I have to say I think a lot of times people over use background music when it is just a talking head video and I find it annoying and distracting, I dislike little treble sounds in the background. Music can add energy to a story for sure and elevate it. I was pleased to see that you chose not use unnecessary background :)

Yeah I used to want music almost all the way through…bad call I think haha. In tutorial videos I tend to just use it in the intro now to set the tone

3:34 YES!! Thank you for including this!! So many videos I watch have the music volume at what seems to be a much higher volume than the voice, and I have to actually turn it turn the volume down by two or three clicks every time the dialogue is over and the music starts up, and then back up again when it goes back to the person speaking, just so that I can actually hear them at a comfortable volume. It gets annoying really fast.

Yeah definitely! I always try to mix in a way that I never feel like touching the volume control when I watch back

@@RyanGreen even when I’ve got to the point of watching my videos back while doing captions, on more than one occasion I’ll edit the music/sound if I’ve noticed a bit that ‘sticks out’ and then I’ll re-upload it. I figure if I notice it, others will too.

I'm trying some of your audio ideas over on my channel and I must say that for a lot of people they are hit or miss really. People definitely know what they hate and you end up with lots of hate, but they don't know what they like necessarily. Keep doing what you are doing!

@@RyanGreen nah, that the discovery process is fickle and it’s not like u can advertise “hey! I have good sound on this.”
