Hey bro ive had some teeth problems myself and could not see a dentist for a bit and whenever i had terrible tooth pain i would take ibuprofen the 200mg like 2 or 3 and my tooth pain would be gone in less than a hour and stay gone
You motivated me to skate home from work. It was an 8 mile ride. And I’m a bit overweight so I had to walk some of the way. Mad respect to you for knocking out 50 a day man. You’re an athlete and an inspiration. Hitting up the skate park today
that's super dope to hear man. I don't have a car yet and I'm just a teen so I've been skating everywhere for a long time but at most 3-4 miles. huge props to you
this journey is such a great analogy for life. ass roads, tendon inflammation, broken tooth...but keep pushin to the horizon. thank you chad, this is starting SO many peoples day off on the right foot. see ya tomorrow.
I feel you on the drinking man, it’s hard to fill your time after spending so much time doing that shit. Been trying to get my body in ok condition to start skating consistently again, I’d love to try to do this sometime too. Good luck G, you got this.
Tooth pain can suck! I wonder if eating while on rough roads contributed to the issue? Probably just an underlying problem but all that vibration can't be good for your teeth on teeth contact, maybe a bite guard if you are a teeth clencher when riding rough patches? Maybe some sugarless gum, just something to keep some space in your bite? At the very least go to a drug store and get a tooth repair kit! there are over the counter fixes that will last a day or two. Best of luck, keep pushing!
I have nothing but admiration for you & your amazing endeavour. I love that you keep your cheerful determination even when things are falling apart. It's genuinely inspiring to watch somebody keep such an even keel in such challenging circumstances. AND, as I'm sitting here in the UK typing with insane toothache from a broken tooth, I take comfort that I don't have to push 60 miles on hot shitty roads in the desert as well! More power to you my friend!
If you start to feel pain even a tube of 4x strength Orajel will work for the meantime. It did wonders for me while I was waiting for my dentist appointment. You should be able to pick up a tube at any drug store for $10. It's basically a tube of liquid Novocain.
Get the tooth sorted dude, one of mine started falling apart like that, and it was fine until it got infected, that hurt more than the worst pain most people will experience in a lifetime, I do feel that I'm qualified to say that. I've been through a lot of injuries in my time, and that was comparible to my first kidney stone, which was substantially worse than any of my previous injuries which include broken/fractured bones into the double figures. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
Well I wish the best. I read about a woman that was hell bent to run a marathon. She wasnt listening to her body pushed thru it. Now has long lasting damage to her knees and legs. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Not trying to be negative. Just take care,it's not a easy trip that's for sure but don't hurt yourself long-term. 👍🤙
Please get that tooth looked at. I had a cracked tooth and what will happen is food will lodge itself in the crack and become infected leading to a root canal. You are amazing though!
The longer you wait on a chipped tooth they will want to pull that tooth. If you see a dentist asap they can save the tooth and give you a crown. You might be fine until the end of your trip in a couple months. But if you don’t want to lose the tooth go see a dentist. You could be totally fine to skate the next day.
you should really go see a dentist as soon as you can to avoid getting exposed nerve pain which is absolutely brutal. I dont want to see you suffer from tooth pain its so bad sometimes. Hoping and praying it doesnt cause you any pain or discomfort at all though. Safe travels brother!
Tendonitis is normal... it's just means your body can't recover enough from the stress on the tendon. You need stretch and foam roll your calf. The trigger points in your calves are kind of blocking the blood to flow, which causes this. Also move the tendon right and left with you finger a bit to massage it. That helps too a lot. I had it for a long time and once I found out, it recovered very fastly. Hope that helps.
@@theowainwright7406 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AyfHU2PFa_g.html It's in German, but you see the stretch. :) Didn't have this issue but I am sure you can fix it.
Sorry about your tooth dude. I know exactly how that feels. The sharp edges are the worst. Keep ur tongue off of it. Try to avoid hard food on that side. Chips are dangerous. They're stabby. Hope you can take care of it soon. Keep up the good work dude. We're rooting for you.
A small keychain-sized can of pepper spray might have been a good idea for Coyote and defense against the crazies lol. like one of those small POM branded ones. What do you think Chad? PS really enjoying watching your trip!
I've been watching this whole journey and faith is humanity is restored whenever someone pulls off the road and offers to help you out and gives you food/water. It's awesome to see there's still good people out there. And dude, it's mindblowing to hear how far you've skated, but whenever you say what city you're finishing up at, I pull up a map and it's even more mindblowing just to see how far you've gone. Keep it up man! We're all rooting for you!
Keep that tooth clean and get it pulled ASAP. I just went through that, trust me brother, you don't want it to get infected. That will cancel your trip before anything else
Coyotes are surprisingly aggressive little boogers, be careful with those guys. Mad respect, this trip is definitely not easy, especially by the look of those roads. Keep pushing G,eye be rooting for you brother.
Chad, Hwy 180 will be a challenging road. When you get past hwy 351, closer to Albany, the road changes and maybe a little more smooth. If you made it to Anson today, then you will have maybe a half day more of this rough road, and then the other half should be smooth going into Albany. Best of luck, you got this! 💪
Yo Chad, make sure you’re getting proper nutritional intake! You’re exercising for hours on end which can take a toll on more than just your musculoskeletal system! Chippin teeth could POTENTIALLY be a sign of some malnutrition
They make temporary tooth filler that you can get at any pharmacy. It will keep you tooth from getting worse. Same thing happened to me with a Cliff bar. I only have the one molar on that side too! I got lucky and the temporary filler allowed the dentist to save it. Good luck Chad. My advice is to find a pharmacy asap and look for cavity filler shit. Its easy to put on and it leaves a hard putty in the hole so it doesn't get worse.
Chad you’re amazing and we love you ❤ please get that tooth looked at. You might lose a day but you will lose weeks or more if you let it go untreated: ‘A broken tooth shouldn't be left untreated. Even if a broken tooth doesn't hurt or isn't bothering you, it can put you at risk for other more serious issues if not corrected quickly. One of the most bothersome risks of leaving a broken tooth alone is having food get stuck inside, which can cause acute infections.’ Maybe ask in your video for anyone who might be or know any dentist who can offer to help anywhere near where you are going?
Being chased by dogs? skating across a road paved with rocks? teeth falling out? stuck in the middle of nowhere with all businesses boarded up? This is turning into a fever dream
loving the vlog m8...been following for a couple of weeks and find your journey so relaxing to watch from the comfort of my couch. also am finding it pretty nostalgic as i did an east to west US bicycle ride a couple of years ago from NY to LA. aggressive dogs were a mf constant! warmshowers was an incredibly useful resource btw...it's an odd sounding app (maybe you're already familiar??) but it was perfect if i didnt want to either camp or stay at a motel (basically it's couchsurfing but for traveling cyclists/skaters??)...you'd be surprised how many ppl, even in remote towns across the US use the app and happily host, cook and provide a bed for you. i met so many kind, generous ppl, helping me along the way and it's no surprise to see all the love being thrown at you too. may the wind be at your back m8, keep pushin, much love from sydney, australia :)
50 states and Skate Across America are both endurance epics, but have you ever thought about doing a single day marathon just to see how far you can skate before you can’t go any further? Picturing a 38 hour day, night, day where you log 200 miles.
Wow, bro! I thought I was hardcore skating twenty miles in a day. Take a day or more to rest, recharge, heal, and go to the dentist for our sake! May you be healthy, happy, joyful, and free from suffering🙏🏼
You're an inspiration in a lot of ways, man. I live alone and work from home doing a computer/desk job and spend all my time wishing I was outside exploring and skating. You're out there doing hard work and that struggle isn't lost on me, and I'm sure I'm not even your target audience necessarily - but you're a champion for folks like me trapped in corporate boredom. Take care of yourself out there and try to enjoy the struggle. You may never be so fortunate to get a struggle like this one ever again.
Chad, Edeya here. i went to subscribe but i have too many subscribers rn. anyway, i started watching just a couple days. Hope you stay hydrated bruh! thats crucial. bruh dats worth olympic status marathone type endeavor! more power to you since thats what you want to do. be well. i wished i could do more. ill watch along tho.
I have went on long bicycle rides in the 80s 90s, it can be a grind, very slow and painful and not fun at times, I couldn't amagine riding something with that small of wheels that far. Little too slow and rough for me.
Those Life bars are like rock. I recently broke my tooth next to my wisdom tooth with no pain. Just make sure there’s nothing in the broken tooth before bed and it shouldn’t cause you any problems
Good lord, just hearing the sound of that road makes my feet hurt - too bad about the tooth, sucks when that happens, it's probably from all the bad asphalt shaking it apart ;)
Goodluck with your tooth dude, by some oral hygiene rinse at one of your stops so you can reduce the risk of infection. Not mouthwash, oral hygiene rinse.
I'm 48. I get tendinitis in my Achilles just from 1 hour of pushing, lol. I don't know how you are doing it. It's hard to walk some days if I pushed hard the day before.
I use my cellphone for filming and editing my RU-vid videos also! I've gotten so fast now. I can edit a 10 minute video in like an hour, hour and a half hahaha. Used to take 3+ hours. Haha.
I hope you can continue without anymore teeth problem. nobody knows a skateboard dentist around dallas area ? that can operate in the middle of the road for free ?
I empathize about you tooth problem, don’t let it get infected, that will set you back for sure. As for pit bulls and aversive dogs, if it were me I would have a small to medium size pepper spray for self protection. That looked like some really rough road , hope it gets smooth again. Massage and gently stretch the tendons, also some Arnica Montana jell would help if you can find some, I use it on my bad calf and knee all the time, hope it goes better, next day.
Man you inspired me to pick up the board again. I'm 9 months sober I'm now 250 pounds and snapped my deck doing my first board slide again 😅 I always slammed them hahah
Hopefully you can get that tooth fixed as soon as ya can! Enjoying the progress, have been starting my day with your Skate Across America videos lately and its been a great mood booster.
