In this video I show my modded Razer Orochi V2. Mods made to this mouse are:
- making it rechargeable via Enncoo Modkit (installation guide: enncoo.com/pages/razer-orochi...)
- Reducing weight by cutting some plastic
- Replacing main switches with Huano Blue Shell Pink Dots
- Lubing the scroll wheel with Krytox 205g0
- also some griptape on main buttons

I own the Orochi v2 and the Aria. I loved the Orochi so much, and got to really love the sensor position... I also gored the inside with snips and somehow got the weight down to 56 grams with a lithium AAA... but then the creaking started. The Aria was just too big for me and the battery doesn't last very long. I ended up trying the Coolermaster MM712 and it is my new favorite, better than either of the previous two in my opinion, but still a very small claw mouse. Great video!

An updated Orochi would be a beautiful move from Razer imo. How does the MM712 sensor position compare to the Orochi? Isn’t it also quite forward? And thanks!

@@jerrorr Yes it is quite forward, much like the Orochi. I got so used to that, I seek only mice with forward sensors now, lol.

How do the huano blue shell pink dot feel compared to the stock switches? Are they comparable to the logitech g305 purple/lilac color version omron switches? These ones are the lightest I have tested and are really good for mobas.

They are very similar in terms of actuation force. The huanos are just a tiny bit "thockier" feeling. They are around 10g heavier in operating force than the Omrons Logitech uses.

Is it possible to make the scroll wheel infinite? Either by modding the encoder or replacing it with a different one?

Maybe if there is an encoder without notches you could do that, but to get that freely spinning scroll wheel you would propably also need to give the wheel some weight so it would have some momentum.

I had it planned but then I started to become too hopeful that the wireless version would be launched for christmas and decided to skip it 😅 but that would be a fun mod for next year since razer didn’t launch it 🤔

You knew you could make it a usb c/micro chargeable mouse instead of wireless for the vid, so when?

I modded this mouse long before I made this video so I went with the wireless charging, and it was suggested by the maker of the modkit himself. I have no plans to mod the Orochi further currently but I am soon reviewing the Zaopin Z1 mouse, which is basically the Orochi but better in many ways. Stay tuned!
