I'm so relieved, my prado 120 1kdf 8/08 two days ago, when I was taking off from a red light, it blew a big lot of smoke, something I've not seen before with it, I was wondering and concerned if a piston cracked, so I checked my oil filler cap and exhaust, the oil cap loosened, sat there just like you've shown here Anthony, my exhaust is clear too, I got worried mate 👍 😊
Choof Choof Choof can be as simple as a worn injector compression washer and not worn ring or cracked pistons .......... Great videos by the way ......I'm from Trinidad in the Caribbean.
Correct me if I'm wrong. For a 4 cylinder engine there are 2 compression strokes per revolution = 1400 compressions per minute at 700 rpm. Which would be 23.3 choofs per second for a good engine and 5.8 big choofs every second with one cracked piston.
Hi. Thanks. I have a concern. Actual owner of a Hyundai Santa fe 2016 2.2 Diesel. 98k kilometers on the clock. Car is powerful, no smoke from exhaust, not burning oil and superb fuel economy. Yesterday with the engine on, i saw white smoke from oil dipstick and oil cap. Not a lot, but consistent. Anny help? @Fourby4Diesel
I have found something wrong with my hilux, it's shifter sometimes doesn't lock and you can move it freely from P to R,N,D etc without depressing the brake pedal or shift lock it happened to me only once yet
hey thats an informative video. my car is a 2.2l diesel. less than 22k kms. has engine blow by no smoke but no oil burning at all. exhuast gas is clean rides perfect. is it normal or should i worry?
It’s not the number of cylinders - it’s the strokes. 1 turn of the crank is one up+down stroke of the cylinder so a 4 stroke would have 1 compression stroke every 2 crank turns. That’s right, right?
