars did come with automatics of course, and some came with manuals as standard equipment. And it wasn’t always necessarily luxury models, however it was definitely a selling point to those who had to deal with heavy traffic.

@@fillman86 they offered them in both auto and standard. chrysler killed the standard by only offering autos in everything besides the trucks when they introduced the k car and everyone else with front wheel drive. manuals were in every ford from the pinto to the gran torino the maverick to the galaxy too mustang ii was also available in standard. all the muscle cars were offered in both. my 89 mustang is a manual. we went majority automatic after the asian invasion and the 79 oil crisis and the end of the recession in 83. before that we wanted fuel economy and control of our cars

@@fillman86 thank you, I've already been playing automation lately but I could maybe try something else so I can slowly get better at car making. But first I'll try something easier because I'm not really a code master I'm more of a design guy.

there's ways of getting VR, but it's problematic, and not compatible with WMR headsets

@@fillman86Automatics were offered as a luxury option. Manuals were common for sporty or base applications. In the 80's and 90's auto gearboxes because popular because they became cheaper to produce compared to manuals, making them more common on low end vehicles. Auto gearboxes also phased out manuals in sporty applications as they became faster than manuals. Manuals are a dying breed now, but 40 years ago they were the standard.

That’s because in games and media they use the most expensive and exclusive models many coming with autos

it took a lot of practice to get here, but there's still things I won't touch in this game XD

I kinda done that, just copied some value from automation engine. For mesh, would use beamng ones Case on point, v8-v10-v12 T series (copy of nissan diesel rh8,rh10, and tatra)

well it needs the 3D files and materials from the main.materials file (be sure to change "main" to something like "etki" in the file name)

Thanks, ill make sure to rename the materials file and go through it again when i get a chance, i copied every thing i could find relating to the engine and have gotten the block to show up but its just the default orange with no accessories so i just slid it into place for now. Its also stretching the transfer case for some reason too, just gotta keep tinkering. If its not one thing its another :p

@@fillman86 I think you can check the video statistics to see if people are watching more through browsers or through the mobile app. If more people are watching on their phones, then ultrawide is DEFINITELY the way to go since it fits smartphone screens better. And if that's the case then the ones complaining in the comments are more of a minority, so ignore them

man this is an old video, and it seems to have gotten popular recently. you have 3 options 1) I hear nodeMove instead of nodeOffset will move props, but I haven't tested it 2) you could move the props in blender (in object mode, not edit mode) 3) add the "baseTranslation" modifier to the props line found here - documentation.beamng.com/modding/vehicle/sections/props/

I generally only collab with people who have been at content creation for a while, and have managed to stay consistent (this shows that they have commitment), and I don't mind mute creators, but I generally don't collab with them. a lot of people like to join my build events, and some record, then release their version on youtube too. You could start with that?
