The men’s 100 meters was expected to be one of the center piece of the Jamaican Olympic trials, and just in the prelims it proved just why.

So many persons were ready to write the obituary for sprinting in Jamaica without even waiting on the trials to see what would happen. I just laughed to myself because I know that we know when to show up and show out. No medals are awarded in April, May, June, or July, it's what happens in August that counts.

It happens every year, where people decide by the end of June which 3 people will be on the podium. We can also expect the Jamaicans to improve more from the trials to the Olympics than the Americans, many of whom won’t run any faster than they already have this season. Part of me wants to be frustrated by the arrogant amnesia of the ones crowning the May and June champions, but the best response, like you said, is just to laugh to ourselves and say “let’s wait and see”.

This is very exciting for Jamaica. They have the potential to do something they haven’t done since 2012 in putting two men on the Olympic podium. Kishane also tore his quad in January and has only been training for a couple months. If this is what he looks like in heats with minimal training, he could be capable of 9.6.

And good Sir to what and or which end do you possess knowledge of(?) You as a reactionary should seek to contest things which require your base reaction! At least contest the point on the merit America and American policy forestalls the ability to process amateur athletics in this country and certainly outside of it… Where is the 0:02 USTAF facility and what is their purpose position and policy with the fostering of public awareness regarding their sport(?) What T&F collegiate recruited athletes do you know of with NIL deals… Defense rests T & F only reaches relevance when it’s time to promote US nationalism aboard! And oh by the by prior to turning pro gifted American sprinter Abbey Steiner had run 54 competitive races within her second collegiate year at Kentucky prior to qualifying for a spot on the US Team which went to the World Championships 2 years ago… ask among your savant compatriots how many of them ran that many times to get anything if value… enjoy the games…

Most Americans know little to nothing of progressive athletics outside of what they see on set! Their naivete on full display whenever another country or nation produces world class athletes in any sporting discipline! Jamaica remains committed to it's amateur athletics-therefore; do not sleep Jamaica (Several African/European countries at these games); and should that US quartet in the 4 x100 showcase yet another egregious series of baton exchanges-they may not make podium!

@Samzo2002
@Samzo2002 3 месяца назад
@@antoniobaret7928 I don’t need a lawsuit challenge. It’s just common sense. If you look at the top 5 fastest times in the 100m they’ve all been banned for doping: Gatlin, Tyson, Asafa, Yohan etc. there’s only one athlete that hasn’t tested positive which is Usain Bolt. From a biological point of view a clean athlete can never ever compete with someone that is doping because the advantages are too much. The only reason bolt is deemed “clean” is because he came at a time where track and field was declining as a sport due to steroid scandals, they needed a golden boy of sprinting to save the sport, this was Bolt - he was liked by many due to his charisma and talent. Bolt also had the advantage of the fact he was born in Jamaica, during his time testing in Jamaica was non-existent. This is why you see the rise of sprinters like: Shelly Ann, Yohan, Asafa etc from the small island. Even if you look at the rigorous routine that these athletes do they train all year round 6hrs a day. The human body can’t handle this workload, we are not machines, we are humans that have a limit and need rest. On top of this they travel to many meets for competitions throughout the year. They have no choice but to use these compounds not to have a competitive edge, but to recover properly, remember this is their livelihood they have to put food on their table. If they can’t recover properly and quickly they can’t train as hard the following day, nor can they compete all year round. Even the other day, I was reading how Erriyon Knighton got caught using drugs You don’t have to believe me, many are naive and oblivious. It’s the truth of sports - I respect all the athletes because you need a lot of hard work + talent to become a pro, but there’s a team behind these athletes that create compounds that they’re able to use to aid this talent. But each to their own 🤷‍♂️
