THIS IS NOT GOOD! Part 3 of Aiden's Cam and LT4 Blower Install! 

Limpy posted a Throwback Thursday video last week of a CashDays about 13-14 years ago. In it was a “out to dinner” segment with Aiden sitting on No Lift Richard’s lap, he had to be 2 to 3 years old. It was so cool to see everybody back in the day.

Aiden… this message is for you buddy. Whatever your passion is, drag racing, wrenching, auto sports, or sports themselves. Pour your heart into your passion. Your blessed to have the mother and father you have but they don’t define your future. I see a lot of comments from people picking on you and I personally think it’s bullshit. This build has been fighting you guys the hole time. But what a great learning opportunity for the boys.

I'm glad the previous 2 videos prepared me enough to not be surprised by the problems. At least they finally got it running!

Im proud of em boys .. even tho things didnt go so good at first they stuck with it n got it done .. i guarentee you they learned more from this project than they ever would have if everything went perfect .

Back when my buddy and I used to wrench on my car in high school, we would constantly get stuck and mess things up, ruin a part because we were young and stupid. And every time my uncle came by to see what we were doing he would say, “everytime I come over here it looks like two monkeys fornicating a football in the driveway” 🤣 but that was how we learned banging away on that ol football! Glad to see the boys learning something form people who actually know what they are doing! Great video!

Great upload Phantom! Aiden is a lucky kid in so many ways! Shit I had to wait until I was 47 until I had Whipple on my 5.3 Silverado 😝 Completely stock on 6 lbs made 440 to the ground..all the boys are making lifelong memories…lucky bastards lol

when you cranked that engine over after the engine died you are the reason it hit the valves and pistons anytime you do a cam swap if you have issues running or it dies CHECK timing chain first

Love how Shawn’s living life. Made him and his family a couple $$ but still makes his child realize what’s important and makes him work and figure out things. That’d be awesome to do be out there building that truck with family and friends!!

Since watching this build, I am now wanting a Silverado. Going to look for one and build similar.

I prefer the pinch clamp vs the worm clamp. The worm clamps do not maintain pressure on the hose after the hose begins to shrink. I've replaced the pinch with worm style on my rigs and months later, they're loose and pissing fluid everywhere. Seat the pinch style properly and forget it. They work.

Great to see 3 generations working in the same location as the boys are getting a vast knowledge in auto mechanics and they have Richard to show them how to make it look like it is flat as glass and the paint is a foot thick

Very familiar with your guys pain here. Dropped a lifter on cylinder 7 exhaust last summer on my 2015 silverado lt 5.3. Ended up putting in a stage one texas speed cam and ls7 lifters and deleted on that afm nonsense. I ended up pulling the engine and working off a stand rather than lean over the truck. There was a lot of curse words had on that deal. Pulled many engines with the old man over the years but this engine was very new and different to us both. Good learning experience had. I also have the stainless works header back on my rig also. Decent set up for daily driving. Nice work on that truck. Mistakes make good learning experiences.

Overall I think the guys did a good job. You definitely need a catch can to keep all that moisture from going back into the intake. Not sure what all the parts cost you but I did a Magnuson 2650 on my 2017 Camaro SS, did the install myself and even though it cost me $8000, I am more than satisfied. You get everything you need and instructions for everything, including removal of the front end. The cool part was when contacting Magnuson, the rep I talked to was named "Ryan Martin" lol. I asked if he was the one on Street Outlaws and he said his hot rod wasn't as fast as you Ryan Martin. Great vodeo!

I just looked up e85 in Canada and we have 4 Gas stations in our entire Country that sell it. It is available as race gas in 5g pails and 55g drums tho..

One thing for sure is truth don't need support n never could be consider wrong or hate,,,I say this cause Phantom didn't have to show this video with fire from truck,,but it goes to show how real this 187 channel is,,and base on that alone is something to admire,,cause I doubt that most guys would have shown that,,,but whenever they get thru their trials n tribulations,,,they going to take the place of Ryan Martin for as winning,,and then they can really use this platform for more than just racing cars!!

I’ve got CO2 extinguishers now! Way easier to clean than that nasty powder! Cool build. Truck sounds good. Should get a bunch of smiles per gallon from the boys.

Yooo. I just dealt with the same stuff on my 2014 truck. Started with too long of pushrods. Truck ran. Let it sit overnight and changed oil ( fresh l86 build) soon as truck built oil pressure it bent valves. Fixed all that and still no compression. Found my timing was off and found my cam gear skipping on my cam. Waiting for texas speed to send my 3 bolt conversion and new cam currently. Truck did exactly as his did. No compression in one hole. Then 2. Then nothing. Crazy to see yall go through it too!

Dalton not wearing shoes has me dying

When you get back you should do a mild build series on a truck. Decent set of wheels, lowered, exhaust and mild engine parts and when done gift it to Dalton for all he does. Cheap truck and some take off hop up stuff I think is fans would truly enjoy that.

There is a problem with the short block, you can hear when cranking the compression is uneven.

Gotta say the boys did better than I would have at 16. And I never had to deal with an ECU, sensors, fuel injectors, wires/plugs, and all that crap!

The smell of antifreeze never going away reminds me of all the old Toyota pickups I’ve had over the years.

The transmission in that truck is safe to 820 SAE HP before having to be rebuilt with stronger clutches and roughly 800 SAE HP to the rear tires

That was painful mostly because it reminds me of everytime I touch an engine lol. Sounded like a 305 with a flat cam when you started it the first time 🤣

Hey the boys left a hood bolt out on the driver's side they only had 1 in it looked like to me this episode was a hell of a learning experience for them and damn sure brung back some good memories for me. Hope you guys have fun and win a bunch of money down under

Once you pop a fire extinguisher off, you have to have it recharged it will not work next time you use it, no matter if you used a little or a lot

You can barely even see there's an engine with the blower, wiring, hoses etc lol. Only fires I ever had on first starts were carb backfires... definitely not something you want to see knowing how fast a fire can destroy a vehicle. It did sound rattly on startup, so valves hitting makes sense.

Only thing I ran into when I did cam in l83 truck was getting the torque tables right to get it to idle because in hptuners it doesn't use airflow changes. Def alot of figuring out and research & asking a big name tuner buddy.

Be easy on the boys. I've been wrenching for years and I know that would have taken me weeks! Lots to learn with new technology for anyone! I'm sure the guys that do it every day started somewhere and they didn't get it done in a few days.

You can't Learn if someone does it for you the way you let the boys do it is the best way to learn

I knew from the first 1 second of cranking shit wasn't right. ALWAYS listen to the rhythm of the motor when cranking, it will tell you better then a compression gauge what's going on. It should go duh-duh-duh instead of duh-duh-dee, smooth rhythm is what you're wanting. Anyway, nuff dat. The best "talking to" that I have heard Shawn do. Solid explanation and good detail involved it in. I dun bee a wrench, so's I bee a knowin :) Change that oil yet ? Change it again then, it needs it.

I had very similar issues with a l83 I done some work on… ended up spinning rod bearings from a result of the valves beating the pistons… just a heads up incase you run into spun rod bearings… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Never should let them boys work on that truck

Make sure those Teflon injector seals are well seated (they make a tool for it, but you can put a piece of vacuum hose over it and a hose clamp to squeeze them down all of the way)...sounded like it had a little low compression on of the cylinders...that blow-by was probably the gasses escaping the combustion chamber. That's one of the biggest problems with these direct injection engines. They absolutely need to be seated correctly, and can't have any tears I'm them. I've repaired several injector seals ..they get old and work and cause a leak Also, if you don't have the a/c compressor pigtails and high and low switched connected properly, it will keep the fans on full blast.

How do you have that much condensation in motor or blower? Is it just blow off at start up after build or does it pull water out of the air? If so I better rain days or wet days suck. Great job helping the boys out.Dalton worships you Shawn you mentor him into a great mechanic and a man.
