Aaron I couldn’t possibly articulate my feelings about this in a way that would do it justice but please know that this was so beautiful and so important for so many of us to hear. Good luck as you continue on this journey of recovery and self acceptance and thank you for sharing this with us.

that hit a nerve. esp. the part about replacing the desire to be liked by fulfilling body standards with the desire to be liked for productivity. I never thought about it this way. Thank you.

I was emotional from the very beginning, but as soon as the Undertale music kicked in I stopped breathing. I love you so much, Aaron, and I really hope you get to a place where you don't have to TRY to love yourself anymore, where it just comes naturally. You are such a wonderful person, and I am very glad that I started watching you.

@@jennieC_ May i ask hard questions: The being loved because of and coolness of being trans will be there for 1st weeks mouths years. = high on drugs/lies) Then the regretting comes in? Realization of truth? Being trans - a lie, which no soul stays believing in? List all the famous “male” pop singers and actors, politics: All are FTMs. List all the famous “female” pop singers and actors, politics: All are MTFs. What is the real reason, general public was made to believe such lie (trans lie)?

I started fricking tearing up at the end. Damn! I’ve been dealing with a bunch of mini panics doing normal things. Most of them have to do with what other people think about me. I started about a month or so ago trying to be nicer to myself and comfort myself. I’m still working through trying to feel deserving of that kindness. Ever since I moved out with the help of my previously abusive mother and father. I mostly only talk to people when I work at a garden 2 hours a day. I sometimes get angry at myself when this cute guy (I’m an enby btw) tries to talk to me every time he sees me and since I only talk 2 hours tops in a day. I can’t form words very well and they come out as fragmented sentences at first. I don’t know why I’m writing this. I just really connected to your video. I’m rebuilding my support system from scratch and working to become independent financially just to cut out my previous abuser. I dropped out of college because of the stress/my disability. Seeing your video just makes me feel like I’ll be able to find people that I love and people who love me as much back for me and not the fake person I used to pretend I was to curry favor. Thank you. Also, your body is similar to my body. I think it’s beautiful so it helps see that my body is pretty good as well. I hope that’s not mean to say. I just don’t see people with my body type who are talking about self-love and not about trying to change that. Thanks and have a nice day.

This is such a BEAUTIFUL and IMPORTANT video. There's so much I could comment on (and thank you for) throughout but just in the last few lines, you summed up everything I wanted to say perfectly. The last 'this is my voice'... it's usually like, 'hey, sup, listen to how deep my voice has gotten' and there's nothing wrong with that but that last one was like, 'hey, listen up, this is MY voice and I'm going to use it to show you who I am because let me tell you, I'm more than you've ever made me to be. I deserve to be here, take up my space and I'm gonna use it for good.'. And that's really just your entire friggin' channel for me. You are so important and so loved and I'm so glad that you have worked to this place where you can share WHO YOU ARE. So much love for you and this entire community you have built

Needed this for sure...Parents just told me the whole "we can't support your decision" and the lovely "we feel like failures as parents" bs after telling me for several years that "nothing will change we love you no matter what and support you blah blah blah." Its hard cutting them out of my life after trying to be patient, and giving them information about being trans, and giving them space, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses and move on. Thank you for this video

i want to say that I saw this video a few months ago and it *hit so hard.* So gut wrenchingly hard. I remember The line "nobody wants to admit they hate themself" legitimately made me feel like I had been punched. I had agreed with so much stuff you had just said and comparing other things in my life where those emotions came out and then just just hit me in the face w/ a fucking book and knocked me to the floor and said "this is the reason. This is the tie together of everything in your life that's fucking you up." I think this video specifically is a big reason I'm doing better than I was a few months ago.

Thank you Aaron for being so open about all of your experiences. I am 5 months on T and while I am excited for the future, I am also terrified. My gender dysphoria is tangled up with my body dysmorphia and that's really challenging to navigate so some days its seems impossible that I'll truly be happy with the way I look no matter far along I am in my transition. Thank you for reminding me that recovery and self acceptance is an ongoing thing. Love you

I don't know if I can put into words how much I love and appreciate this video. It's so hard to love myself, as a non skinny person, as a nonbinary trans man, as a mentally ill person, as a person, full stop. Most days I have to try my best in order to not hate myself so much that I hurt myself and it's really difficult to focus on self love when you're trying to survive. Because your efforts all go towards *that* and so little energy is left and you need a lot for self love imo. But this video made me realize: it's important. I don't know but maybe self loathing is the root to that whole barely surviving thing. So if I start working on self love it can only help me on all levels. I hope that made sense, ultimately I just wanted to say thank you for this video because it made me reflect and I think I needed it. This was well thought, well shot and extremely helpful for me and I hope for yourself too. Thank you, Aaron.

Perfectionism is ROUGH. Thank you for risking. For being vulnerable and honest. Being the best human you can is a fluid concept. It's part of being a person (and I still struggle with that too). Like if I'm sick or tired, how I communicate will be different than if I'm in a stellar mood. And that's okay. It NEEDS to be. I cant just wait until I'm perfect, to have interactions with humanity. And that's terrifying (what if I fuck up? Society doesn't handle mistakes very well right now) but also liberating (I get to try!). Anyways. Thanks Aaron, for getting me to think. And for what it's worth I dont think youre rad because all your pieces are together. It's because you are honest about what it's like when they aren't. And how it feels to be stuck. Because you are real (as you can be) and not veneer.

I love this so much. I was raised with many people in my life who assigned my value based off the favors/jobs I did for them. If I didn’t do it all, I was called selfish, thoughtless, and terrible. It really crippled me into my teenage years. I’m better now than I was, but this past month has been beyond challenging with someone rehashing all those feelings because I won’t put my life on hold so they can do whatever they want without fulfilling their responsibilities. Thank you for making this video. You expressed so many emotions I have too but couldn’t articulate. I didn’t even know I needed this video, but I sure did. Thank you ❤️

I needed to hear this. Lately I've gotten to a place where I don't worry as much about my weight, but I still deal with thinking the things I do and make aren't good enough. And that I'm not good enough, that I don't have anything to offer people so I should just stay out of their way. I've been pretty isolated lately. I need to actively try to love myself, too.

It's hard to love yourself, when you've seen what you've done good and can't do again or what you did wrong and cannot fix, but Aaron you're a wonderful person. I'm so glad you're taking the steps to learn to love yourself. I feel like we all forget to love ourselves. For whatever reason. But we all deserve love, especially from yourself. You're going to be with you, for the rest of your life. So in the end, your opinion of yourself and how much you love yourself is what matters, everything else is secondary.

This video touched me Aaron. I often struggle with feeling like if I say one wrong thing or don’t communicate my feelings in a absolutely clear way or say nothing that may not make sense to others I’ll be pushed away, laughed at or physically hurt. I have a lot of feelings of shame around taking up space especially as someone with bad anxiety and a non-binary person. I find it to hard to be proud or want to take up space because I myself feel I’ll be seen as attention seeking, sensitive, weak etc. BUT thank you for this video, from the bottom of my heart. It’s a solid visual and auditory reminder that healing takes time, but also that thinking I’m less valuable isn’t true💓💓💓💓

Just. Seeing how far you've come. To trust the internet with the sight of so many angles of your body. It's so very, very touching. And beautiful. Because I see my own body in yours. So much. You shirtless on screen, I thought, "That body looks like mine!" and it makes me so very happy and appreciative for your content and other content like this.
