@Oceanatornowk
@Oceanatornowk 7 месяцев назад
On paying off debt early, it can sometimes be helpful to think about it as “guaranteed return”. So if you pay off a loan that charges 5% interest, you “earned” 5% interest because as milf hunter ben Franklin said “a penny saved is a penny earned”. It’s also tax free. Obviously this isn’t 1 to 1, but I think it’s a good view to consider.
@elaishh3533
@elaishh3533 7 месяцев назад
That depends on the loan amortization type. Mortgage most of your first payment is interest and a small portion is principle. Each month the amount going to interest decreases and the amount to principal goes to up. So paying off early results in huge saving. One extra mortgage payment a year drops 8 years off your 30 year loan. ( anything paid over the minimum payment fully goes to the principal balances )

Students in Germany only pay 150€ to 500€ students a semester, depending on if you get a train ticket with your university or not. I only have to pay 150€ and the company I work for pays it in full and gives me a salary. Even if you don't work for a company you can get student help money, the amount I'd based on your parents income. You only have to pay back half(I'm pretty sure) of that money and you can get about 800€ but it varies from student to student.

In the US, your future doctors and engineers attend the same high school classes as the jackass who’ll be licking toilets at McDonald’s for 50 years. You cannot force kids into a technical or vocational path; every kid is college bound by default. Problem 2: we have so many administrators and people who get paid over $100k (not including benefits) for doing basically nothing. Problem 3: our universities are more akin to a luxury 4 year getaway camp rather than just a learning institution. Even my local university, which isn’t top 10 biggest in my state, is constantly building and adding new amenities. All these three factors add up to make American universities ridiculously expensive

@Michael-uc2pn

Assuming the obvious shenanigans didn't get called out as fraud, the court would still look at whatever income and assets you have to decide what you can afford to pay back. Assuming you have even a semi decent job, it would end up just being a restructuring where the court decides the terms. Basically just throwing yourself on the mercy of the bankruptcy court and hoping they decide your ass is too broke to pay any of it back.

@@wewhoareabouttodiesaluteyo9303There is no way it will happen because it is those types of things that will not happen. However the Supreme Court is in the right to blocking it as it is illegal to do this. You can not put someone else student loan on the taxpayers. You can NEVER forgive a loan, the loan has to be paid. It is just a matter of who pay it and who does not. If you make plans around a student loan forgiveness expecting to not have to pay any or just a part of it. You are delusional. No rational person create their budgets and financial plans around a possible politician promise made during election seasons. Especially when such a promise is illegal. Hey man, I agree that they are both bad, but at the end of the day we all rely on a functioning economy. All I see Biden do is pass bills that mean nothing, hurt the economy, and benefit the wealthy. Trump might be able to do better. Whatever party takes the inevitable recession will likely not be able to win the next election. Other than that, from what I remember, the only lgbtqia+ policy he tried to pass was severely misinterpreted by social media and was intended to help trans people serving in the military stay with the group that had the proper support for their biological sex. I don’t find his campaign to even make any comments on lgbtqia+ topics. The racial thing has more validity, but even then I dont think he’s even attempted to pass anything racially motivated. Not allowing immigration has nothing to do with being racist. Hell, there just about every ethnic background trying to enter this country. I think the most valid criticism you can give the guy is about his personality, and the victim mentality he and his supporters have created about themselves. He’s a narcissist that makes America look bad, but we get that with either primary candidate.

Are you really trying to argue that Trump is much worse "socially"? Objectively speaking, Trump is more put together than Biden. Subjectively, you can decide for yourself, but objectively, Biden is more frail. Biden is the lowest rated president in my lifetime according to polling. The entire world thinks Biden is a fossil of a joke. Are you sure you want to say that a sexist, racist old white man is "much better" than a less sexist, less racist, slightly younger white man? Biden has enabled TONS of bad stereotypes and to attempt to deny that is to be, by definition, openly bigoted. Biden includes dangerous stereotypes about Americans in his speeches. If you disagree, then that means that you believe too many of them, then there's probably not much more I can say if that's the case.

As an American Taxpayer, I welcome the ability to pay someone else's student loans, which they *voluntarily* took out, but now they don't want to pay. Yes, let me pay your student loan for your worthless Liberal Arts degree. STEM graduates don't need a vote-buying bailout because they can get jobs that pay money. I work hard for my money. You shouldn't have to, kids.

@@JohnSmith-zw8vp That's a fair take. However, the basic point remains, that it's unfair for guy A to get some benefit and make guy B pay for it. It's not just STEM guys who'll be paying for "forgiven" loans; it's people who never went to college as well.

5:25 you can always file bankruptcy on every type of debt besides student loans. Therefore the meta on student loans is to get as much money in loans (besides student loans) as possible and gamble it all until u can pay ur student loans in full. If you bust just file for bankruptcy and when 7 years comes around build ur credit back up and give it another shot. Eventually you'll win 😏

I hope neither Biden nor Trump "forgive" student loans. Why? Because the debt doesn't just vanish into the ether. According to Forbes: "Canceled federal student loans would be immediately added to the federal deficit". Which means that someone else has to foot the bill. Doesn't sound very fair to me.

The choice is clear. Which candidate do you want for President? The one who gave you low interest rates or high interest rates? The one that gave you low inflation or the one that gave you 9% inflation and caused food and services prices to skyrocket over 20% in a couple of years? The one that got us out of conflicts overseas (Syria and Iraq and almost Afghanistan), and negotiated peace treaties between Israel and some Islamist countries, and was the first post-WWII President to not start a new overseas conflict, or the one that is trying to start a conflict with Russia, Iran, and China? Do you want the occasional "mean tweet" or WWIII? Is a woman an adult human female or "I don't know, I'm not a Biologist."
