@@Curlynaps madara got stronger through his hatred as shown after izuna's death, obito got stronger do to his trauma of losing rin and half his body, itachi got strong through his love for sasuke and konoha and sasuke got strong because he wanted vengeance against itachi then got even stronger after realizing his vengeance was aimed at the wrong person.

Yes sasuke has lethal abilities but his intention was to kill kabuto before itachi told him his plan and sasuke was a liability in the fight as itachi saved him twice plus sasuke had no idea what izanami was he only knew about inzanagi

@@Curlynaps yeah but sasuke is a smart fighter that would analyze his opponent while attacking. I guess what im trying to say is kabuto wouldve become a stepping stone for sasukes development. Like i said in that fight sasuke was only sidelined in order to prevent him from killing kabuto and kabuto wouldve been an easy oppenent for sasuke if he was allowed to kill him seeing as later on sasuke is shown being able to fight juubito.
